Ridge Point Community Church

This request is for a Holland High senior who is in need of a Cap and Gown for graduation. The caregiver of this family recently had a procedure done, and that has made finances tight for the family. It would be a big financial relief for this student and her family if the Cap and Gown was able to be purchased for her! The order will need to be placed by this week Friday, April 25th. It will be easiest for myself or the donor to call Josten's to complete the order - I can give all necessary information to the church partner paying for this request.

A single mother, recently left by her husband and going through a divorce, is disabled (cancer treatment) but is working part-time and has 4 children attending Zeeland Public Schools. Her home has only 1 bathroom but, due to a leak and surrounding water damage, the risk of electrocution prevents the family from using the shower. Mom has been taking them to other places to bathe for the past 6 months. Recently, several agencies helped this family secure the $20,000 to pay for the mold remediation and home repair which is to begin 4/24/2025. Unfortunately, the family cannot live in the home while the mold issues and construction are being dealt with and so must find a place to live for approximately 1 month. Possible solutions could be a donor who has a rental property or cottage that is vacant at this time where the family can stay or perhaps one or multiple donors working together to cover an extended stay at a motel. The family is open to any viable options but does request that the location has a kitchen since they are a low-income family and cannot afford to eat all of their meals out. Groceries or gift cards for groceries and/or restaurants could also be helpful during this time. Thank you greatly for considering how you can help!

The family is going through a legal matter and the legal matter is requiring a medical exam for the children. They have found a place for the medical exam to be conducted. They are able to pay for some but are falling short 300 to cover for the whole medical exam. They have the medical exam scheduled for April 26th at 12:30pm in Wyoming, MI. A maternal aunt is caring for her sister's 4 children. The youngest child is 4.5 years old. He continues to be in a front facing 5 point harness and will transition to a booster. The child's car seat is broken and a new car seat is required. A front facing 5 point harness that converts to a booster is being requested. This would greatly benefit the family as the current car seat is not safe to continue using.

Community Action House is seeking utility assistance for a single mom of seven children ranging from newborn to teenage. Mom works Full-Time and is caught up on the rest of her bills. However, she is unable to seek state assistance due to an error in her child support case. She needs electricity to warm bottles for her newborn. BPW is able to pay a portion of the bill - $100. She is in need of an additional $506.40 to turn her electricity back on. Your assistance would help stabilize her family and provide support to the children.

A student recently graduated last year and began taking college classes in the fall last year of 2024. He was able to obtain a scholarship but that scholarship no longer has funds left for him to use. He is trying to obtain any type of financial help to help pay for at least this semester that he is enrolled in. He is enrolled in a payment plan but has been hard to pay the payment plan, due to just starting work.

This request is to pay for glasses for two separate Holland High students who are siblings. 4 our of the 5 members of the family have glasses, and these two students are in need of updated prescriptions. I have spoke with both students, and they have confirmed they are having a hard time seeing the board, even with being in the front of their classes.

In speaking with mom, it sounds like the cost of these glasses is a lot for her to handle. She is a single mother, and with so many people in the home needing glasses, the cost is prohibitive.

Both of these students are incredibly kind and were very grateful that I could offer some potential help through CarePortal, as was mom. The services have been invoiced, and can be paid directly at the family's eye care doctor, West Ottawa Eye Care.

This family is in need of technology to support their child with educational needs, participation in on-line learning, to prepare for in-school learning next school year. Their child has never attended school, and this family recently re-located to Michigan from another state and are in the process of enrolling their child into public school. Mom plans to utilize the computer as well to maintain family records and budget for immediate needs and plans to enroll in higher education to increase her employment opportunities in graphic design and photography. School backpack is needed for entering into school for next school year. Child will be in first grade.

Foster family has done a great job navigating difficult and unique case circumstances that have unexpectedly occurred. Foster family has placement of 4 children under the age of 6, for a total of 7 children in the home. They continue to be intentional with their time and devote an incredible amount to assist the 4 children placed in their care, as well as support the placement's extended biological family in navigating difficult circumstances. The biological family has informed this agency they feel this family has been a blessing unto their family during this difficult time. The agency is requesting a care package both as a "thank you" to the family and to continue to offer support through this difficult time. If a church is willing to donate a gift card for the family to go out to dinner as well as crafts/outdoor activities/toys for the children that would be greatly appreciated! The family's stove is currently broken which is forcing them to cook meals either in the microwave or eating out. Mom explained that eating out and finding microwavable foods has been expensive and is taking a tool on her finances. Having a stove would allow mom to meal prep and cook for food at home and save money. Mom is currently working 60-80 hours a week and trying hard to support her and her 2 children after her husband was incarcerated.

Our agency has been serving a single mother and her teenage child, which have just concluded a long and stressful court process following a disclosure of abuse. Due to mom's work schedule and limited finances, this desired trip to Michigan's Adventure was not doable this past summer. We are asking for two single day passes to Michigan's Adventure for this 14 year old and her mother to use this summer.

I am working with a single mother of 3 children that left a Domestic Violence situation a few months ago. She recently moved into a new rental that is further from her children's school and her supports. This mother provides transportation for the children to the school daily as well as all of their appointments or other family visits. She relies on her Chrysler mini van for all transportation including to get to her job. Her Mini van is in need of breaks and recently caused her to hit a vehicle in front of her after not being able to stop. She was able to get her front breaks repaired but was told that her rear breaks also needed to be replaced. She is unable to afford these repairs at this time. We are looking for someone that may be able to donate the service or pay for repairs. Thank You
