She is anxiously awaiting her children’s disability appointment later this month, a crucial step that will determine how she can keep a roof over their heads. With a hearing scheduled in July to address her unpaid rent, her future hangs in the balance. Despite all this, she remains fiercely committed—ready to work once her children are caught up with their medical needs. Her resilience in the face of such overwhelming challenges is nothing short of extraordinary. The weight of these struggles has caused her immense stress and anxiety, yet she refuses to let her children feel this burden. She continues to be their unwavering advocate, fighting tirelessly to secure stable housing and a better future for her family.

The Children's Advocacy Center is seeking $1200 in rent and size 1 diapers for a family of 5. Mom and stepdad have three kids ages 4, 2, and 1 month. Mom is waiting for unemployment to start as she is postpartum and didn't qualify for maternity leave. Stepdad waiting to start a job at Meijer. Once they have both incomes, they expect to be able to pay their rent. They are also connected with Community Action House's Food Club, Food Stamps, and WIC. City on a Hill is willing to pay for a portion of the rent once this initial $1200 is paid. Your assistance will greatly impact this family so they can keep stable housing and take care of their newborn.

I am serving a single mother of two young boys with autism. Her dryer went out unexpectedly and is now resorting to using a laundry mat which has caused a strain on her budget. She is currently in between jobs due to her sons increased medical needs and appointments. She has a dryer hook up and a washer but needs help getting her old dryer replaced. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A 3 year old boy with epilepsy is placed in Ottawa county. The child experiences short term paralysis following any seizures and he relies on a calming environment to help him become regulated again. His medical providers have recommended a sensory swing for times following seizures. The swing is not something his insurance would cover and the family has requested support in this way.

Mom has 2 vouchers to get car seats at a local fire station and can get the car seats for $25 a piece. A biological mother is being reunified with her two young children in mid-July. The mother has a dining table but no chairs and is looking for 3-4 dining chairs to be around her table.

I’m requesting assistance to help a family restore their energy service. Their electricity has been shut off for more than six weeks, following the recent heat wave. They have already exhausted their DHS energy assistance for the fiscal year, and 211 currently has no available funds. This family urgently needs their power restored for their health and safety. Single mom of 2 needing assistance with past due rent in order to keep her home. This mom has always maintained full time employment, but due to a back injury flare up, has been out of work. This mom continues to work her hardest to provide for her family, which includes a son who has Autism that has appointments that she also maintains. Her employer is holding her job while she works on this. This mom does a great job managing the stress of being a single mom, and needs a little help with this financial burden while she works on healing herself. A mom and her five children urgently need to relocate due to an escalating domestic violence situation. After leaving an abusive relationship four years ago and working hard to build a stable life, her safety has once again been compromised. She has made the decision to move to another state where she has supportive family and has already secured permission to transfer her housing voucher and end her current lease.
