A single mother had her children removed from the home by JFS and she is successfully completing her case plan and has obtained housing so she can start over with the hopes of getting her children returned to her. She has transitioned to supervised in-home visits and will be transitioning to in-home unsupervised visits as soon as she can obtain adequate furniture. Any help is appreciated and is detrimental in getting JFS to approve her new apartment

A loving aunt recently and unexpectedly stepped up to care for her 7-year-old niece and her niece's 3-year-old sister, keeping the siblings together and providing them with a safe and stable home. She also has a young child of her own and is currently unemployed for the summer, as she works in a school setting and only receives income while school is in session. Although she budgets for the summer period, taking in two additional children has caused significant financial strain on her household. She is in need of groceries to help support the children until maintenance payments begin. Additionally, she needs a booster seat for the 7-year-old and a car seat for the 3-year-old so that she can safely transport the girls to appointments, activities, and visits. This caregiver has shown great love and commitment by taking on this responsibility with little notice, and your support would make a meaningful difference during this transitional time. A family of four is in need of diapers (sizes 6 and 7), wipes, a pack-n-play, and a front facing car seat (for a 2-year-old). The family is currently experiencing financial hardship due to the father's incarceration. These items would help ease the load on the mother who does not have family supports in the city and is struggling to provide financially on her own.

A four-month-old infant was removed from his parent's full-time care and placed with relative. The relative has just moved homes and provided items for the child but has many expenses currently. The relative has expressed need for a crib, mattress, and fitted sheet for the infant. The relative also shared that the infant is outgrowing their current clothing and is in need of new clothes. Infant is currently size 0-3, but now nearly needing sizes 3-6 months.

A mother is needing help paying her electric bill before 7/9 so it does not get shut off. Mother is a victim of domestic violence, dad is in jail and the one child was removed for bond conditions. The second child is at risk for being removed due to the bond conditions. There are no fees on the bill and this is a one time thing to help mom get back on her feet.

We are currently involved in an ongoing case concerning two siblings, a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, who have been in foster care. In the past, they have exhibited concerning interactions that require careful supervision. Their mother and a maternal aunt both passed away in a tragic car accident in January. Recently, another maternal aunt was granted custody of the children. Based on recommendations made in court by the Guardian ad Litem, it was advised that their sleeping arrangements be separate and closely monitored. The maternal aunt is employed and is the sole provider for her household, which includes the two siblings as well as her granddaughter, who is around the same age and has special needs. The family is requesting assistance with the purchase of an in-home surveillance camera to help the aunt maintain appropriate supervision and ensure the children's safety and well-being. The department is working with a kinship parent who has taken in her grandchildren. We have been working with them to get their foster care payments, but due to a recent move there have been issues with her payments. The family is in need of rent assistance in the amount of $959 for their July rent.  We are asking for this assistance while we coordinate the payments for this family. 

A young mother of 3 small children (ages 5mos, 1yo, and 2yo) is working towards reunification. She has two jobs, just got a car, and is making steady progress in the juvenile case. Mother resides in an apartment in Cape Girardeau and only has one small window (not very efficient) unit in her home. I was at the apartment last week and it was very warm. I am requesting two window units for the family to be able to have air conditioning in the home. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A kinship placement is in need of a bed, box spring, and bedding, he is currently sleeping on the floor. He does not have the funds to purchase a bed for himself.

Two young boys, ages 8 and 10, are placed with their maternal great-grandparents in Perryville, MO. The family is needing a window unit air conditioner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This young man is in need of a dresser and a bed frame that does not require a box spring. The young man needs this for his new placement in his room. This will help him become more comfortable and have his own space. The young man has been moved three times. Thank you!
