We are working with a caring grandmother who is taking care of her grandchildren full time, but she was diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. As a result of the therapy she is losing her hair, and it is causing her a lot of emotional distress, since she is not able to afford a wig. Helping her to feel dignified will make a significant difference in her life and will add to her emotional well-being and also that of her grandchildren.

A sweet seven-year-old girl in Teller County is in need of the community’s support and care. Despite all this precious child has been through, she’s a bright and joyful spirit who loves to draw, write, swim, play outside, and express herself through acting. She is now in a loving foster home where she’s beginning to feel safe and supported, and she enjoys sharing her creations with those around her. One small thing that could make a big difference in her healing journey is a noise machine (under $40) to help her sleep better at night. Sleep is essential for her emotional and physical well-being, and her foster family is doing everything they can to give her the stability she deserves. I am reaching out on behalf of a family in need of support. The family consists of a devoted elderly woman who adopted her niece as a baby, stepping in to provide love and stability when the child was at risk of entering the foster care system. Now a teenager, this young woman is preparing to begin her senior year of high school—grieving the recent loss of her father while continuing to thrive academically. Despite the challenges they face, the teen has maintained straight A’s and has her heart set on attending Louisiana State University to pursue a career in forensics. She would be the first in her family to graduate from high school and attend college—an extraordinary milestone made possible by her resilience and her adoptive mother’s unwavering support. Due to her age, the adoptive mother is unable to work and lives on a very limited income, making it difficult to manage the growing expenses of senior year. However, she is determined to give her daughter the full experience she’s earned so she can feel the pride and joy of her accomplishments. I am requesting a $150 Visa gift card to help cover some of these expenses, including school supplies, a senior ring, and graduation items. This support would not only help ease a financial burden but would also be a meaningful investment in a young woman’s future and a celebration of all she has achieved.

This client is a current client and was abortion minded, but now is continuing with the pregnancy. Boyfriend abandon her with that decision to continue with the pregnancy. He left her with a $841.23 electric bill. She is asking for help to pay that bill. She does have a two year old had the baby in May.

The Department of Human Services is reaching out to request $500 in Visa gift cards to help support a young man who is working hard to learn how to drive. These funds will be used to cover essential expenses such as driving lessons, permit fees, and practice time, giving him the opportunity to gain the skills and independence he needs. A mother of 3 children, two boys and a girl, has been completing her probation in Georgia. She has recently become homeless and due to loss of employment and safety concerns, she no longer has anywhere to stay. Her sister, who lives in NJ, has offered to have mom come out there to stay with her for a few weeks so she can help her get a plan in place to either stay there or return to Colorado, where her children are. A visa gift card of $300 will help cover airfare to New Jersey so she can stay with her sister for the time being. Thank you so much for your consideration!

The three children are in foster care here in Colorado Springs, and are hoping to have an in person visit with their father. He lives in Maryland, and is on SSDI so he is unable to pay for the full cost of a trip (flight and hotel) for him to come see his children. He is requesting assistance to cover some of the trip at least so he is able to see his kids in person.

The Department is working with a father whose 1-year-old is currently placed in foster care while he addresses the concerns that caused the case to open. He is currently in need of assistance with a rent payment. The primary company that employs him has switched contracts and laid everyone off and in the process of processing employees out, checks have been delayed. As a result, he is struggling to make his July rent payment. This father is getting engaged in all services, participating in visits, and highly motivated towards a reunification. Any assistance with this need so that this father can continue to focus on his case and bringing his daughter home is greatly appreciated!

Parents ages 52 and 44 years old have stated that they need financial support to obtain bus tickets to be able to have family time with their daughter in Denver Colorado. Parents have stated that they do not have enough SSI income to meet the need of purchasing bus tickets. Parents have stated that it is either bus tickets or their next meal. Their 8 year old daughter enjoys spending time with parents and seeing them once per week.

We're currently working with a family that has had to abruptly move due to their young sons being around negative influences and causing them to get into trouble. Due to the move they're needing help with beds for the children as they are currently sleeping on the floor. The move has been a great positive change for these children and we'd like for them to start getting better sleep.
