Mom is looking for a queen mattress/box spring and a washer/Dryer. Mom had to move out of her last place into her mother's 6 months ago and had to get rid of most of her furniture. She has since moved into her own place, but didn't have beds for her or her daughter. She got an air mattress for her daughter and was sleeping on the floor herself until His Helping Hands was able to get her daughter a bed. Now the mom is able to sleep on the air mattress but needs a bed for long term. She has to spend most of her money on Ubers to get to work as she has to be there before the busses are running. She has been boiling water and hand washing their clothes and letting them air dry. If these needs are met, it will help strengthen this family.

Mom is having to move into a new apartment and needs help with moving as she cannot move the whole apartment by herself in a small car with 2 toddlers. Mom would like to move on 7/18/25.

If request is met, this will improve the children's wellbeing by having a permanent and safe home environment.

C.H. is a single mom of 4. They youngest is 3 and has become an escape artist. She has learned to unlock the door and get out when her brothers and sisters are watching her or while they are sleeping. C.H. has tried moving furniture around to cover the doors but is hesitant, in case there is an emergency, there would be a struggle to get out. C.H. is requesting extra door locks to place higher up on her doors so that her daughter can't reach and she can stop getting out.

Mom, has four children asking for help to purchase an alarm system for her house. One of her children 7 yr old boy has special needs, and he likes to sneak out by opening the door or windows. By helping mom provide the alarm system would be great to keep the child safe. CPS worker estimated the cost to be $50

Living in the home is MO, and 3 mo old baby who both live with grandmother, Family is struggling with financial stability. MO lost her job last week. Rent for them is $450 but behind in paying by $2,000. Home has a pet odor due to them being out of town and the dog sitter they had never came to check in on the dogs. MO is trying to clean the carpets and to get rid of smell. Mother also stated to CPS that she was running low on diapers CPS gave her diapers from DCF supply. baby wears size 3 diapers and can't use patent choice due to break out.

Kansas Kids Belong is excited to throw a Back to School Bash for local foster and kinship families! All local foster and kinship families, regardless of their licensing agency, are welcome to come enjoy games, goodies, giveaways and more at this "thank you for what you do" party!

Many back-to-school drives/events focus on the kids, so we want to offer something special for the caregivers at this one! We've made a wishlist of items to create over 200 fun and functional "survival kits" to give to the foster/kinship parents that attend.

Our goal with this event is to tangibly, visibly show these families that they are SEEN, VALUED, and SUPPORTED by their community. So we plan to shout out all of the church teams that pitch in for these gifts at the event so families know who stepped up for them! Thank you in advance!

JP is a mother of two who lives with her fiancé and her mother and step-father. Her son is 2 and her daughter is 5. She stays home with the children while her fiancé works full time. They currently have bedbugs and have tried to get rid of them but cannot afford to completely rid of them. The family needs assistance with bed bug extermination and new mattresses. They recently received a DCF report for the concern of the children's health and safety of the home due to bed bugs.

If this need is met, the children will have a better chance of remaining in the home.

This family is in urgent need of help with construction materials and, if possible, labor after their home was flooded by rains and flash-flooding in June. This family has been working on their home since June, taking out damaged flooring, cabinets, and drywall. This family is facing a daunting recovery process with their four young children (ages 3 months to 7 years). Adding to their challenges, the mother and two of her children suffer from hemophilia, a rare bleeding disorder requiring extensive medical attention and costly treatment. It is important to help this family fix their home to avoid molding issues, which could impact everyone's health. Thank you.

Mom of 2 lost primary job and now only has a PRN position at a nursing home, came in looking for rental assistance, and we helped her with that but she is in need of a dresser/dressers for her sons room so she has somewhere to store their clothes

I'm currently working with a new client, a single mother who just gave birth to her fifth child last week. Despite her efforts, she’s been facing financial hardship due to wage garnishments that began in November 2024, making it incredibly difficult to stay current on her rent. While we’ve already assisted with this month’s rent, she still has an outstanding balance of $1,320. She’s contributed what she can toward that amount, but with limited income, the gap remains significant. She is currently on maternity leave and won’t be able to return to work until mid-August. Although she receives maternity insurance, it only covers about half of her usual pay. Which is not nearly enough to meet all of her household expenses. We are seeking support to help cover her remaining rent balance. Meeting this need would allow her to catch up completely and maintain stable housing for herself and her five children.

The mother I work with is going back to school to finish her degree and is needing a laptop. She was close to finishing her degree when she got pregnant with her first child and has put it on the backburner while working full-time to provide for her family. The family is right on the edge of qualifying for additional financial supports and they don't have the extra funds for a laptop at this time. She will be working full-time as well as being in school and taking care of her children.

A mother of five currently resides with her parents and serves as the primary caregiver for her father, who recently experienced his fourth stroke. Due to his medical condition, he now requires the use of a walker for mobility. However, the family’s home has steps at the front entrance, which present a significant barrier to safe access.

The family is seeking assistance with the installation of an accessibility ramp at the front of the house. This modification is critical to ensuring the father’s ability to enter and exit the home safely for medical appointments and daily needs, while also reducing the physical strain on family members assisting him.
