I currently have a family in our community that is in need of 3 beds and bed frames. This single mother is working so hard to keep her family bond strong. Beds are so important in a kids life because it gives them a place of feeling safe and at home. Many kids go to sleep with out a proper place to sleep which affects there psychical and mental health. With your support of these beds though we can help this family secure beds so that these kids can feel safe and at home. Thanks you as always in advance for always helping my families!!

A mother in our program is requesting a gift card for some school supplies for her two younger daughters. We are able to get some of the school supplies from community resources but would like aid to help the family with whatever they are not able to get from our resources. We are requesting a gift card to either walmart or target to provide the remaining school supplies. If this need is met it will help mom provide school supplies for the girls in time for school, ensuring they have what they need. We are requesting $100 but anything will help. Thank you for considering.

This mom is unable to pay for her eyewear through Research Medical Hospital. One of the three children is currently on a Trial Home visit. The mother is preparing to attend college in August and needs her prescription eyewear. If anyone can assist monetary. I can provide the contact information of the office, if prefer to pay directly to the eye doctor office. information can provide the information

This child has a relative that is approved for placement but for her to be able to move to the relative placement she is needing a bed and a dresser. This will help immensely with getting this child reunited with her relatives.

We have a 15 year old young lady in a kinship placement and could use some personal care/hygiene items. She has had a difficult time in foster care and has transitioned between several placements, which has made it difficult for her to maintain a supply of personal care items as she loses access to supplies when she moves. She's struggling with a lack of stability and control right now as she waits for reunification with her parents. Providing her with her own little stash of personal care items will allow her to keep the same belongings when her placement changes, ease the stress of moving around, and give her a sense of control over her own belongings and self-care.

We've gathered what supplies we have on hand, but there are a few items left over we'd like to obtain for her: -Aquaphor moisturizer -Washcloths -Hand towels -Hair conditioner -Face wash (Cera Ve is her favorite) -Hair brush -Mouthwash -Razors (safety or cartridge) -Lip balm

We would be so grateful if anyone can help our teen finally have her own set of belongings to take with her when she moves placements next (she will be moving again soon).

I have a family that I have been working with who is currently staying at a motel. Both parents are working, and they have been approved for an apartment. The apartment is not available until 08/01/2025. We are asking to see if we can help this family out with their stay at the hotel so they can save money for their deposit. Once this need is met, the family will be able to move them and their two children into their new apartment where the children will have their own rooms to feel safe and comfortable in.

This family is in need of cleaning services to help get a handle on getting the home cleaned and helping with laundry and getting it put away. Parents for the children are receiving services for substance use and are not able to care for the children in a safe manner. Grandma has stepped in and is taking care of them.

There are 4 kids in this home, 3 are siblings and 1 is a cousin. Grandma is taking care of all 4 of them at this time. They have recently moved into this home and have fallen behind on keeping it clean and uncluttered. Grandma is very overwhelmed with all 4. Ages are from 6 months to 7 years old. CD has helped with some laundry and getting laundry soap and getting a few loads washed and dried. Case management has reached out to Hot Mess Moms, but they are not currently taking applications. Community Action of Greater Kansas City has also been contacted. Grandma has recently stopped working in order to care for her grandkids. Daycare is being looked at with help from CD. This family is very kind and accepting of help.

A grandmother has been caring for her infant granddaughter since she was released from the NICU and has been struggling to make ends meet since then. The baby recently celebrated her first birthday and is close to graduating from her special needs program!

Grandmother's washer recently started acting up and she does not have the money to cover the repairs, as her car is already needing work done. With infant clothes and toys constantly needing washed, this grandmother is in need of repairs as soon as possible to continue to care for her granddaughter. A local appliance repairman has estimated the cost of fixing (including service fees) to be around $120. We are asking for financial assistance to pay the invoice once repairs are completed.

Grandmother and child live in Harrisonville, we expect that the invoice can be paid over the phone.

Good afternoon. I am requesting community assistance to help a older pregnant homeless youth on my caseload with getting some temporary food assistance. The youth in question is 19, pregnant, and a MO Children's Division Foster Youth. The youth is 4-6 weeks pregnant and is currently couch surfing until a permanent safe placement option can be found for her. We are requesting $100 gift card at maybe Walmart to help the youth purchase food for the next month. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Good afternoon. I am requesting community assistance to help a 19 yr old pregnant homeless Foster Youth with getting a temporary storage unit to store her stuff until she can find stable housing. The youth in question is currently homeless and is couch surfing until we can locate a stable placement option. All of her personal items including clothing, , etc were being stored at a friends home but her "friend" no longer wants the items in her home and has threatened to throw everything out. We are requesting $150 to help with obtaining and paying for a 2-3 month storage unit so the youth has a safe place to store her belongings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

The family are re-integrating with children who have lived in another state for quite a while. The other children moved here to KC upon removal from an unsafe relative. They are with family that are biological relatives, but he says, " feel like strangers a little." The family have passes for all the other family members to Worlds of Fun and want to include this other child and his sister who have come to live with them.

The family bought the passes in year's beginning, before they knew these kids would be coming, so these other 2 kids are being excluded when they go, and it is not something that is fostering a good blending. It is causing some animosity. It would be a good bonding experience and prevent that other kids in the original family to now be angry when they have to miss the outings because " we have 2 people who don't have tickets, and it isn't fair." They have given up their home, and privacy and are now sharing bedrooms, when they were not, so it is kind of driving a wedge. It would be nice to get this done for them so they can have the unlimited for the rest of the year to include the Halloween haunt activities if possible.

The family have been through a nightmare with the issues. There was a serious situation which caused the family to have to be chaperoned at all times by several other people who were not living in the home naturally. Since this resolution, and no fault of the family, they incurred and are now receiving many additional expenses which they have paid most of. There were costs for one of the parents to be in a hotel, in additional to 2 other adults in their home for over 5 weeks costing more in the way of supplies, utilities and daily living needs as the parents could not transport or be alone with the kids. All the support people are gone, and they have exhausted the savings for this issue, they need help with the final $350.00 for the water bill (of which we have a copy) and then they will get back on track and can get things closed out with Children's Division. They are appreciating in advance of any help they can get.
