Cherokee County DFCS seeks assistance for a family in need of cleaning supplies, an exterminator or funds to help cover a professional cleaning. The condition of the home is not suitable for children at this time. We have a single mother and her 4 children, 3 of which are special needs. DFCS has an open family preservation case and has been working with her to improve conditions of her home. There is a roach and gnat infestation all throughout the home, which has made the home unsanitary. There are roaches on the children's beds. The mother does not have funds to cover an exterminator nor a professional cleaning business. The mother lacks a support system and is overwhelmed due to being a single parent. The mother is also in need of bedding for the children (twin size), given that the ones they currently have are filthy and old. In addition to this, the home is in need of deep cleaning. The mother received a Notice of Violation from law enforcement stating that she needs to clean the front yard and clean up all trash and miscellaneous items by July 25th. Two girls are struggling with Lice. The foster family has attempted the in home treatments and the infestation has reoccurred. Lice Treatment centers of America has a treatment that they guarantee however it is not covered by insurance. The cost is 99 dollars per child.

Grandmother is kinship placement for four grandchildren. The toilet in the bathroom has stopped working, she is not sure what happened and the hot water in the bathroom sinks has stopped working. Also glass pane in one of the house windows needs replaced, the window is in good condition just missing one glass.

The family does have one working vehicle. The children could also use somethng to play with such as balls, toys, toys for a 1 year old toddler, and the girl in the family is 4 years old. The mother has worked with the department to reach and maintain sobriety, and has continued to remain sober for nearly 6 months! She has been proactive and diligent in working her case plan, and has made significant changes to her situation. The mother has secured more stable housing for the family, and anticipates being able to move into the new home on July 1st; however, the children are in need of mattresses at the new home. The mother has maintained steady employment, and continues to show significant progress on her journey. Having assistance with this would be an incredible help to strengthen the family, and help them to get a new start in their new home! Items can either be purchased and meet with case manager, or monetary donations made for case manager to purchase the items for the family. Thank you so much!

The family has two young boys, ages 5 and 1 and a half. The mother and children stayed with the paternal grandmother for several months while the mother completed substance abuse treatment, and she has successfully maintained her sobriety for 10 months. The father has maintained his sobriety for 10 months as well, while living in the family home and working to get the home into livable shape for the boys to return home. The boys now have their own room, but are in need of a twin mattress for the 5 year old, as well as a car seat for the 1 year old child, as he has moved up in car seat sizes. The family has continued to excel in working their case plan, and alleviating these two needs would be an incredible help to strengthen their family unit! We are in need of assistance for three boys: 4, 7, and 9 years old. They have been in foster care due to their parents ongoing substance use for 2 years. They are trying to move to a relative placement but they are in need of a few things to get ready for them. They need a set of bunk beds for the boys to sleep on.

They are also in need of a new back door for the home, tile for the flooring, and wood slacks to replace the floor in the bathroom.

The boys are currently living out of totes and are in need of something to help with storage.

The family is working so hard to improve their home for the boys to be able to get out of foster care.

The child (14-year-old female) is needing some essential items. She will be starting high school in a few months. She is placed with a relative while the father is working a case plan. The family requested that they are needing assistance with receiving clothes for back to school. She is a medium in shirts and was stated to vary in pant sizes from 5 to 9 depending on the style. She is on the smaller side. She wears a size 7.5 shoe.

Mom has been trying to manage 4 special needs children on her own. The home needs to be cleaned and trash removed. The house also needs to be sprayed for roaches and other insects. The family has limited resources and mom is overwhelmed trying to manage the situation alone. She has limited family in the area that can help her with watching the children so that she can clean up the home.

We are in need of assistance for a single mother and two children: 9-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy. They have recently escaped a domestic violence situation with the father of the children. He was not allowing the mother to work or make her own income, so she is behind on her car payment. She was able to get a job since he was incarcerated but needs her car payment paid so the family does not lose their transportation as she is using the money from her new job to meet the basic needs of the children. Anything you can give to help would be greatly appreciated!

This is a family of 2 out of 4 children. Two of the boys 14 & 8 are placed with Kinship placement. Their parents are not able to assist with the children right now due to income. The family is living with in a 2-bedroom apartment with a total of 4 people in the home including 3 boys. Our two children are currently sleeping on an air mattress downstairs. The aunt is requesting bunk beds for the boys. The rooms are too small for 2 beds each right now. Placement is not able to buy a bunk bed right now. Any help would be appreciated to get the boys adjusted in the home.
