This brave foster family recently made the difficult decision to relocate from the Midwest to Florida in search of safety and stability. In the midst of their transition, they’ve continued to prioritize the well-being of their foster child, who receives regular therapies to support his development. Due to unexpected gaps in insurance coverage during the move, the family now faces a $200 medical bill for therapy services they didn’t know would no longer be covered. The provider cannot accept their current insurance, and they’re doing their best to manage it all on their own. This family has shown great courage, love, and commitment through all the challenges they’ve faced. A little help now would go a long way in encouraging them and reminding them that they’re not alone as they settle into a new community.

This request is for a family of 6. The mother is a single parent, divorced from the father due to domestic violence. She works full time and received limited child support. The mother cannot afford summer camps for four children but is hoping to have activities for them to do while she is working. The maternal grandmother is able to assist with supervising the children. The children love any activities outside, especially in the water. The family is requesting outdoor activity items for the children. -Items such as: splash pad, reusable water balloons, water slide/slip and slide, Bean Bag Toss Game, Bean Bag Tic Tac Toe, adjustable batting tee. This family is in need of assistance obtaining formula for their 6-month-old. Both parents work, they do not have reliable transportation, and are currently living in a motel. The baby is eating both formula and has started to eat some solids specifically for babies (jar baby food and rice cereal). Mom is having trouble obtaining WIC benefits due to not having all the required paperwork; she has applied for SNAP Food Stamps but their benefits are pending. I am submitting a CarePortal request on behalf of a family that is working with our program. The youth is in need of a computer for schooling purposes. She is currently not attending school due to excessive bullying, which has led to significant struggles with depression and anxiety. As a result, the youth is interested in completing her education online and working toward earning her GED. She’s being raised by her grandmother, who is doing her best to support her and create a path toward success. However, they do not currently have the resources to provide her granddaughter with a laptop, which is essential for accessing online schooling programs. I’m requesting a laptop through CarePortal to help support educational goals in a way that accommodates her mental health needs. Thank you for your support!

This high risk family is in need of assistance getting blow up mattresses. Mom is a single parent of three (ages 9, 6, and a newborn). Mom is currently staying at a friend's house due to needing air mattresses for her new apartment. The baby has appropriate sleeping arrangements. Mom could use air mattresses for herself, the 9 y/o and the 6 y/o to help push up her move into the new residence. Real bed/bedframes have been secured from another community resource and are pending, but she needs the air mattresses in the meantime so she can sleep at her new place. Thank you and God bless!

The STEPS program has been working with a mother of three for a few months now. The mother is attempting to establish housing of her own so that she can remove herself and her children from a turbulant household. With the help of STEPS and the Homeless Coalition, the mother has been able to obtain an apartment with a move-in date of May 2. However, the mother is in need of assistance with paying the utlity deposits in order to get the utlities turned on. The mother reports that they need $50 to turn on the electric, $279 to turn on the water, and $50 for the security deposit for the apartment.

The family members have all suffered trauma related to the children's father (not in the home) The documented and verified abuse is of a highly sensitive nature. The mother has and will suffer negative impacts likely the rest of her life. The children are negatively impacted related to developmental delays and behavioral challenges as a result of the abuse. The impacts have resulted in the children having to live in separate locations until the mother's subsidized housing can be adjusted to 3 bedrooms to accommodate the special conditions. One of the children are residing with a guardian 40 minutes away. Alternative housing is expected to be ready for the family by July. The other works full time and the child residing with her requires constant supervision when not in school/daycare. As a result, the mother is struggling to obtain items needed to better manage the household. -Cleaning Supplies needed: Spin mop, bucket, floor cleaner, glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, dish soap, disinfectant spray, all-purpose spray, toilet bowl cleaner, scrub sponges, broom/dust pan, brooms, cleaning sprays, sponges, dusters. -The family is in need of two (2) medium dog cages for at home to accommodate their dogs.

Gas card to assist with transportation to visit other child - $150

A single mother of 3 children had fallen on hard times as her rent began to increase. She became unable to afford her rent and was evicted. She and her children have been temporarily staying with a family member, and she is just now starting to get back on her feet. The mother started a new job about one week ago and has not yet gotten her first paycheck. Her plan is to save up so that she can move into a new place. The mother needs assistance with gas to get to and from work. She would be greatly appreciative of a gas card. If this request is met, the mother will be able to be more self-sufficient as she works toward securing housing for her and her children.

The caregiver is a single mother of a 13-year-old and in November 2024 her new-born grandson was placed with her through the courts. Her grandson was born with multiple substances in his system and has been going to numerous doctors. The grandson is doing well and growing and thriving with his grandmother. He is now at the stage where he needs a Highchair.

This family currently does not have a kitchen table at all. I want to help the mother make the house a home for the children since basically it’s bare bones in there. The mother is a single mom who just started a job, and they have minimal income. The two girls are sleeping with mom and their 9-year-old brother. The little girls both need 2 toddler bed frames, 2 toddler mattresses and toddler bedding. The family could also use your help with a kitchen table.
