CASA has a case with a 6-year-old girl who was removed from her father after he was found to be using substances and heavily neglecting the child. She was living with bedbugs, many mice, few clothes and little food. She is now placed with a family relative, who is lower income and does not have expendable income. The child has asked to go to the Butterfly Pavilion and the Georgetown Railroad Loop, but this cost is not manageable. CASA is asking for assistance with this want (not a need) by someone providing a Visa gift card near the amount of $215, which can offset the tickets for the child and adults in the household to visit these places. The father is not working, and the mother is working but can't afford a bed. They have 3 children, 8months twin boys, and 2-year-old boy. The toddler needs a toddler bed for safe sleep.

Two Children are receiving preventive services. Mom is working with services to maintain both children in the home, currently both children are sleeping on air mattresses, and we are requesting two twin bed frames and mattresses.

A teenager (Female, 14) was place with a resource under DHS supervision. The resource and her son live in a 2-bedroom apartment, she’s a single mother, and her income is barely enough to provide and care for her and her son. The 14-year-old sleeps on their couch, the resource is in the process of getting certified to become a foster parent for the youth as a long-term permanency option. To become certified as a foster parent, the youth need her own privacy and sleeping area. We’re requesting a room divider so the youth can have privacy and her own space and area.

I have a mother, who has a 15 year old child, that is living paycheck to paycheck, facing eviction, and is struggling with being able to afford food in the home, as well as save enough money to move into a new home. The mother has requested help with some grocery items. The family does not have transportation but there is a Hannaford supermarket that is close to their residence.

Mother had her items stolen, including her phone. She has been working hard to get back on her feet for the sake of her daughter. We are reaching out to the community for help in replacing her phone and supporting her in providing food for her daughter. A previous mom we helped some time ago has stated the bed we gave is now worn. A photo was provided to show that. She would appreciate a twin bed for her son (mattress and box springs and rails, or platform frame) and a comforter. This will help her son to get the sleep he needs to be healthy and feel secure.

PLEASE NOTE: RISE CHURCH CAN MEET THIS NEED WITH A BED WE ALREADY HAVE IN OUR INVENTORY. NO FURTHER DONATIONS ARE NEEDED.

A family of 5 is in need of a bed for their oldest son. He is in high school and is need of a full-sized bed. The family has suffered a few set backs and are working hard to get back on their feet. Having a bed will greatly improve the quality of life for this teenage boy. Please consider helping with this need.

There is an individual within the church that coaches underprivileged children that is in need of athletic gear / shoes / cleats for a few of the children in order for them to remain active in sports this summer and throughout the upcoming school year.. mainly he is in need of basketball shoes any sizes and size 12.5 men's cleats and tennis/ basketball shoes. If u have any kids or adult shoes for males new or used in good condition that u would like to donate please please reach out these kids are desperately needing these to continue with the well-being of their athletic abilities not to mention being active in sports helps with the mental well being of our children in today's society
