A kindship care placement has been supported by Safe Families for the last 3 years. This guardian has supported and created stability for 4 children due to this placement. The family has been resilient through ups and downs and have begun to thrive. 3 of the children are still in car seat boosters but all three have either broken or the children have grown out of them. The family is requesting 3 new car seat/booster with a back to ensure the safety of all 3 children while driving.

The children have resorted to selling candy outside stores and restaurants just to help meet their basic needs—a heartbreaking reality for young kids who should be focusing on their studies and playing.

This family is doing everything they can to survive, but they need help. Providing beds, a dining table, and a couch would bring a sense of comfort and stability back into their lives. These basic items would give them a chance to rest, eat together, and feel safe—something every child deserves.

A single mother of 2 is in a season of transition moving places and her kids are sleeping on mattresses on the floor and they have very limited furniture. Right now they are asking for 2 twin sized bed frames, 2 mattress protectors, 4 pillows, two sets of sheets, 2 comforters, 2 box springs, and 2 couches. This will help a lot as she has no way to get furniture, she's been calling around and no one has access to the resources she needs. Your support will give her the reassurance that she is not alone and that she is seen.

A grandmother taking care of her grandchildren is in need of a replacement box spring. She received two beds and no twin box spring. Your support will ensure she has what's needed for her grandchildren to rest well, with peace.

This family consists of three young children, their mother, and grandmother. They are new to our county this year and came seeking asylum. The students have been a wonderful addition to our school, making friends quickly and always greeting everyone with big smiles in the hallway. I am reaching out today on behalf of the family, as they are falling behind on rent and have requested an extension from their landlord.

Good afternoon, Calwa Elementary school is seeing an influx in students with lice causing many of them to miss multiple days of school. We support our students with a one-time voucher (limited amount provided by the district), but that only allows for 1 quick treatment, and they need several treatments for them to completely go away. Many of our families do not have the financial means to purchase these expensive kits for additional treatments. Our nurse has found that nit combs work best. We would like to have these nit combs handy for our parents to have if they are faced with this dilemma. Thank you in advance for your support!

We are reaching out today on behalf of a devoted mother and her four young daughters who are in urgent need of a twin over full bunk bed. This mother is doing everything in her power to care for her children, but the family is currently going through a very difficult time. All four girls are currently sleeping together in a single queen-sized bed. As you can imagine, this is far from ideal. While they show remarkable love and patience toward one another, the cramped sleeping situation affects their rest, comfort, and ability to thrive. Having a proper bed, a space of their own, would mean everything to these young girls. This mother recently took a huge step toward stability by starting a new job just this week. She is working hard and determined to build a better future for her family. However, as is often the case during transitional times, the family is currently low income and living with very limited resources. There is no financial room right now for extra expenses, especially large purchases like beds or furniture. Despite these challenges, this mother remains committed to creating a safe, warm, and loving environment for her children. She has not asked for much, only what is truly needed, that need is a safe, comfortable sleeping arrangement for her daughters. Items Needed: Twin over Full Bunk Bed (new or gently used), Mattresses for both beds (twin and full sizes), Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets if possible). Family is Spanish Speaking.

In our Thomas Elementary community, there is a family facing a heavy burden. A mother, who works tirelessly to keep her family afloat, has had a challenging year. Just nine months ago, her husband was diagnosed with cancer and given a heartbreaking prognosis—six months to live. On top of that, her daughter faced her own health concerns.

While she is the only one able to work, things took a turn for the worse when her daughter was out sick for over a week. Unfortunately, this coincided with their move to a new home, leaving the mother unable to work during a critical time. The family has fallen behind financially, and while the landlords have been understanding, they recently issued a three-day notice to vacate if their $1,600 deposit isn’t paid soon.

This family needs our support, both financially and emotionally. Even a small amount can make a significant difference. More than that, they need a community to rally around them during this tough time. Let’s come together to show them they’re not alone. Whether it’s sharing resources, offering words of encouragement, or lending a helping hand, we can make a difference in their lives.
