The mother was able to secure a residence in Plant City close to her employer at that time. Her budget at the time indicated that she would be able to afford rent and expenses. However, in the wake of the back-to-back hurricanes in the Fall 2024, the mother was laid off. She was able to find stable employment in Tampa and reunified with her children in March 2025. However, her current income is insufficient to meet the needs to maintain the residence (which the landlord refuses to make repairs to) and cover the costs of transportation to her place of employment. The mother and the case manager have reached out to multiple community resources (Metropolitan Ministries, Catholic Charities, City of Plant City, etc.) but have been told that financial assistance is not available due to it being the end of the fiscal year. A FUP referral to Tampa Housing Authority has been made, but a decision has not yet been made. The mother worked hard to regain custody of her children but has been struggling especially since she does not receive child support from the father of the children.

This request is being made for a single mother with two children, 9 years old and 4 years old. The mother is a very caring and protective mother of her two children. The family members have all suffered trauma related to the children's father (not in the home) The documented and verified abuse is of a highly sensitive nature. The mother has and will suffer negative impacts likely the rest of her life. The children are negatively impacted related to developmental delays and behavioral challenges as a result of the abuse. The impacts have resulted in the children having to live in separate locations until the mother's subsidized housing can be adjusted to 3 bedrooms to accommodate the special conditions. One of the children are residing with a guardian 40 minutes away. Alternative housing is expected to be ready for the family by July. The other works full time and the child residing with her requires constant supervision when not in school/daycare. As a result, the mother is struggling to obtain items needed to better manage the household. -Cleaning Supplies needed: Spin mop, bucket, floor cleaner, glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, dish soap, disinfectant spray, all-purpose spray, toilet bowl cleaner, scrub sponges, broom/dust pan, brooms, cleaning sprays, sponges, dusters. -The family is in need of two (2) medium dog cages for at home to accommodate their dogs.

This family is in need of assistance for stabilization. The child was recently taken into the care of his aunt and uncle due to unsafe home conditions. The aunt and uncle are very hardworking, kind, and compassionate people who are doing everything they can to care for this child.

The child was unable to gather his belongings when he left the home, and is in need of some personal care items as well as clothing. The family is also in need of groceries.

The family will be able to stabilize after this initial transition period of the child moving into their home due to their jobs. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated by this awesome family.

I am writing to request a twin bed and mattress for a child who has been diagnosed with Autism. Due to his unique sensory needs and challenges with sleep, a secure and comforting sleeping environment is essential for his well-being. He struggles with settling down at night and this will provide a more restful nigh sleep. The family also needs two dressers to store their clothes. They also need a couch to create a comfortable and welcoming space for family bonding. If this request if met, it will ensure a safe place for the children to sleep. The family will have something to sit on and enjoy family time. They will have a proper place to store clothing.

The children were initially involved with the department for years ago. The younger child was born into the case. The children were initially placed together with another relative, but that caregiver recently passed away and the case reopened. The children have been with this caregiver since the beginning of the year and the caregiver is willing to provide long term placement for the children. The caregiver has not received any financial assistance for the care of the children. The caregiver recently had work completed in her home and this caused an increase with her electric bill. She is aiming to have the contractor address this increase however they have not been willing. She is also going to explore community resources during the last week of the month when funding is available. The caregiver is in need of assistance with paying her electric bill for $830.14. Bill payment assistance in any amount from $500 to not exceed $830.14. The caregiver may be able to pay around $300 depending on when the assistance is provided.

The caregiver is requesting food for her and the child. The caregiver is struggling to pay her rent and bills because she lost 3 weeks of work. The bio mother receives the food stamps and does not share with CG. The CG has had the child for 6 months with no financial support.

A caregiver is needing assistance with her current light bill. The bill is $191. Due to waiting for her benefits to start, the caregiver has been needing to pay out of pocket for many items. Once her benefits kick in, she will be able to pay for her light bill going forward. When the request is met, the family will not have their electric turned off. Any assistance with this is appreciated!

The children came into care again in early 2023. They were reunified with family however this placement has recently broken down. The children have been placed with this caregiver due to emergency purposes, and a court custody has recently been approved. This caregiver has jumped in without much financial assistance to help meet the immediate and ongoing needs of the children. The timeframe is still pending when the caregiver will be able to receive non-relative caregiver funding. The caregiver is in need of assistance to move the children’s items from their previous placement. When the request is met, the kinship caregiver will be able to continue providing for the children’s basic needs with their items at their new residence.

The caregivers were at risk of losing placement due to the environmental hazards in the home. During this time, the hurricanes caused damage to the caregivers’ basement and all the furniture in the basement was lost. The caregivers have been able to improve their home, however, need help to remove the destroyed furniture in the basement. The caregivers are requesting assistance renting a dumpster to remove all the old furniture in the basement and pass the home study. The caregivers are hoping to adopt the children and need to have an approved home study. The caregivers love the children and want to keep placement of them.
