A single mother with three children (ages 3, 19, and 22) is in need of a bus pass to support her efforts to maintain stability for her family. The family recently lost their vehicle, which has made it difficult for the mother to get to and from work, attend medical appointments, and continue her job search.

Access to reliable transportation would greatly ease the family's daily challenges and support the mother in securing consistent employment. Most importantly, it would help ensure the youngest child can attend daycare and that the household remains stable while the family works toward long-term independence. Transportation assistance at this time would make a meaningful difference in the lives of all three children.

A single mother of three is seeking assistance to purchase orthopedic shoes for one of her children, who has been diagnosed with flat feet and is currently under the care of a podiatrist. This child has additional medical needs and frequent appointments, which has made it difficult for the mother to maintain employment at this time. In addition to the specialized shoes, the mother is also requesting support with clothing and footwear for her other two children. Providing these essentials would greatly ease the financial burden on this family and help ensure the children’s comfort and well-being. 54-year-old woman whose life has debilitating health conditions. She shares her small, cramped apartment with her daughter, who also lives with her own disabilities, and a tiny 4.5-pound chihuahua who serves as her devoted service dog. She has suffered through four agonizing knee surgeries, each one diminishing her mobility further, until she was finally left permanently confined to a wheelchair. The simplest daily tasks most people take for granted have become almost insurmountable challenges. Even in the face of such unending adversity. Trapped on the second floor of an apartment complex without an elevator, she has faced moments of humiliation and danger. Unable to climb the stairs, she once had to be carried by the fire department back up to her home—an experience that left her feeling helpless and exposed. When her health and safety demanded she move to a ground-floor unit, she did everything she was asked. She provided documentation from her physician, only to be told that even medical proof of her dire need would not guarantee any relief. She was forced to file a complaint just to be moved to the top of the waiting list. Finally, there was a glimmer of hope, and a First-floor apartment maybe available so she began packing her belongings in anticipation of a safer home. She is only asking for help to pack up her apartment in a way that will be in compliant with fire code, while she waits for her safer home on the first floor. Family is working with 123 Moving -

A kinship caregiver is asking for any assistance with clothing for two children in her care. She is on a fixed income, trying to make ends meet when she took on two children in her family that needed her help. The caregiver reports the need for size 6/7 in clothing and size 12 shoes for the little boy and size 5/6 in clothing and 11 in shoes for the little girl. The caregivers are working multiple jobs to support the rising costs of caring for children that needed their help. They additionally will owe $245 for a Duke utility bill and although they have set aside the funds to support this bill, they are moving into a bigger place soon to support the two children they have taken in. Move in costs are rising and any help to support this family would be more than appreciated. Thank you for considering this family in your blessings and prayers.

We are requesting support for two siblings 6 (M) & 9 (M), who were recently placed in a foster care placement. To help provide a safe, comfortable, and organized environment, the family is in need of twin Bunk Beds and two (2) five-drawer dresser. These items will allow the children to have their own personal space for rest and storage, promoting stability and emotional well-being during this transitional period.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

The caregiver and her family are requesting assistance to cover the rest of her rental payment for this month. The caregiver received the placement of her nephew in February, however, has been struggling with his behavior at school which has caused her to miss out on work. The child has been kicked out from several daycares due to his behaviors, and the caregiver has had to miss work to pick him up and stay with him during the day. The child has a history of trauma which they are working through in therapy and with medications. The caregiver and the team are looking for services for the child to manage their behavior. The caregiver wants to keep the placement of her nephew but needs extra help due to the circumstances. The caregiver is currently receiving funding; however, it does not cover her total rent. The case manager was able to get funding for the child to attend a summer program, which would allow the caregiver to work fulltime without interruptions. The caregiver will be able to cover her future rent payments once the child is in summer care.

4. Description of Request: Mother is the sole caretaker for both of her children. Mom has a stable job and is working towards getting a second job currently. If the family could receive $300 to put towards a hotel stay, it would ensure that mom and the children would have a safe place to stay for the next two days while they search for their new home.

The client is a single mother with a 17-year-old son. The mother has been battling cancer at a severe stage. The child was planning on going to job corp to finish his GED and get a degree in a trade but that was shut down. He now is going to school, but he is having a hard time getting there. His mother has no transportation and does not leave the house much unless it is for doctor’s appointment. They have a bus station in front of their apartment. A bus pass would alleviate the cost of transportation, and it would allow the child to get an education. The mother is unsure how much longer she will be around and is trying her best to make sure her son has the means to care for himself. Thank you!
