The mother in this case is needing another phone card to ensure that she has consisent communcation with her team. The mother is working on communicating with her treatment providers and her parenting time worker to ensure that she is making it to her scheduled time. The mother is currently struggling with getting to and from her parenting time and transportation has been set up but she will need a phone to be able to communicate with the provider. A family has had DHS involvement for going on two years and had a sudden change a few weeks ago. The mother unfortunately ended her life and this has impacted her son (male - age 9). He is residing with his grandparents who are mourning the loss of their daughter while also working to support their grandson and help him process what he is going through at such a young age. The family is taking on additional therapy and could benefit from some financial support as they take on unexpected costs. The child enjoys playing soccer and driving at Raceway which he could benefit from some positive expression activities.

Requesting multi-layered support for family, ongoing financial hardships and food insecurity. Single father of a 7th grade girl that gets minimal child support/assistance from her mother. He is currently employed as a ride share driver but has inconsistent work hours which directly impact the household income. Due to the varying work hours childcare/after school care is not easily accessible when school is not in session. The family was recently informed that they are no longer eligible for Medicaid or food stamps (the EBT program). The family often struggles, running low or out of essentials in between paychecks, with little extended family to assist when struggling. When speaking with the father, he is preparing for a possible move in August because of projected income struggles versus affordable rent.

While the caregiver is committed to providing safety, stability, and overall support for all of his individualized needs. Having support with transportation will support kinship caregiver easing the burden of transportation to to maintain consistent transportation to school, therapy, and vital services. These routines are critical for the child's sense of normalcy, emotional well-being, and steady progress. The department is working with a 17 year old male that was previously involved in an abuse and neglect case. As a result of the trauma faced and also the family's gang involvement, he also was affiliated with that life style. He is currently in a placement that is supporting his transition out of that life and he is going through therapy to work through the abuse that he suffered. This youth has requested a amazon gift card to be able to get new clothes and shoes. As a result of this need being met he reports that he will feel more comfortable and confident in himself to create those pro-social supports with the other youth at this placement that he desperately needs and wants.
