Help Preserve a Kinship Placement

High Urgency Request
T, who is a one-year-old male, just moved into a new placement and they do not have a crib for him. They are so excited to have him there and would like him to have a crib as soon as possible so he has a safe place to sleep. New or gently used would be such a blessing. Thank you for anything that you can help with.

Help Prevent a Child From Entering Foster Care

Normal Request
This request impacts multiple families.

DCCCA works with families who have child that are at risk of going into foster care, but our mission is to work with the parents to prevent that from happening. A common cause for a family to begin services with DCCCA is to improve the cleanliness of their home. DCCCA has a cleaning product supply closet available to families so that we can bring them tools they need and teach them how to properly clean their home, however we are currently out of products and desperately need more. When we have a family that is referred to us for cleanliness of the home, our first goal is to meet the family with those cleaning products ready as having access to them can be the main barrier for a majority of families. Any assistance for this need would be a major blessing to so many families at DCCCA, thank you for your help! Special Instructions: Cleaning products can be dropped off at our DCCCA office addressed to Shylee in Family Preservation at any time. Or we can coordinate a pick up/drop off time, whatever works best for you!

DCCCA has been working with a single mother of 4 get back on her feet. This family relies on mom's social security income for their needs, but currently they are getting just enough to cover their rent and bills. The oldest daughter in the home is a teenager and she desperately needs new clothes and undergarments. She wears a size XXL and because of this a majority of the clothing closets we utilize do not have her size, or they will have her size but the clothes aren't usually age appropriate and they haven't had any undergarments in her size. A donation of gift cards to a few clothing stores would be best for this teen so her case manager can take her shopping to pick out clothes she will want to wear to help build her confidence. Some clothing store options that she said she likes is Target, Rue 21, Forever 21, and Ross.

Critical Request
A single, hard working mother of four, T ( 15/female), L (11/ female), R (14-year-old male), and M (12/ male) is supporting her family as a Certified Nursing Assistant on her own. There isn't any room in the budget for something to break down. But unfortunately, their car had some issues, and money needed to be spent to fix it. Mom had to get her car fixed so she could get to work. Rent is past due for this month and this family really needs a hand. They are moving as soon as they are approved for a place that will cost less every month, but they need help this month until that can happen. Mom has made partial payments, as well as St. Francis. Any help with would be a huge blessing for this family! Thank you so much for your consideration, God Bless!

A, who is a 4-year-old female, was reintegrated with her mom just a few short weeks ago. Things are going great, but the apartment complex they live in had an outbreak of bedbugs. The family had to get rid of their couch due to the outbreak. Mom just recently recovered from heart surgery and is now working full-time to get back on her feet. Can you please help this little family unit with a gently used couch? Anything that you can do would be such a blessing. Thank you for anything that you can do.

Trevor and Kelsey: We are getting ready to move and have a very nice couch that we would love for this family to have. Would there be a way that someone could pick it up from our house and deliver it to them?

The Family with the request is a 2 parent family with 4 children and a child with them for kinship placement. Mom is full time caregiver for the children and they rely on Dad's work income as their primary income. Dad was injured and was unable to work for a short time, causing the family to fall behind on their mortgage payment. In addition, they are now also budgeting for additional travel expenses for the child with them for kinship placement having multiple appointments in neighboring towns. This has made it difficult for them to get caught back up on their mortgage payments. They are needing a one time assistance of $250. This would allow the family to get caught back up and relieve stress and financial burden for them.

DCCCA has been working with a small multigenerational family that lives off of a minimal income and there are two school age daughters in the home and they desperately need a vacuum to keep their home clean. Mother is disabled and is working to move her family to a more suitable home but the main goal the family has been tasked with is improving the cleanliness of the home. With the family's limited income they do not have extra money to get a new vacuum and carpet cleaner so these items would be a major blessing to them as right now they have been trying to sweep the carpet clean. Any help for this family would be appreciated, thank you!

Mother 35yo is a single Mother of 13yo and 14yo girls. Mother has suffered depression and anxiety to a debilitating point, but does go to work everyday and it is hard work. Mother has allowed her home to become a hazard for the children's health. The girls both have asthma. Mother is gone from 4am to 4:30p in afternoon. She is not making sure the girls are getting to school on time or at all. The 13yo likes attending school, so she does find rides. There is a bus which stops to pick up the girls to go to school. 14yo does not like going to school, she has not attended in 1.5years. SHe can hardly walk outside, due to anxiety. She is on VR and has virtual friends and family, so she is not engaging with humans in person. The girls are on their phones constantly. The girls have been on their phones at night, and Mother falls asleep so early due to her job that they are not made to get off their technology at night. The children have gone to stay during the daytime with their aunt and uncle for summer, and they can sleep at home at night, because they do have space to sleep. The home needs cleaned. Mother agreed to use lock box (DCF paid) for the cell phones and technology where she can lock it up and the girls have a bed time. The aunt is keeping the girls busy during the day, they have even gone to the apartment to clean up and the aunt has mentioned it is too much for them to handle without some kind of professional hoarding cleaner expert who can come into the home. The girls will be receiving therapy and have insurance for this. The girls need a city pool pass, zoo pass, pottery classes from Clay Works uptown so the aunt can keep the girls busy this summer so they can be in routine and awake during daytime hours. Mother and the girls want to reunite soon but we told them it would possibly be end of summer before that can occur, summer is short so they need help on cleaning home and activities paid.
