A single mother who is currently working two jobs is in need of assistance with obtaining school clothes for her teen daughters. The teen daughters state they do not know their current sizes or shoe sizes and would need to go and try things on. This social worker will update the sizes if they are provided.

A single unemployed mother of three children is currently living on a fixed income. The family has struggled with homelessness and are temporarily renting a room in a shared small apartment. The mother was finally reached on the section 8 list to receive a rental assistance voucher. The mother and children are close to obtaining their own housing. The mother does not have a copy of her or 2/3 of her children's original birth certificates. This paperwork is necessary for receiving a voucher. Each birth certificate is $32. A total of 3 birth certificates are needed for a total of $96. Anything donated would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!

This family is requesting assistance with pest control services. Due to their neighbors’ house being tented for fumigation, this family is struggling to treat a cockroach infestation. They experienced an increase in cockroaches shortly after the fumigation of their neighbor’s house. To help treat the issue, the relative care provider was using clove water spray around the home on a weekly basis, but it has not been sufficient. She has also made significant progress in preparing the home for pest control services by getting rid of unused items from inside and outside the home to eliminate hiding spaces for the cockroaches. The relative care provider also continues to clean throughout the home. Your support in aiding this family with pest control services will help improve the overall cleanliness and safety of the home to preserve placement of the dependent child.

The child was removed from the home and there is a relative placement that has been approved however, is in need of a car seat. The child is going to be three at the end of the month and needs a toddler convertible car seat. A previous request was sent requesting a toddler bed however, the family was able to find one and purchase it. The relative is attempting to find a car seat going to parenting network and other resources she can think of, but has not been able to locate one. The relative does not get paid until the following week and would benefit from some help.

This request is being submitted on behalf of a lead social worker in the Emergency Response unit with Child Welfare Services.

This request is for a family in which the caregiver is a single adoptive parent who took on the quest of adopting their grandchildren so that they could grow up with family. One grandchild has successfully been adopted by the caregiver and the other child is placed with the caregiver pending adoption. Helping children remain connected to family is important in preserving stable placement for all children.

The caregiver has some current challenges with mobility, which make it hard to move furniture or properly clean the home. This request is asking for assistance in helping the caregiver clean the home- either professionally or by volunteers. The home has clutter and debris that needs to be removed and needs to be cleaned overall. A cleaner home would improve the condition of the home/placement, which may improve the health and wellbeing of the children and assist in preserving placement with family. A single mother who recently had a couple surgeries is in need of school clothes and supplies for her 3 children due to her income being temporarily fixed. The children sizes/ages are; 13 year old boy wears size men's large in shirts, 30 x 29 in pants/shorts and size 9.5/10 in shoes. 11 year old boy wears size 18/20 in shirts and pants/shorts and size 6 in shoes. 6 year old boy wears size 7/8 in shirts and pants/shorts and size 2/3 in shoes. The children are in need of school supplies such as backpacks (older two children prefer Jan sport and the younger child likes Minecraft), pencils, erasers and notebooks. Back packs for all three children have been donated.

The need is for a Non-Minor Dependent, who is aging out of the Foster Care System, she returned to the Tulare County area after living in San Diego and having to leave her husband. She is currently in Transitional Housing and will be staying there, but is in need of baby clothes for her infant daughter, her daughter fits in 18-24 months size. She is also in need of basic kitchen items, vacuum cleaner, broom or swiffer, as she had to leave most of her stuff in San Diego. Any help would be appreciated for this youth and her daughter as they transition to independence.

The applicants are family members, and they have gained emergency placement of 3 children. The children are high-needs, and the family has been working really hard at meeting all of the court-ordered services. One of the children is in need of a high chair, as he is too small to sit in a regular kitchen chair. The family tries to include the children in all activities, including dinner at the table. The family is of humble means, and any support is appreciated.

A 1-year-old female will be placed in the same resource home as her minor mother, who is also a dependent, to avoid multiple placement changes. The resource parent has agreed to this arrangement in support of the anticipated reunification at the next court hearing in one month.

The resource parent has requested assistance with obtaining a car seat and a highchair. Providing a properly fitted car seat is essential to ensure the child’s safety during transportation. Additionally, a highchair allows the child to sit securely and safely during meals, preventing falls and promoting appropriate supervision while eating. Supplying these items will support the resource parent in maintaining a safe and stable environment for the child’s daily needs and ensure placement.

The family is having issues with the 10 year old child leaving the home and wondering around town. The family would benefit with window and door sensors/alarms to help alert them if the child is leaving the home without permission. This security feature in the home could be beneficial to the family to assist them in the supervision of the child.

I am requesting Care Portal assistance on behalf of a mother and her two children who were recently evicted from their home and are currently residing in an emergency shelter. The family has experienced significant instability, including lack of access to basic necessities and transportation. The mother is actively seeking support but has very limited resources at this time. She is in need of a gas card to help her retrieve their remaining belongings from the previous residence and attend scheduled appointments, including one to access further support. Any assistance provided would help stabilize the family during this difficult transition and ensure the children’s immediate needs are met in a safe and dignified manner.

I'm reaching out on behalf of one of the young mothers in our program who is currently in need of a crib for her 7 month old daughter. This young mom is a high school student who is working hard to care for her baby while continuing her education. Like many in her situation, she is financially limited and is need of extra support. A crib would provide her daughter with a safe and secure place to sleep and bring peace of mind to a young mom doing her very best. This gift will make a meaningful difference in their lives.
