A young professional stepped up to care for her niece after the child was removed from an unsafe home. While she's doing everything she can to provide stability and love, the unexpected responsibility has brought financial strain. She is asking for a bed frame, mattress, bedding, and dresser so her niece can have a warm, welcoming space of her own. With this support, her niece can begin to feel safe, at home, and truly cared for during this difficult transition.

This family includes four children ranging in age from newborn, 1 year old, 8 years old and 9 years old. While the baby has a crib to sleep in, the parents and other 3 children sleep on an old queen size mattress on the floor. They have a bunk bed frame for the two older children, but no mattresses. The family is experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford to purchase the mattresses themselves.

We are requesting 2 new twin size mattresses, as well as bedding for the beds (sheets, pillows and blankets), and face/body towels.

Adequate sleeping arrangements and proper sleep are essential for a healthy lifestyle. Filling this request will help improve the children's safety and well being and reduce stress and anxiety on the whole family.

Urgent Request for Support – Non-Minor Dependent SB We are seeking immediate assistance for a young single mother whose case will close with DCFS on July 6, 2025, when she turns 21. A young mother of two children (ages 1 and 5) she is a resilient and devoted parent who has consistently prioritized her children’s needs, but she is currently facing a serious crisis. After a recent separation from the father of her youngest child, who is no longer providing meaningful financial support, she is now struggling to meet basic expenses. Despite these challenges, she recently completed her CNA certification and is actively applying for positions, though she has not yet secured employment. She can cover rent through the end of July but is at imminent risk of homelessness thereafter. She is at risk of having to vacate her apartment at the end of July and has no family support; her mother passed away five years ago, and she has no contact with her father. She will soon be navigating this situation entirely on her own.

Reportedly, mother and father are currently experiencing financial hardships, and are in need of three twin sized beds or one bunkbed and one twin for the children, ages 13,10 and 8. Neither father nor mother are currently working, and the family cannot allocate funds towards a suitable bed for the children at the moment. The family is also in need of dressers for the children as their current dressers are falling apart.

Mother of a 7-month-old Babygirl suffered an accident. As a result, she suffered a traumatic brain injury. Mother has not been working since the accident and has been living on her savings and donations from her co-workers. Currently, Mother is running out of money and needs assistance paying her car payment and a highchair for Babygirl. The parents are dealing with unexpected expenses related to a very expensive surgery that the 5 years old needs to have as soon as possible due to a medical diagnosis. The parents are hopeful to be able to overcome the current struggles they are facing financially to be able to continue providing safe environment for the children to thrive. Currently the parents are co-sleeping with the 5-month-old, and are in need of a crib, mattress, and sheets so that the baby can sleep independently. The parents are not able to afford purchasing a crib at this time. Providing these basic necessities would diminish the emotional stressors on the family. By fulfilling this request, it would help the Department reduce the family's financial burden and help prevent court involvement and ensure family stability.

However, he has not been able to work much lately due to all the immigration enforcement currently going on in the city. The mother and father are also financially supporting the mother’s 16 years old daughter who has a 7-month-old baby of her own that also resides in the home. Currently, the mother and father are co-sleeping with the one-year-old child. The family is in need of a crib for the one-year-old to sleep independently. Providing these basic necessities would diminish the emotional stressors on the family. By fulfilling this request, it would help the Department reduce the family's financial burden and help prevent court involvement and ensure family stability.

This youth is a client of Regional Center living independently for the first time in his life. This youth has faced tremendous challenges, including the death of his mother a few years ago, and his father's paralysis. He has been in the system for many years, but he has finally managed to earn his high school diploma and obtain housing. He is currently searching for employment and working on removing barriers in his life to do so.

This youth needs support with basic household necessities, including toiletries, bath mats, and curtains.

I am currently working with a family in need. The household consists of a single mother and her three children—two boys, ages 11 and 6, and a 5-month-old daughter. The mother is incredibly resilient and has navigated many challenges throughout her journey in motherhood. At present, she is unemployed and under significant stress due to the father's absence from the home and his lack of support, particularly in caring for their 6-year-old son, who has been diagnosed with autism and requires high levels of care. The family lives in a single-family home with very worn furniture and limited clothing. Currently, the mother shares a mattress with both of her sons and her infant daughter. To help improve their living conditions and promote the children’s safety and comfort, the Department would like to assist the family in obtaining the following items: a trundle bed, twin mattresses. Providing these basic necessities would not only ease the mother’s emotional and financial burdens but also allow the children to have their own beds, helping them get proper rest to start their days well.
