This 14 year old boy has been in care for over two years. He moved bounced around a little, before finding stable placement with his siblings in March of 2021. He has an 8th grade field trip to Washinton, DC coming up in April (with payment due in December). This youth is a great kid. Once he got into a stable and loving home, and was able to find the right dosage of medication, he has thrived. He does well in school, loves playing sports, and he has a very humble and kind personality. He would really like to go on this trip, and his foster family would really like for him to be able to join his classmates. They need some help to make this happen. The cost of the trip is $1,609, and that is a lot for the family to take on, especially since they have five other children in the home.
Two children are being reunified with their father after he was released from a stretch in prison. The children are very excited to be with him again and he is working on making their house a home. They are in need of two twin sized bed frames and mattresses for the kids. Any help is greatly appreciated!
We have an Uncle that took in his niece and nephew to prevent the children going into foster care. He has had the children for a few weeks and we determined this may be a long term situation (over 6 months). The children need bed frames and mattresses. The two year old girl is sleeping in a pack and play. The seven year old boy is sleeping on a cot. If anyone can donate a toddler bed frame, a twin/ full size bed for the 7 year old, and mattresses, the relative would really appreciate the assistance. The family is also open to bunk beds if that is available. Please reach out if you can assist with used beds or new beds. Thank you!
I am working with a new mother and father who have a 10 day old baby. The baby has some medical issues and that parents would like to get a baby monitor for when she is napping in a separate room from them. Any assistance would be appreciated and they are happy to take a used set as long as it is working. Thank you for considering this request and your continued support!
DCCCA is working with a family who has been homeless for 9-months and the family has been separated for the past few months with children saying at a friends home and mom staying with different family members and sleeping in her care at times. Mom does work full-time but has had a difficult time finding affordable housing.
Mom has found a home and been accepted to move in as soon as she can pay the deposit and a month of rent up front. The family is hoping to move in as soon as possible because the family the children have been staying with will be leaving town next week leaving the children with no place to go. If the family is not able to get into housing soon there will likely be court involvement which always leads to the risk of the children being removed. We know $1,125 is a very large amount but having the first months rent will allow the family to move in as soon as possible and will give the family stability to being working on other goals to continue to increase their stability.

This mother of one has worked to make her home safe for her child. The child is growing and at this time has no place to put his clothing or other personal items such as blankets. A baby dresser for this the child is 6mnths old and has a need to place his pampers , blankets and clothing in a proper place, that will help with accessibility and cleanliness.
Family is in need of a stroller. they live in a rocky muddy area so a heavy duty one would be best. The boy is big for his age so a large size. If the helpful church can contact this worker i can get you drop ship address to have it sent. Thank you! Be blessed Chuck

DCCCA Family Preservation is hosting our 3rd Annual Christmas Party for the at-risk families we serve. This event gives families the opportunity to step away from their stressful life events, even for just a short while, to have a joyful evening full of fun, food, and festivities. This event can help form positive core memories for vulnerable children -- many who experience extreme poverty and would love nothing more than some bonding time with their parents to play games, have a nice meal, sing and even laugh together. DCCCA is a nonprofit organization; therefore, we rely on the generosity of the community to help fund our events. Donated funds will help us purchase the food, paper goods, and other essential items. If you are able, please consider helping us bring smiles and laughter to the faces of many children as we share with them the magic and joy of Christmas. Thank you for all you do for the community!

DCCCA Family Preservation is asking for assistance in replenishing our diaper supply to assist at-risk families with infants. The following sizes are in urgent need in our donation pantry: size newborn, 4, 5, and 6. Huggies and Pampers are the preferred brands for sensitive bottoms. We are also in critical need of baby wipes, as an influx of families with infants has resulted in our supply being depleted. Items can be delivered or shipped to the following address: DCCCA, C/O Tammy Arndt, 6950 Squibb Rd, Suite 430, Mission, KS 66202. Thank you for your care and compassion for the families we serve!

I have a family who continues to be in a rough financial situation due to not having consistent income right now. The mother is unable to work due to ongoing health issues, surgery at the end of this month, and stays at home to take care of her daughter who has Autism and can not be left alone. The family has very limited support and no extended family. We were able to cover the families' November rent last month through the Care Portal and we were looking at another resource to help cover the December rent as well. Unfortunately, this funder fell through. The family would like to stay in their current living situation through the holidays and are working with a case manager at local agency to help them moving forward. We would like to see our student be able to stay in her home for the holidays and get through this time with as less stress as possible. If we could help the family with their rent, total amount is $1,542.00, due Dec. 1st, this would put the family in a position to get through the new year and focus on other bills, including mom's upcoming surgery. Mom is also starting to take classes in Jan. so she can earn her certificate in IT with the goal to find employment where she can work from home and still care for her child. Thank you for reading and considering!

