We have a wonderful foster family that is currently in need of assistance with groceries. Not only would you be helping to preserve a foster placement, but you would also be taking some of the weight off of a single foster mom's shoulders. This mom is incredibly hard working and doing everything possible to help the children in her care, as well as support her own children in every way needed.

A foster home is accepting a pre-teen foster child for long term placement and most likely adoption. Their home is small and the child will be sharing a bedroom with her new foster sister. The family is looking for a tall slender dresser for the child to have for her own & it needs to fit in the bedroom.

This request is for a single mom that is in pain and is needing dental care. She does not currently have any dental insurance and there is a walk in clinic that will take her tomorrow but it does have small fees for extractions. She has 2 teeth that are throbbing and may need to be extracted. The cost is for extraction and care for each tooth is 150.00 per tooth. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Any assistance would be paid directly to the dentist.

Family of five is needing help to obtain a lawn mower to mow family yard. Three children age 4,6,9. Family is trying to clean up property, so children have a safe environment to play in. Mom has been trying to mow a whole property by weed eating the entire thing, which is very hard and time consuming. If the need is met and we can help this family, they would not only be able to have a safe environment for the children to play in, but mom would have more time to spend with the children and able to keep the yard cleaned up.

This request is for a family that is moving into their own place and is in need of plastic storage drawers, and a microwave to cook meals. This is not a need but something for the kids to play on outside would be amazing they are ages 3 and 8 months. Any assistance would be a blessing and appreciated!

Safe Families recently has connected with a young mother and her 5 year old son who is currently in a critical situation. She recently underwent surgery for ovarian cancer and is now preparing to begin dialysis treatment on May 5th. As the sole caregiver for her young autistic son, she has been unable to work since her surgery and is now facing the possibility of eviction.

She is currently $430 short on rent and has until Thursday, May 1st to make the payment in full. Without immediate assistance, she and her son will lose their home during an already overwhelming time of medical recovery and transition.

This is a mother who is fighting for her health, caring for her child, and doing everything she can to stay afloat. Meeting this need would not only provide her with stable housing, but with the peace of mind to focus on her healing and caring for her son!

Mother who needs transportation for family time at OKDHS office desperately needs a bus pass! Please help if you can. She is coming from the downtown area.

I have a family living in a sober living house that has moved into a room that had bed bugs. Now, all their stuff has been infected and we are needing money for a storage unit and 3 mattress protectors. The storage unit will be used to store all their things while we bomb them to kill any infestation. The family can not afford to replace all their items. The beds were purchased around 2 months ago and are new with new mattresses. We need the storage unit to also prevent the bed bugs from spreading to other areas of the home and disrupting more families. This is needed ASAP as we will have to address the issue today. This sibling set recently came into care with limited belongs or clothing items. They are currently placed in kinship foster home. First child is a 14-year-old male that wears 36-38 pants, large- xlarge shirts in men's, and a size 12.5 men's. Second child is an 8-year-old female who wears 10-12 girl in both shirts and shorts and size 3.5 in girls' shoes. Any help with spring or summer clothing would be appreciate. These children recently came into care. They are in a kinship placement, and we would like to assist in maintaining the placement. A set of bunk beds would help this placement at this time. One of the children is an 8-year-old girl who is sharing a room with another 15-year-old girl. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Single mother of a six-month-old infant boy is needing assistance with a monthly bus pass to get around town. Natural mother is compliant and engaged with all services on her plan and is on the right path to reunify with her son soon. Natural mother's only mode of transportation is the public bus. Natural mother has completed fingerprinting for a new job and is hopeful to be able to start soon and have an income. Thank you in advance!

A single mom of six children ages ranging from 3-13 years of age, including a 4-year-old with autism with special needs urgently needs housing. Mom is trying to protect her children from bio dad who has a history of domestic violence. Mom has fallen behind on her rent and is now ordered to move out Wed, April 30th. She has been diligently working on finding a new home and because of the size of her family she is unable to secure low income, federally funded housing due to lack of availability. She is on several waiting lists, including Section 8 but nothing is currently available. Her credit was ruined by her ex-husband, therefore, she has been unable to pass a credit check with other apartment/housing options. She has filled out numerous applications for transitional housing for singles moms and children. She was able to find an apartment in the children's current school district (to not disrupt children's day to day) that doesn't require a credit check but does require $1500 security deposit. She is able to come up with $500 on her own and she just started a job today to pay for her rent month to month. I am requesting $1000 to make up the $1500 in order for this family to not be homeless after April 30th. Any amount for funds will be greatly appreciated and we will continue to work to secure the remainder of the $1000 needed. Thank you so much.
