A new foster parent recently accepted a third teenage girl for placement. This was originally a temp placement for a weekend but the foster parent would like to let the teen stay. Foster Parent is converting a room into a bedroom for two of the three teens and needs help making it possible. Due to the size of the bedroom they need two tall chest of drawers and two nightstands. The teens and foster parent are asking the the nightstands actually be two, two-drawer filing cabins that lock. That way the girls can lock up their sentimental items and money . (FP would have a key as well)

Both parents recently lost their jobs and are having a hard time. Family has requested help with gas fund and groceries to help get them on their feet until they can secure another job. Family has potential prospects for jobs and will need to be able to get to interviews.

This mother and father have done extremely well in maintaining her sobriety after reunifying with her children. However, there are 8 family members in a 2-bedroom apartment. The family has worked very hard to obtain a 5-bedroom apartment, but some of the beds are very worn or are air mattresses that have popped. Please consider assisting this family in maintaining their success.

The family is struggling finically mother is pregnant with twins and father has some mental health issues. No one in the home is working. The family needs help with beds and clothes for the children.

A single mother needs to have trash hauled off from her home to the local dump. The mother has trash bags and boxes to dispose of. Due to the passing of her late husband, she has fallen into a state of depression. The mother was willing to receive help from the department. The mother is raising four children on her own, with only the help of her mother. The mother needs assistance getting these to the dump due to her not having a big enough vehicle to take these items. The mother needs these bags hauled off as soon as possible due to the city having complaints of garbage.

There is a 5 month old baby in the home who has little to no baby items that are needed. Both parents are struggling to make ends meet and feed all of the children in the home as well. The baby is in need of size 2 diapers - pampers only - allergy to others, pampers scented wipes, basinet fitted sheet, 6 month - 12 month boys clothing - onsies, shirts, shorts, socks, baby pacy clip, johnson's cotton touch shampoo and lotion - specific due to allergy. The family needs help with money for food to help feed all of the children.

Domestic violence relationship between the mother and father. Father has left the home due to a no contact order and the mother is struggling to make ends meet on one income. Mother receives food stamps but reports they have not lasted for this month and the family is low on food. Requesting a gift card for mother to catch up on groceries for Walmart or Food City or a food box delivery.

Family recently got their own apartment and were not able to bring a lot of items with them from the last home. The children do not currently have beds to sleep on in their new apartment nor anywhere to store their clothes, causing environmental issues. Family is in need of two bunk beds for the children, a toddler bed, pedding for the beds, pillows for the beds, and a large dresser for all of their clothing.

Single mother has regained physical custody of her 4 children and has secured safe and stable housing for them.

Children are Female age 16 Female age 11 male at 8 male age 5

Children could benefit from school supplies and the family could use cleaning supplies and normal household items as she is starting with very little.

The department has been assisting family with pest control treatments. Home of 3 children need assistance with 3 twin mattresses and plastic covers for mattresses.

This family consists of a single mother and 6 children. (4 whom live in the home, 1 residing with kin, and a child that is currently in custody of DCS that will be returning home soon). This family has severe trauma and other past concerns. The father is deceased and the family has no other reliable supports. Mother works but is barely able meet daily needs. This family is resilient and has strength as a family unit that has kept them in their home for over 15 years. The home needs a sturdy front door and 4 Exterior windows or new replacement glass. Repairs will help in the cost of heating/cooling the home. The act of kindness will help the family with their emotional and mental health knowing that they will be safe in their home. Updated 5/20/2025: Honey Do Services Provider has been scheduled for a free estimate to assist in the installation of windows/door. Updated 5/30/2025: Quote on the installation of the door and 4 window replacements results in a complete estimate for purchase of materials, removal and installation, and trash haul/cleanup following installation of $1,700 total. The provider can complete the job by August. This single mother owns the home, works full time, and is in process of acquiring a 2nd job to manage the basic needs of the 7 person family. This family has worked with DCS to keep the family together and striving for success to complete the identified concerns on the permanency plan. Thank you!

An update to the request for home services for the Murphy family. Case worker Skipper Manns was able to meet with a reputable company, Honey Do Services, to acquire an estimate on the installation services required to complete the service request. Honey Do services estimates that the total for fenestration is as follows: door and windows $700, removal of existing doors and windows in a house of this age and installation of new $750, trash, clean-up, and disposal is $150, and additional materials needed (nails, screws, caulking, ect) $100. Total cost of everything is $1700. The projected completion of this service is by August 1, 2025 before the children return to school; CM Skipper Manns will photograph and document the services to share with the sponsors of this much needed service for a well deserving family. This blessing along with the diligent effort of the family, will be beneficial in continuing efforts to keep the family from coming into the custody of DCS. This single mother and her children are following all recommendations of the department and are continuing to improve their family story daily. Thank you for all the previous donations, and it would be a great support and relief for the family to finish out the service request with the additional assistance. Update: First thank you to all those that have generously donated to this family. The family received another blessing, the child that was states custody has been returned to the mom! At the last home visit this mom has made this home absolutely inviting, its clean, organized and full of love ready for the last improvements to its sustainability. There is the additional $600 needed and the family can get the repairs requested on the home to aide in so many areas, including energy costs, functionality, and above all safety! Thank you again for blessing this family. The goal is to have this completed in time for the new school year and upcoming hustle and bustle of a single mom of 6 children who is doing an amazing job and just needed a little encouragement, positive motivation, and belief that she could count on her community to help when she didn't know where to turn. We can all use that sense of belief in community and it is greatly appreciated to keep this family exiting state involvement and the ability to continue to be successful in the future.
