We are receiving young women at our new location for youth aging out of foster care. To support these young women as they transition, we urgently need a washer and fryer. Having these appliances will allow them to was their clothes conveniently, ensuring they have access to clean clothing. This essential resources will serve multiple young individuals againg out of foster care and help them maintain their dignity during this challenging time.

CPS is working with a family who has a baby that has health issues. The baby is underdeveloped and is needing several cans of Elecare Formula per month, however their WIC only allows them to have a certain amount per month. The family could benefit from 5 more cans for this month. 14.1 oz cans run between $40 to $60 per can depending on where you buy them from. The family could also benefit from a gas card to help with transportation to and from the hospital or money to help with food for the family while they are at the hospital. Any help for this family will be greatly appreciated!

A young female in her 20s has taken on the responsibility of caring for her friends child. This was temporary, but that will soon change.

Who: female/10 months old Needs: Size 5 diapers, baby wipes diaper rash cream, and a baby swing.

This need will help this young lady get off to a start with some items to help during this transition process.

We just got a new case and the mother just gave birth to her 6th child. Family moved to TN 2 years ago and is currently homeless. Family does not have any resources/ food/ or clothing. Family does not have any supplies (bottles/ pacifiers/ diapers/ wipes for the new born baby. The family was staying between their car and a hotel. Any assistance for the family will be greatly appreciated.

CPS and RL are working with a Coffee county family who is having to relocate for a job opportunity in Murfreesboro to gain stability. The family could use assistance with hotel lodging to get them started, they are having to move from their current living situation and have limited funds. The family does not have transportation either. If we could fund the hotel stay for a few nights then we can ask state funding to extend the hotel until their first pay check comes through. The mother had to allow the younger two children to go with their fathers but still has her youngest son with her. Any help is much appreciated!

A foster family has recently accepted a sibling group of 3 girls into their home. The children enjoy playing with other children in the neighborhood and are in need of 2 16 inch bicycles for the older 2 girls (ages 4 and 5). New or gently used is fine but we prefer something that is girly in color or design (like Minnie Mouse, Frozen, etc).

There is a need for clothing hangers (100+), a bookshelf (1+), and clothing racks (1+) for the children's clothing closet. These items can be used. The hangers can be different sizes and made of different materials. Clothing racks with just one bar is preferred and they can either be stationary or have wheels on them. The bookshelf needs to be big enough to hold 10 pairs of shoes and a few bins for socks and other undergarments. If you have recently cleaned out your closet and have unused hangers taking up space. We will gladly take them off your hands. If you have a bookshelf and/or clothing rack that you are no longer using, you can donate it to us.

The worker is requesting on behalf of a kinship parent and her grandchildren:

We have been working with them to receive foster care payments, but due to a recent move there have been issues with the payments. The family is in need of rent assistance in the amount of $959 for their July rent. We are asking for this assistance while we coordinate the payments for this family.

Who: Maternal grandmother whom has recently been granted temporary custody for her 2 grandchildren. Needs: Food gift card, gas gift card, and Walmart gift card. She also needs a double stroller for the 2 children.

Who: 3 y/o female Needs: Size 3T-4T pull-ups, Baby Wipes, 4T life jacket

Who: 1 y/o female Needs: Size 5/6 Diapers, Baby Wipes, 2T life jacket

Who: Both the 3 y/o and 1 y/o children are needing a swing set.

The needs will give the grandmother some help on the front end so the children and her can have a smooth transition. This was unexpected and by the looks of the case, she will end up with full custody. The children love the water and playing outdoors. This would just bring some normalcy to the home while caseworker, and attorneys are visiting multiple times. The food and gas cards are self-explanatory, but the Walmart gift card is to buy them clothes or necessities that they need. After this, the family should be on their way to a much easier path.

CPS is working with a family that has the following needs, any help is much appreciated!

I have a family household that consists of a mother, a grandfather near the end of his life, a special needs 19 year old boy, and a special special needs 14 year old girl in Lawrence County who's home is in disarray. The family is needing a dumpster to help clear out trash from inside the home, cleaning supplies to include a broom, dustpan, mop, rags, trash bags, and bleach. A quote for the dumpster was 475 a week.

Resource Linkage is working with a mother of 2, recently separated and trying to make ends meet. The mother had money saved but was charged for student loans and also tax refund taken due to new policies in place. The mother is working with a tax advocate to be re-imbursed but does not have enough money saved at the moment to pay her back rent. She does not get paid until July 15 and is in danger of facing eviction if her rent is not paid by June 30. RL will link the mother to community resources for eviction prevention assistance, any help in funding this emergent need is appreciated.

Case worker is working with a kinship placement. The children in this case, were placed with their great grandparents,. they were unable to keep caring for them long term and we found new placement for the children. It is reported the children, and her home now has bed bugs from them coming to live with her and she is requesting assistance with remediation of the bed bugs in her home. She has several other children in the home also, which this is affecting. Family would be very grateful for the help and look forward to being a stable placement for the young children.
