The children came to the attention of the Department due to physical abuse by the mother’s male companion. The father of the minors is experiencing mental, emotional, and aggressive behaviors and unable to care for the children. The children live with the mother and have previously faced challenges securing stable housing and lived with relatives. Last year, the family moved into a one-bedroom apartment where they have since found stability and enjoy the privacy of their own space. The mother is currently unemployed and seeking employment through the GAIN program. She occasionally takes on day jobs for sports and concert events. The mother has been compliant with her Court ordered programs. She remains attentive and committed to her children, striving to improve their situation and long-term stability. The children are doing well; they have adjusted positively to the changes and are attending a summer afterschool program. The mother is facing financial difficulties this month and is unable to cover the full cost of rent and her monthly bills. The mother is in need of $400 to cover the remainder of her rent.

We have a family that consists of the mother, father and 2-week-old baby. The family was homeless for quick some time but was able to finally secure housing. The family is struggling financially and is in need of assistance with the following items: baby boy clothes (sizes 0 to 3 months and 6 to 9 months), bottles, stroller and a baby tub. By fulfilling this request, it will assist the parents with providing for the baby’s basic needs.

Currently working with a family in need of a pack & play. Client delivered her baby via emergency C-section at 31wks. Father of baby has not been working due to caring for client and their older child. Father states he thought he had more time to save to purchase this items. The referred family is requesting assistance obtaining a bunk bed, full size bed, and two pack and plays for their five children. The single low income mother of five children and pregnant with her sixth child needs twin size bunk beds (frame and mattresses), a full-size bed and two pack and plays. The family share a one-bedroom apartment with another family and do not have proper furniture for sleeping. Mother currently sleeps on a non-pull-out sofa with her five-year-old and the two smaller children share a playpen to sleep. Older two children are not currently residing with mother however come over to visit and sleep over occasionally. The family would appreciate any help and want to explore all the options to make their children as comfortable as possible at home.

Mother is a devoted, mother of seven children, ages 5-18. The case came to the attention of DCFS due to physical abuse, general neglect and caretaker incapacity. She works tirelessly to rebuild her life and reunify with her children who are not currently in her care. She is overcoming financial hardships while staying committed to her sobriety. She diligently works to complete Court ordered programs. In addition to working temporary and odd jobs to make ends meet to maintain stable residence in prearrange of reunifying with her children. As part of her progress, her older children now have unsupervised visits, but the home lacks essential furniture to sit and sleep comfortably. This is an urgent need as the Court reported that the children are fast tracked to return to mother's care on 05/07/25. This request will ensure children's safety as the residence will be clean and furnished with beds so they won't have to sleep on the floor. This request will strengthen parental capacity by providing emotional and physical care. This request will lessen her stressors and free up some of her time to spend with her children ultimately enhance the potential for permanency. Any help, big or small, will bring her one step closer to providing a stable and loving home for her children. If you can contribute in any way, it would mean the world to this mother and her family. This family of four includes mom and 3 children (14, 9, 5). Family came to the attention of DCFS due to physical/emotional abuse from father. Mother has relocated herself and the children away from father. As a result, mother is experiencing financial hardship without father's assistance. Family lives in a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom home and they are in need of a sofa bed that seats three people. A sofa bed will provide a more comfortable living and sleeping space for the entire family, thereby increasing the safety and general well-being of the children and reducing stress and anxiety for mother allowing her to focus more on her family and reallocate her already limited resources to other needs for her children.

I am writing to request support on behalf of Mother, who is currently involved with our agency and actively working toward reunification with her children. Mother has successfully completed all court-ordered services and continues to demonstrate commitment to her personal growth and family well-being by regularly attending outpatient services.

A 16-year-old foster youth was recently placed with his paternal grandmother after years of not knowing each other. Despite the sudden placement, the two are working hard to build a relationship and create a sense of stability.

The grandmother, who is on a fixed income and currently receiving no financial assistance, is doing her best to support him. The youth arrived with only a few items of clothing, most of which no longer fit. He is in need of a new wardrobe and would greatly appreciate gift cards to Tillys, PacSun, or Zumiez. Even donated clothes in good condition would help. His sizes are: XL for undergarments, shirts, and shorts, and 38x32 for pants.

In addition, the youth needs a full-size bed frame, mattress, bedding, pillows, and a dresser, as the home was not prepared for his arrival. Since the grandmother does not have transportation, a bike and bike lock would also make a meaningful difference, helping him get to school and connect with his new community.

This young man has faced multiple placement disruptions, and providing some of these essentials could help him find the stability and comfort he needs in this new chapter of life. Any support—whether new or gently used—would be deeply appreciated. Thank you for considering this request.

Currently, her available funds have gone to paying her rent for the month of July. These items are essential for meeting the safety and dress code requirements of her employer. My client is a single mother who is determined to maintain stable employment to provide for herself and her young son. Access to this job will offer financial stability and support her long-term goal of self-sufficiency. Reportedly, mother and father are currently experiencing financial hardships, and are in need of three twin sized beds or one bunkbed and one twin for the children, ages 13,10 and 8. Neither father nor mother are currently working, and the family cannot allocate funds towards a suitable bed for the children at the moment. The family is also in need of dressers for the children as their current dressers are falling apart.

Mother with four children is in the middle of reunification services and thriving to get her children back. Her benefits were cancelled due to children being removed from home, so we are asking for rent assistance for rent on time for Jy. Assisting mother with this gift will prevent mother from being homeless and gives her children a place to return to once mother completes her court ordered programs and the family reunifies.
