Help Improve a Child's School Attendance
Good Evening, I am working with a 12th grader that has been absent many times due to the parent not having gas funds. The parent has been on sick leave from work and will be going in for major surgery. This student has shared with me that they do not have food or toiletries since the mother has to save all of her money for the rent. We would like to help this family with a Target card for $250. for food and toiletries and a $250. Gas Card to help this student get to school everyday. This student might not graduate if he continues to be absent and miss his class lessons. We appreciate any help that can be provided for this family. Thank you and may God Bless you!

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
I am reaching out on behalf of a family I’m currently working with who recently secured housing after experiencing homelessness for the past three months. While they are excited to begin this new chapter, they are in need of a bed, as they currently do not have one. A bed would make a significant difference in improving their quality of life and creating a more comfortable, stable home—especially for their child. If there is anyone who may be able to assist with a bed donation, it would be truly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and support!

Help Remove an Educational Barrier for a Child
This request is made on behalf of a family who is kindly requesting assistance with covering the cost of football requirements for their son. The student came into my office requesting assistance as he was taking initiative to find a way to participate in football for next year. The parent shared that he is working two jobs and his wife is unable to work due to the birth of their child recently. They have limited funds and have been using the student's dad's income from work for basic needs. The request is made to cover football camp and the bag that is used for football games as these are outside of the costs that the dad covered already for football. He shares that this is the extent of what they can cover and is requesting assistance to provide this student the opportunity to participate in a sport he is excited about.

Mother was able to leave the relationship and now has a full-time job and a 2-bedroom apartment now for herself and the baby. Mother’s income goes to maintaining the apartment and caring for her son. Mother does not receive child support or anything from the father. Mother’s refrigerator leaks and the door comes open and she has lost a lot of food.

Help Prevent a Child From Entering Foster Care
Family consists of a minor mother (17 years old) and her 1 year old child. Assistance is being requested for the purchase of a crib and mattress for the toddler. The family lives in a one bedroom one bathroom duplex, where the bedroom is shared by minor mother, the child and maternal Aunt. Mother stated the child has a crib at father's home, however she cannot afford to purchase one for her home. Mother is not receiving any public assistance at this time, and will apply once she turns 18 y/o. Co-sleeping, especially at a young age can pose significant safety risks. It is recommended that the 1 year old child have her own safe space to sleep where she can be comfortable.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
In 2019, a young teen boy was abandoned by his mother and the young man was raised in foster care as he did not return nor reunite with his mother. He was placed in group homes and faced challenges with his behavior as a teen until he met his girlfriend. When he found out his girlfriend was pregnant with triplets, he agreed to participate extended foster care to have a place to live and support his girlfriend and children. At age 20, he is now the father of four children, with the set of triplets aged 3, and a two-year-old. He currently secured an apartment with his girlfriend and children. However, his current income is limited and he spent his money on securing the aprtment and moving expenses. Therefore, at this time he cannot afford to purchase the additional start up home items. His social worker assessed the home and identified the following needs: a dining table with chairs, set of adult and children utensils, a set of pots and pans, blankets and four sets of crib sheets. We would greatly appreciate if anyone would be wiling to donate any item needed. Below are Amazon links if needed.

The children are very happy to be back in mother's care; which has helped their behavior at school. Mother just finished her CNA training course in hopes to help her find future employment. We are hoping to assist mother with a week of financial assistance to pay for her room via Booking.com up until she gets her CalWorks benefits on 5/1/25.

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing
A teenage single mother who is currently residing with her bio-father (single father) on his a humble single income household cannot afford to attend her prom. After speaking with the teenage mother's father, it appears she will be not be able attend her prom due to not having enough income to purchase her dress, shoes, and necessary items to attend this once- in a lifetime event. As her social worker, I would love to be able to allow her to attend her prom as she has gone through so many obstacles in life. Her mother abused her for most of her life, which resulted in her running away with her boyfriend who ended up physically abusing her too and endanging her baby girl. The teen mother is now living safely with her father and expected to graduate from high school this year. If you can assist, she would need about $250 to ensure the full cost of this event that she has expressed great desire to attend. The event will take place on 04/18/2025 so I would appreciate anyone who would be willing to help make this a reality to continue motivating her to achieve all her goals for her and her daughter.
