This request is for a Mom and Dad that have a 2yr old daughter and 6mo old son and expecting in mid-July. They have fallen on hard times. She is a stay-at-home Mom, and he is employed only part time. They are needing clothes for the children and themselves. Needing the love of the community to help them through these challenging times.
The clothing for the children can be given in the actual clothing as the sizes are 5T for a girl and 9mos. for the baby boy with gift receipts in case something doesn't fit and underwear-pullups for the toddler (pull-ups size 5) and diapers (size 5) for the 9mo old. The Mom and Dad can be given gift cards at the following places (Walmart, Target, Kohls, JC Penney's) so they can go shopping for themselves and get the appropriate sizes. They are also needing a double stroller to accommodate the baby due in July and the other baby.

Mother is a single mom and is doing the best she can raising 4 boys. She is behind on BPU bill as she recently moved to Kansas after fleeing from her abusive husband. Mom is working really hard but just needs some extra support. Mother is asking for help with groceries and payment of her utility bill to alleviate concerns for children going hungry, and to ensure they are getting fed properly. It will also ensure their electricity does not get shut off as the holidays and cold weather approach.
I am working with a family that lost a lot of their household items due to a bed bug infestation. There are 4 children and two adults living in a two-bedroom apartment. Currently, the children's clothing is on the floor in their closet, and it is difficult for them to locate items that they need. The children's mother has some mental health concerns that she is working to address. Therefore, updating their space and improving the conditions that her children are living in will help boost the overall morale of the home. Thank you so much for any and all help that you can provide. The family is enthusiastically open to second-hand and pre-loved items. Small laundry baskets, bookshelves, and any small storage items would also be helpful.
One of the older children has asthma and has a difficult time keeping up with their siblings. Their mother thinks that a double stroller would help with this a lot.
Thank you so much for supporting the community.

Greg:
Restore Community Church has a new twin roll out trundle bed with metal slats and lockable casters for this family. It is not a toddler bed, but the platform frame is only a few inches high, and might be suitable for this family. Restore also can provide a new mattress and bedding. If desired, Northland Church KC can deliver this week.
DCCCA is currently working with two teen mothers who are in critical need of baby monitors. One of them has a 13-day old, beautiful baby and she is a teen mom that could benefit from having a monitor to effectively care and attend to her sweet baby girl. Unfortunately, this teen mom is a migrant who came with no family and has no support. Our second momma has multiple babies who are in need of constant monitoring as they are now fast and tend to wander around. Keeping them safe is important and necessary. Please consider helping these beautiful children and young moms. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you for reading and God bless you! Updated on December 06, 2023 by an Agency Worker We were able to obtain one monitor. Please help us out with the second one, thank you :)
A family who Clay County Children's Division is helping is in need of a Spire payment to be met. Family has been dealing with job issues and being cut hours and lay offs. They have been unable to make their Spire bill- they have attempted to make half payments so they could get their hot water turned back on and they have been declined. They have to make all $545 to be able to get their hot water turned back on. Being able to turn the hot water on again will help the family in many ways. Children and family are having to brush teeth with very cold water, showering with very cold water, etc.

The family has a bunk bed frame but is in need of 2 twin sized mattress/box spring, mattress protector, sheets, pillow & comforter/blanket. They also need a bedrail for the top bunk bed. This will help the children have their own beds and to be able to stop sharing a bed. Thank you for your consideration.

A student needs an Uber gift card to get to NCC when PHS is not in session. When school is not in session, students are still expected to attend NCC. Due to this student not having transportation to get to NCC, they are being penalized for their attendance. This student is in a family with a single mother who cannot transport this student. An Uber Gift Card would assist him in getting to and from NCC and in turn would improve his attendance.

Kinship placement, Grandpa & Great Aunt are caring for 2 young children in their family. The home has cockroaches and desperately needs to be treated. The family is strapped for money and is unable to pay for the treatment. The family has gotten a quote from a pest control company for an initial treatment that would cost $350. They would need to follow up with additional treatments but any help to get them started would be appreciated. This would greatly improve the quality of living for the entire family but especially the children ages 18 months and 5 years old. Please consider helping this family. Thank you.

Young adult still in foster care is close to exiting foster care by emancipation. He has a long-term home and has moved in. However, he only has an old mattress and no bed frame. He has broken his past bed frame as he rocks in his sleep at night, a result from past trauma. Requesting a new mattress and bed frame for this young man as he transitions to the rest of his life so he can have a more comfortable sleeping arrangement in his room and also a rug to go under the bed frame to prevent scratching the floor when he rocks at night during sleep.

Mother is on a THV with her 2 year old son She has made lots of progress of the year and has stable housing and is drug free. Her son is growing quickly and unfortunately all the clothes she was given he has out grown, or he just only has 3 pairs of socks for example. I have went upon myself and research how much each of these things would cost at Walmart. Socks are $19.99 for a 12 pack, Jeans are $15 a pair, sweats and hoodies we can do bundles a matching set for $12.53 for the hoodie and sweats or $20.76 for a three pack of sweats or $11.98 for one hoodie, Shirts $17.92 for a 4 pack, winter coat is $23.98, snow boost size 6 are $28.99, tennis shoes size black neutral pair $16.87 colorful pair $18.44, and sweaters would be $11.64 each. After calculating it all up the total was $279.80. I'm asking for $300 for Mom for any extra taxes or fees and to make sure her son can get everything he needs. I will accompany her on the clothing hall so we make sure we get the right items priced on this form.

Need help in purchasing new football cleats and helmet visor for a 14 y/o boy who recently reunified with his mom. Throughout his time in care he changed between multiple placements and different schools. Despite the many transfers, the teenager maintained excellent grades and attendance and has been able to play football at each school. He is growing rapidly and needs new cleats and a required visor for his new team. Football is extremely important to him and he works hard to ensure he can play in addition to his educational goals. He has high hopes and aspirations to attend college and interest in computers/coding. He utilizes football as a healthy coping skill and gains many skills from his coaches and team such as teamwork, discipline, and physical exercise. Either the specific items or a gift card to a sporting goods store would help obtain the items and allow him to pick out the right fit/style himself as he is learning financial skills as a teenager such as how much items cost, how to shop around, and check out/pay for yourself. Helping meet this need would free up funds in the home for other necessary items.