Hello! I have a 17 year old youth who would like to graduate high school by May 2023. Once this semester is over, she will meet all qualifications except her second semester Geometry B class. Unfortunately since she is taking online classes, her school district does not offer this course. She will have to take the class online elsewhere and that's where Greenbush Academy comes in. This program allows youth in Kansas to take online school courses and she could take this class for $225! She has a strong work ethic and is employed full-time while attending online high school classes. I know she could easily pay for this herself but I do not want her to have to pay this herself. Any help would be much appreciated!!!
Hello! We have an NRKIN that has accepted placement of an infant. The home is working on obtaining everything needed to care for the baby but could use assistance with baby gates. The home will need two gates that can be drilled into the wall. Any assistance is appreciated! Thank you!
The reason for this request is to help a mother pay the intake payment through The Layne Project so she begin having regular and consistent contact with her her 15-year-old son since who reintegrated with his father in 2018. After reintegrating with his dad, mom experienced push back from dad and refused to allow contact between the two. Mom finally felt confident in herself, her sobriety, and how far she has come since 2018, she filed a motion to modify parenting time to the courts. Because it has been so long since there has been contact between mom and her son, the judge ordered the family goes through The Layne Project. Mom, also, has four other children, and is pregnant. These siblings have missed out on many years together, two of them who have never met the 15-year-old. Not only would this help mom reunite with her first born, but would reunite siblings.
I have a parent who has been struggling with her work not giving her enough hours for the past few months and has been severely behind on rent. She recently was notified that she will be getting evicted by the end of the month if she is not able to pay the $800 overdue fees. She currently has a 1 year old in her care and does not have any support in the area that could take them in if they are evicted. We’re asking for any help so that she can stay in her home and provide a room for her young child while she works reintegration with her other child
Mother of three kids, male 6, female 5 and male 3, is needing help with paying an overdue bill. Mom is a single mother. Mom is close to reintegrating and is working on paying rent and other bills as well as having to deal with youngest child having heart surgery soon. Gas was turned off and mom was able to get it back on but is needing to pay the balance off to keep it on. Any help would be much appreciated.
A kindergarten boy with severe, medically complex health concerns needs your help. This child has a genetic disorder called 22q11 deletion syndrome, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, global developmental delay, a history of hypoparathyroidism, sickle cell trait, ventricular septal defect, feeding difficulties, dysphagia with G tube dependence and sensorineural hearing loss. This student also uses a walker to get around during the day and a wheelchair while being transported to and from school. This child recently had a surgery to place a GJ tube to provide nutrition, food, medication and fluids. This child does not take anything by mouth, so the GJ tube is absolutely essential. In addition, the place of this GJ tube is extremely important, as one part goes into his stomach and the second part goes into his small intestine. If this tube were ever to be moved or pulled out by accident this student would need to go to the emergency room to have it appropriately placed back by Interventional Radiology. Therefore, the use of the Benik G Tube Protective Belt is crucial to maintain the position of the GJ tube. I am requesting financial assistance to help this family purchase two protective belts, one for home and one to be used at school. Having this need met would help ensure this student’s safety and provide peace of mind to the caregivers who administer things such as food and medication on a daily basis.

We are asking for support for a family on the edge of homelessness. Both parents work full time, so they are right on the bubble of making too much to qualify for assistance, but barely paying rent, utilities, and food. They have a high school student that has Autism and needs consistency, structure, and routine. He loves cats! The family also provides for mother’s mother, so there are 4 living in a small, 2 bedroom apartment. The grandmother is sending her social security income to another daughter who is disabled. They just recently were told by their landlord they need to find other housing by the end of the year as he is planning to force everyone in the building to move so he can remodel and charge much higher rent they will not be able to afford. The family is also in need of a vehicle. Grandmother has a very old van that isn’t running due to electrical issues. The very well used family car has also died this week and may not be able to be resurrected. Both parents need reliable transportation to get to and from work. This family has always been very generous and hardworking, but are currently stuck without the needed resources to continue. Homelessness would be incredibly devastating to this family, especially with their son and his needs.
