The youth had a physical altercation with the stepfather resulting in Law Enforcement being contacted. The stepfather was arrested and he is being deported from the U.S. He was working under the table and paying all the bills, the mother just had surgery and is unable to work at this time. They are trying to get things on track, and have no extra money for groceries. The youth reported that they eat a lot of shrimp, tuna, eggs, milk, veggies, and yogurt. Please consider helping this family during a difficult time.

Mother has left the childrens father due to him being abusive towards the mother. Mother and the children are starting over from scratch. Mother works full time but is struggling to make ends meet with having to find a new place to live and purchase everything needed for the home. Children are in need of beds as they are currently sharing beds and/or sleeping on air mattresses.

This family has fallen on hard times with the father recently lost his job. There are 4 children in the home and only 1 has a bed, while the other 3 children are sleeping on sofas. Please consider helping these children with 2 sets of bunkbeds, mattresses, and bedding! All children are males - age 7, 10, 11 & 12

The family is low income and struggles financially, and can't afford anything extra. The children in the home are small, the 2-year-old got out of the home and law was contacted, DCS provided alarms for the doors. At the visit today CM was informed they figure out how to get the window open and was throwing out toys. CM was shown the letter from office. The family needs alarms or locks for the windows.

There are environmental concerns with the family. The caregivers are attempting to clean out the home and are in need of storage containers to store items that they want to keep, but are not used often.

2 year old's mother is actively working a recovery program and attending classes to get a professional licensure. The mother was recently given joint custody of her child. The mother does not have dining or living room furniture in her home. Furniture would help the child feel more at home at her mom's if she had furniture.

Re-post - A family needs help paying back rent for the month. The money has to be paid by the end of the month or they will be evicted. Eviction process has already started. The family is to be out of the home May 31st. The family does not have any viable options for places to stay. Payment will freeze the process and give the family time to look for alternate housing options. Verified information with landlord.

I have a family of a mother and three children who are in need of someone to donate their time to provide an estimate on how much it would cost to fix cabinets under their kitchen sink that have been destroyed by a rat infestation. The rats have ate through the water lines and the leaking water has destroyed/rotted the cabinets under the sink. The mother keeps the water to the kitchen sink turned off when not in use to avoid further damage. There are concerns that there is mold down there or that mold could develop. There are very young children living in the home. The mother owns the home and cannot afford to pay to have this fixed.

The family received an estimate for this need. It was estimated for a cost of $3000-$5000 to replace the cabinets and counter tops. We are looking for anyone that could possibly take a look and see if this job could be completed cheaper. I don't think the counter tops need to be replaced if there is a way to fix the cabinets without removing the counter tops. It's the floor of the cabinets that have been damaged by water/rats eating them.

This family consists of a single mother and 6 children. (4 whom live in the home, 1 residing with kin, and a child that is currently in custody of DCS that will be returning home soon). This family has severe trauma and other past concerns. The father is deceased and the family has no other reliable supports. Mother works but is barely able meet daily needs. This family is resilient and has strength as a family unit that has kept them in their home for over 15 years. The home needs a sturdy front door and 4 Exterior windows or new replacement glass. Repairs will help in the cost of heating/cooling the home. The act of kindness will help the family with their emotional and mental health knowing that they will be safe in their home. Updated 5/20/2025: Honey Do Services Provider has been scheduled for a free estimate to assist in the installation of windows/door. Updated 5/30/2025: Quote on the installation of the door and 4 window replacements results in a complete estimate for purchase of materials, removal and installation, and trash haul/cleanup following installation of $1,700 total. The provider can complete the job by August. This single mother owns the home, works full time, and is in process of acquiring a 2nd job to manage the basic needs of the 7 person family. This family has worked with DCS to keep the family together and striving for success to complete the identified concerns on the permanency plan. Thank you!

An update to the request for home services for the Murphy family. Case worker Skipper Manns was able to meet with a reputable company, Honey Do Services, to acquire an estimate on the installation services required to complete the service request. Honey Do services estimates that the total for fenestration is as follows: door and windows $700, removal of existing doors and windows in a house of this age and installation of new $750, trash, clean-up, and disposal is $150, and additional materials needed (nails, screws, caulking, ect) $100. Total cost of everything is $1700. The projected completion of this service is by August 1, 2025 before the children return to school; CM Skipper Manns will photograph and document the services to share with the sponsors of this much needed service for a well deserving family. This blessing along with the diligent effort of the family, will be beneficial in continuing efforts to keep the family from coming into the custody of DCS. This single mother and her children are following all recommendations of the department and are continuing to improve their family story daily. Thank you for all the previous donations, and it would be a great support and relief for the family to finish out the service request with the additional assistance. The camper requires immediate repairs and upgrades to make it a safe place for this young person, who is facing a challenging and unsafe living environment. The living space inside the camper is deteriorating, and the conditions are contributing to a sense of instability and danger. This teenager deserves a safe and secure space to call home, and with your help, we believe that we can improve their situation and provide them with a chance to feel safe and comfortable.
