We have a 3 year old boy placed with a relative and is in need of a twin bed, mattress, sheets and comforter.

I have a single mother that has three children at home and two children in care. She reached out and said that her radiator hose exploded on her car and she is unable to pay for the replacement hose and the labor that comes to putting a new one in her car. If she can’t get this fixed, she is in jeopardy of losing her job, thus losing her home and her other children possibly coming into care. She isn’t sure on the price but by googling it ranges from $350 upwards of $1200. Anything is helpful at this point. Thank you!!

A 17 year old girl is reunifying with her dad in his home. She is 7-8 months pregnant and will be having her baby soon. The family would like to request a beside-the-bed bassinet for the baby to help the reintegration and post pregnancy go more smoothly. The family is currently working on completing reintegration with 9 kids total so this bed will help them out greatly.

The item being requested is a beside-the-bed bassinet.

Two young boys were removed from there mom because of an unsafe situation. They have reintegrated back home with their dad who was not in the home with them originally. The family is fully reintegrated but there are court fees that the dad cannot fully cover and the family will not be finished with court until the fees are covered. The fees are supposed to be shared with the kids mom but she will most likely not be helping so the family is asking for help to cover her portion of the court fees.

The boys are doing well with their dad and the dad would like to be finished with the court system and have the boys full time with him.

The youth is currently in need of a Twin box spring to help create a more comfortable and supportive sleeping arrangement in her new placement. At this time, she is unable to get proper rest due to the lack of this essential item, which is impacting her overall comfort and ability to fully settle into her environment.

Single-mother of one recently had to leave an abusive relationship over the weekend. She was unable to take some baby supplies with her. She is lacking some baby supplies currently and requested a pack-n-play specifically. She has moved in her with her parents for the time being. She and her parents are working on procuring some other supplies but would appreciate all support that the local community can offer.

On July 31, 2025 there will be a Back to School Fair at Platte County Health Department. Our goal is to provide low-income students and families of Platte County an equal and safe opportunity for school readiness by enriching physical, mental, and social well-being. In 2024, 885 children were provided with backpacks, hygiene packets, eye screenings, dental screenings, sports physicals, vaccines, and access to community resources. We are still in need of individually bagged earbuds. Each child receives earbuds in their backpack to be used in the classroom. (The items we puchase for the backpacks are based ont he lists the schools provide us.) We have previously found the earbuds on amazon in bulk $22.00 per 50 count. This would help to finish up the final items needed for the backpacks. We are in need of 200 earbuds total.

I have a mom who just started her trial home visit and daycare won’t start till later in the month. Because daycare won’t start Monday, this mom is having to miss work and her job has really been understanding but she can’t miss 11 days of work. She is needing help with self pay until state pay kicks in.

We are requesting funds to have voucher's for families that need to do a UA for us on allegations for hotlines. This is for families who might not have employment or be on disability and cannot afford the fee. Fastest Labs gives us a large discount to work with families. We are requesting 20 vouchers. I have broken the requests up in half so it might be easier to meet the need.

Jackson County Children's Division is seeking assistance in supplying a family who is in need of Uber gift cards to help them get around town & to attend their visitation with their 4-month-old son. It seems to be that having a vehicle and stable housing are the only barriers this family is facing that might be preventing them from reunifying within the time frame they would like to reunify in. Otherwise, they are doing absolutely everything & more to be able to ensure they are prepared for their little one to come home. This couple is doing exceedingly well on their progress towards sobriety and reunification with their son! The couple is 120 days sober from ALL substances and are actively participating in all services at this time! The couple is SO determined to reunify with their son, that they took it upon themselves to join other additional support groups on top of what they're required to participate in. They have even provided me as a caseworker with other resources within the local community that I hadn't known about, to then research and give out to other clients to help them! That is one of the many reasons as to why I enjoy working with this family so much. I am very proud of this couple and am hopeful that Care Portal will be able to find something to assist this couple in finding transportation vouchers. We are seeking assistance to purchase a twin size bed to allow a kinship placement provider to home a sibling to a youth they already have in their home. This kinship home is an adoptive resource for both youth and we would love to see these kids obtain permanency together. We need a twin size frame, box spring and mattress so these children can be placed in the same home.
