Single mother was provided previously with a washing machine from Careportal. The machine is broken and family is requesting assistance with getting the machine fixed.

This family has struggled with homelessness and is currently working to find housing in order to provide a safe and stable home for the mother and her 8-month-old son. In order to allow the family to save for an apartment, I am requesting help provider her with items to improve the quality of life of the child and help ensure his proper development, such as a bouncer. The family has also requested cleaning supplies (surface cleaner, mop/supplies, broom) in order to help them keep the apartment clean for a child that is moving around more and more each day.

Five month old female child in a temporary relative placement due to safety concerns with her parents in need of size 3 diapers (any brands other than Luvs) and Similac sensitive formula (orange can). The relative caregivers have also requested a small trash can with a lid for the baby's room to allow the ease of throwing away dirty diapers. I have a youth on a trial home placement, and he is need of a full size bed. He currently has a twin, but he is 6 ft tall and does not fit comfortably. They would also need a sheet set and comforter for the full size bed. The bed can even be gently used. Please let me know if you are able to purchase or donate.

I have a youth that is on a trial home placement and they are requesting some help for some hygiene products. They are in need of women's shampoo, conditioner, women's body wash, men's body wash, and tooth paste. We would ask for two bottles of each so they can last a little bit of time. They are fine with the products coming from the dollar store they are just in need of some.

CarePortal got connected to this family through Sleep in Heavenly Peace. This family was homeless and just moved into a home in Roanoke this past weekend from Franklin County. The family consists of a single mom with 7 children ages (16,14,11, 6, 6, 4 and 1). Father is recently deceased. Family had to flee their home out of state in an emergency situation and couldn't take much with them. All children have beds except for the one year old child who is in need of a crib. Family would benefit from window a/c units as the house has no central air condition. They would also benefit from a dining table and chairs, dressers, and a couch. Mom would also love to learn about positive activities for the older children. Mom has a plan to work and has already been submitting applications.

Father of 3 children, ages 5, 3, and 18 months is in need of assistance with a gas bill that is past due. The mother of the children is outside of the home due to court intervention. She does not have stable employment at this time, so she is unable to financially assist in taking care of the children. The father is self-employed through contract work, which has been affected recently due to the weather and his and his children's illnesses. The Department has been able to provide assistance with other more urgent bills. The father is requesting assistance with the gas bill, so it does not become an emergency. Without this bill being paid, the children run the risk of being placed outside of the home. Thank you for considering this request.

A father requests help with a window AC unit for his home. He and his child have been sleeping in the living room on the floor at night because it is the only room with an AC window unit. They live on the second floor and their home gets very hot during the day.

Good Afternoon. I want to start off thanking you all for everything you do. I am currently working with a family that has a son going through a lot of mental health issues. Mom is doing the best she can with the home and keeping everything afloat. She has an apartment inspection next week and is needing assistance with cleaning supplies. trash bags and hygiene products. She does have a job and is working full time but, she is also a single parent taking care of both children. She also could use some help with bus passes to get to work and appointments.
