Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing
I am working with a teenager who's foster placement was recently disrupted due to the foster parents getting divorced. The teenager is currently in a respite location but does not have all of her belongings including underwear, pajamas, and school-appropriate attire. There have been several meetings between myself and the foster family to retrieve items, however the youth still indicates she is missing many of her clothing items. I am request giftcards to take the youth shopping to get her provisions needed for her day-to-day life while staying at the respite while other foster options are looked into and investigated. Giftcards to anywhere would be great (Walmart, Old Navy, Target, Visa, etc.)

Help Reunify a Bio Family
This family has been working with the Department for almost a year. Recent changes have impacted the family including the father needing to leave the home, losing his job, filing for bankruptcy, and losing his unemployment due to legal fees and other obligations. He continues to engage with the Department and all the requirements needed despite the daily challenges he faces. As he continues to do the work needed for his family and children, any assistance to help with food and snacks for the kids would be great!

Help Preserve a Foster Care Placement
This family has been working with the family for a couple months. There is an extensive amount of trauma that these teenage girls have been subjected too. As they make another transition in the foster care system, the foster mom could use some help with groceries. The girls on this case are trying to keep up with their extracurricular activities (horseback riding/showing) but with the recent change might not be able to keep enjoying the one activity that helps them cope with their current situation.

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing
The family began with the Department a few months ago. The teenage girls on this case have had an enormous amount of trauma with their father passing away from substance use, mother abandoned them and is using substances, and their grandma recently passed away in August. They do not have any other family to take them. The grandpa has decided he no longer can take care of the children, and the girls have entered the foster care system yet again. The girls have struggled with another change but continue to try and be positive. With their current placement, they share a bunk bed with worn down mattresses. I am requesting two new small mattresses that will help them become more comfortable at their foster home.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
The Department just returned a 12 year old back home to her mother after an extended placement in Kinship care. Biomother works and would love for the youth to be able to go to a summer camp to be able to make some friends as she doesn't have any in the area. Biomother can not financially cover the camp. The youth would love to participate in an activity. If you would like to register/pay for this directly I can provide the youth name.

Help Preserve a Foster Care Placement
Hope’s Promise is requesting financial assistance in purchasing Xfinity home security system setup for a year for a foster mom of three foster preteens. She also has two biological children in her home. This implication of home security would ensure felt safety and protection for the foster children and family unit as cameras placed around the home would positively impact peace of mind and increased security in the foster home. There are current significant safety concerns that are impacting their ability to feel safe coming and going due to a person involved in one of the cases for one of the foster youth knowing where the youth lives and following that youth. The foster mom is unsure they can maintain placement without safety concerns being mitigated and addressed for the family unit, and this would be a step in the right direction for them to have safety mechanisms put into place.
She is looking at the Base Home System with a one-time payment of $360. Great for smaller homes with 1-2 entrances. • Xfinity Home app, simple home control • 1 touchscreen controller • 3 door/window sensors • 1 pet-friendly motion sensor* • Battery + cellular system backup • Xfinity Home Security yard sign

Help Preserve a Kinship Placement
This family has continued to be a strong and healthy placement for the kids. There have been multiple struggles they have faced while being the protective caregivers. They continue to put the kid's safety first as the bio parents continue to not complete their treatment plan, speak negatively about them, struggle with substances, and make unannounced visits that have led to the family needing to put up security cameras and take extra measures to ensure safety. Kinship placement is very busy family and hope to involve the kids in more activities this summer that they have never been exposed to. They are asking for some assistance with groceries and snacks for some summer fun!

Help Preserve a Kinship Placement
This family has been working with the Department for a few months. Mom has been doing everything she needs to help her get back on track, but she has suffered some medical issues including vomiting spells, nerve issues with her back, and extreme fatigue. She continues to make all of her appointments despite her discomfort but now faces houses struggles when her apartment fell through, she lost her job and is worried about being homeless now. Upon meeting with her, she had very little food and was not eating consistently due to her struggles. This mom continues to work hard despite all of her setbacks but could use help with groceries for this month as she scrambles for a new home.

Help Preserve a Kinship Placement
Kinship provider is caring for a family members baby. This child was born premature with serious heart defects. The baby is very sick and requires ongoing hospital care as well as extensive round the clock medical care, for the short periods that she is discharged to the home. The kin provider is heart broken and a bit traumatized by how sick the baby is. Kin provider has identified that gas vouchers would be helpful and supportive to her at this time as she visits the baby in the hospital daily to receive care instructions, updates and because she loves her. Kin provider plans to get involved in counseling as an added layer of support. The ongoing side of the case is no longer providing gas vouchers due to budget cuts. Therefore, this cert worker is asking for gas gift cards for the family and is advocating for $200 but any amount is greatly appreciated!

She has been provided resources for food banks but is often working when food banks are open. Requesting assistance with groceries.

Help Remove an Educational Barrier for a Child
Two teens were placed with aunt and uncle the beginning of May due to father being homeless and mother's substance use in the home. In talking to the younger child's teacher, aunt learned the child is several grades below grade level in math. Aunt has signed the child up for tutoring over the summer in an attempt to get her caught up/support the child's likeliness of attending school consistently when school resumes. Tutoring is $342 a month for the next two months. The family has incurred additional expenses such as a significant increase in the grocery bill and purchase of clothes as the children came to their home with nothing. Requesting financial assistance for the family to help cover the cost of tutoring.
