The Department is working with a family who is trying to reunify with their children that are currently in foster care. The family is working to improve the home conditions but is at risk of losing their washer and dyer set previously purchased at Rent A Center. The family owes a balance of $150.00 to obtain full ownership. The family is requesting helping to complete the last payment of what is owed on the washer and dryer. Any community help is appreciated.

Single father is in need of furniture for his residence in order to support the placement. He is in need of a couch, chair, and end tables and or a coffee table for his living room.

We have a single expectant client who is in need of a new infant/convertible car seat. She is due in July and will need the car seat to be able to bring her baby home from the hospital. Car seat may be dropped off at any of our clinic locations (Wytheville, Radford or Blacksburg) and we will get it to her.

The Department is working with a mother who recently had her children removed from her care. The mother is working to rectify the issues in the home that led to the children entering care. The mother is in need of help with cleaning supplies and home repairs. The mother is requesting help with the following items: Various totes, cleaners, cooking supplies, spin mop heads, murphy oil soap, Killz paint, wood polish, cleaning clothes, dusters, Windex, antibacterial wipes, gloves, sponges, upholstery cleaner, shower scrubber, ceiling fans, water hose, cabinet repairs, hood exhaust fan, vacuum, sink in bathroom, and door repair.

We are looking to help a young mom of 4 children. Her second oldest son is severely autistic (non-verbal), and suffers from ARFID (Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder). He attends a school year round in Wytheville, but specific foods have to be provided to the school, and of course at home too. She does have food assistance, however much of the funds are consumed by his very specific food requirements. We are entering this request in the form of a monthly "sponsorship", hoping that multiple churches, individuals, organizations will sign up to sponsor 1 month over the course of the next year. We believe we will then enter a new request the following year.

The mom has suggested that the food be delivered directly to the school (which would cover 2 of his 3 meals each day), or food items can be provided to her home (in Pulaski County). Addresses will be provided for those who sign up to help. Food needs to be delivered to either the school or her home by the 15th of the month that you sign up to help. Specific food items include: 6 boxes (family size) of Nabisco Chicken in a Biskit crackers ($36), 4 bags Doritos spicy Chile flavor ($24), 3 12 packs Lipton Diet Green tea ($21) and 4 boxes Kroger Brand strawberry frosted pastries ($10) - total around $100 per month.

TCDSS is working with a family with 2 children. There are limited financial resources available. Family is in need of windows replaced in their doublewide due to a few being broke.

The department is currently working with a family in the Galax area. The family has a seven month old child and the great grandmother is serving as a caregiver of the child from time to time. The great grandmother is currently wheel chair bound and is in need of a new wheel chair ramp as she is struggling to get in and out of her trailer.

THIS FAMILY HAS RESIDED IN VIRGINIA FOR SOME TIME. THEY HAVE A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD THAT REQUIRES CONSTANT SUPERVISION AS WELL AS TWO YOUNGER CHILDREN.

THIS FAMILY IS IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE TO RENT EQUIPMENT TO REMOVE LARGE DEBRY WHERE AN OLD HOUSE COLLAPSED. THEY WILL BE MOVING A DOUBLE WIDE ON THE PROPERTY AND DUE TO THE COST OF FIXING THEIR WELL EARLIER THIS YEAR, THEY ARE IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE.
