CPS is working with a single mother who has three children, one being on the Autism Spectrum. Due to appointments for him, she has missed quite a bit of work. While Mother has been taking care of basic necessities, Mother has not been able to pay her payment plan for electricity as agreed upon. The family woke up to the electricity being turned off, and Mother does not have the means to pay the total owed to have the electricity turned back on. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A grandmother who has custody of her granddaughter needs assistance in paying some of her rent. She was in and out of surgeries/ the hospital all June and wasn't able to work as she usually does. Her total amount in rent is $775; however, she only needs assistance for $300. Anything will help the family. Payments can be made by check.

We just got a new case and the mother just gave birth to her 6th child. Family moved to TN 2 years ago and is currently homeless. Family does not have any resources/ food/ or clothing. Family does not have any supplies (bottles/ pacifiers/ diapers/ wipes for the new born baby. The family was staying between their car and a hotel. Any assistance for the family will be greatly appreciated.

The worker is requesting on behalf of a kinship parent and her grandchildren:

We have been working with them to receive foster care payments, but due to a recent move there have been issues with the payments. The family is in need of rent assistance in the amount of $959 for their July rent. We are asking for this assistance while we coordinate the payments for this family.

Who: Maternal grandmother whom has recently been granted temporary custody for her 2 grandchildren. Needs: Food gift card, gas gift card, and Walmart gift card. She also needs a double stroller for the 2 children.

Who: 1 y/o female Needs: Size 5/6 Diapers, Baby Wipes, 2T life jacket

Who: Both the 3 y/o and 1 y/o children are needing a swing set.

The needs will give the grandmother some help on the front end so the children and her can have a smooth transition. This was unexpected and by the looks of the case, she will end up with full custody. The children love the water and playing outdoors. This would just bring some normalcy to the home while caseworker, and attorneys are visiting multiple times. The food and gas cards are self-explanatory, but the Walmart gift card is to buy them clothes or necessities that they need. After this, the family should be on their way to a much easier path.

A mother (50 yrs) and her son (13 yrs) currently reside in a sober living housing program due to past substance use from mother. Mother has gone to rehab and completed her program which got them in this housing program. The program requires them to pay rent weekly ($250 every Sunday). Mother has missed last week's payment. Mother just recently started a job on Monday of this week and will not get paid for another 3 weeks. Mother has put in her efforts to find a stable job to meet financial needs for her and her son and the housing manager sees that, so they are giving her grace. Mother assures that her goal is to save up so she can find her own place for her and her son to live. Payments can be made electronically.

Hello Care Portal Family and Supports! I have a family who is needing help with getting a washer and dryer for their home. This is a young family with two kids of their own (4yrs old and 8 months old), one on the way, and a teenager who was in Custody that they took in when they didn't have to. This family is trying to get a washer and dryer so they can spend less time and money at the laundromat and more time at home raising their young children and the teenager they took in. This family is spending several hours a week at the laundromat due to the amount of clothes they go through with their family and not being able to save their money that they were trying to save for a washer and dryer after taking in the teenage boy. Would somebody be willing to help this family?

A single mother who is currently unemployed and caring full-time for her two children is in urgent need of assistance. One of her children is an infant, and the older child has been diagnosed with non-verbal autism. Due to her full-time caregiving responsibilities, she is unable to work and is struggling to meet basic household needs.

Immediate Needs:

Infant summer clothing (Size 3–6 months) Air mattress (for safe sleeping arrangements)

JJ caseworker is working with a family who just lost their job. The father is looking for employment and in the meantime trying to keep the family stable and together. A 1 time pay on their electric bill would take a lot of pressure off of them and help them so much this month. The amount is $180.43 and it can be paid to CPWS. Help a Determined Young Woman Create Her First Home

At just 19 years old, this resilient young woman is stepping into a new chapter of her life. Having recently aged out of foster care, she’s worked tirelessly to maintain steady employment at a local childcare facility—a job she’s held with dedication for several years. Now, she’s preparing to take a big leap: moving out of government-subsidized housing and into her very first apartment, where she can finally experience the independence she’s been working so hard for.

While she’s overcome many obstacles to reach this point, she faces the challenge of moving into an unfurnished space. Without the resources to collect furniture over the years, her new home will be empty—missing the comforts and warmth that make a space truly feel like your own.

We would love to help her start this new chapter with dignity and pride by furnishing her living room. We are seeking donations of new or gently used items such as a: -Sofa/LoveSeat -coffee table -TV/ TV stand -Floor Lamp

(Decorative items are also welcome and will be considered based on available space.)

Ideally, donated items can be delivered directly to her new home, and we’re happy to assist with coordinating logistics. Let’s help her step into adulthood not just with four walls, but with a place she can truly call home.

We have a family with a 4-year-old child with autism. This kiddo needs an AAC communication device to continue their efforts of communicating. The family is low income and unable to access this device independently. The child's speech therapist requested that the family obtain this device. TN care denied coverage for the device. Any and all assistance with this item is greatly appreciated.

Mother is a single mother of 4 children: ages 11, 9, 6, and 3. Mother is providing housing, utilities, and food for the children but has not been able to furnish their new apartment. The family has one air mattress which has a hole in it and the family members have no beds to sleep on.
