Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing

This family consists of of a single hard working mother and 2 children. Summer's are difficult for this mother as she is constantly working all day, the youngest attends daycare summer camp but the oldest is staying home during the day. The oldest disclosed that she does not have anything to do other than read or sleep. This family is very low income, I am requesting crafting activities like paint, paint supplies and anything else a 13 year old might like to craft. This teen likes to go shopping but due to financial circumstances, it is difficult for her to do so. I am also asking for Target or Walmart gift card for the teen and one for the family as this will benefit the family and promote the wellbeing for the children.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family

The family is urgently seeking rental assistance due to a recent and significant reduction in the mother's working hours, which has directly impacted her ability to maintain stable housing. As the primary care provider, this decrease in income has left her unable to cover her current rent, and she has now received a final notice to either pay the full balance or vacate the premises. Despite her active efforts to secure additional employment the mother is currently unable to meet this critical financial obligation. The situation is especially concerning as she is the sole caregiver of a child with a special needs, whose well-being and sense of stability heavily depend on a secure living environment. Without immediate assistance the family is at imminent risk of homelessness, which would have a severe emotional, psychological, and physical impact on both, the mother and her child.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing

This request is for a family that has moved into stable housing but needs a few things to help.

  1. A dresser for clothes to keep house tidy and their son does not have a dresser to keep his clothes.
  2. A lawnmower/weedeater. Their grass is growing and they have no way of cutting it and can't afford the fines that come with an unkept law.
  3. They currently have no working car because the axil broke. They have managed to find all the necessary parts except for the nuckle. This is the item that is needed: Go To Link

Thank you for your prayers for this family for a for considering giving to them.

Help Support a Youth Aging Out

I have two new needs coming from the foster care community to share with you this week. I realize they are higher level requests for our Faithway Family, but I’d ask that you please pray for the people involved and pray about how you or someone you know might be able to help. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to stall the government approval process for Care Portal, this need comes under the banner of “Church Need” even though it is a need from our community.

#1. There is a 17 year old boy who is in need of a family when he turns 18 in October and enters the Fostering Futures program through Loudoun DFS. This is an extended-foster-care program of sorts, for 18-21 yr olds aging out. Families who want to be a resource for young adults in this program DO NOT have to become licensed foster parents.

#2. A young man who was in Loudoun foster care from the age of 12 until he aged out at 18 is now 24 years old, homeless and looking for safe living arrangements. A Loudoun case worker was praying for the kids on his caseload yesterday and felt prompted to reach out to this young man that he had lost contact with. The case worker called him and found out about his need. He has a job, but it does not pay enough to cover average rent costs. The case worker has found him shelter through the weekend, but we would like to try to find him a more permanent situation.
