Help One Child - Contra Costa

A recently separated mother raising two boys on her own now (10 a month-old and five a 5-year-old). The oldest child recently was a witness to a traumatic event that occurred in the home, and besides therapy, the mother feels her son could benefit from enrolling him in a sport to distract him from all that has happened. Due to her not being able to work at the time, it has been hard for her to pay for a summer sport or summer camp for her son. This family could benefit from some help with financially paying for a program for her 5-year-old son.

She is not able to work at the time and is worried about her rent for her in-law unit and possibly following behind on her rent that she pays, $500. The mother could use any help to alleviate some of the stress she is feeling currently due to all the changes that are happening in her life while trying to give her children some normality.  

Young woman is experiencing deep loss and grief due to a death in her life. She is responsible to store items and is not yet ready to fully part with the items. During this time she has not been able to get to work and so funding this practical need for her will be a huge blessing to help her get ahead. Containers do not need to be new, but do need to be clean and in working order. Thank you for your ministry

The parents of the four children (boys, 2 y/o, 7 y/o, and girls, 12 y/o and 9 y/o) have not had the opportunity to do an activity together in some time. The parents are struggling with disciplining their children and decided a family outing camping would be a great way to destress and do something together. The family has never been camping but would love some support with camping equipment. Ideally, the family would like one tent to fit them all in since they feel being together is the safest. The family plans to go this summer, but they do not have any sleeping bags, camping chairs, or anything. Anything would help this family so that they can build on their family bond. Thank you.

This family is requesting shoes as they have limited financial stability to purchase shoes on their own. The family walks a lot as they are unable to drive nor have a vehicle to maneuver so they rely heavily on public transportation and walking.

A maternal grandmother has become the primary caregiver for a one month old baby boy. The grandmother has limited income and would benefit from diapers, formula, clothing, and a bassinet.

A mom of three sons is currently in need of support for their new apartment. This mom recently fled a domestic violent relationship. Her family experienced an insect and rodent infestation, which caused her and her family not to be able to transfer household items to her new apartment. This was an emergency move by section 8, into a 3-bedroom apartment. This was due to negligence on the landlord's behalf. The requested items should be delivered to her address. Please let me know, and I will provide it.

Single mother with three children ages 17, 11 and 6. The children are without beds and the 11 year old is high needs. 17 year old needs: Double bed frame, box spring, mattress and a dresser 11 year old needs: Twin frame, box spring, mattress, mattress cover due to incontinence and a dresser 6 year old needs: Twin frame, box spring and mattress

Young man is in need of some support for his car, as the fuses and wiring for his turn signals have gone and this is preventing him from driving his car. He needs his car for independence to work, church events and empowering his own success.

He also needs a trusted mechanic cost assessment and service.

This will help him get on track for his work goals, mental health resources, and will empower him.
