This request pertains to mother and 4 children: (age 3, Male), (age 6, Male), (age 7, Male), and (age 8, Female). The family is in need of a fridge and stove. Currently, the family is unable to purchase a fridge or stove, making it so they have to go buy food daily or eat out. This is ultimately putting a financial strain on the family in not being able to store items that require refrigeration or conveniently cook meals. A fridge and stove would promote the lasting safety of the children as the appliances would aid in adequately caring for the children.
Two children were moved out of mother' s home and into Father's home. Father has space for the children, but not enough beds. The teenage girls are having to share beds currently. Father is in need of two twin beds for his younger children so the teenage girls can have their own beds.
DCCCA is assisting a medically high needs child that has to be weighed daily for his G-tube feedings. It has been requested by his doctors that the family get a Bluetooth bath scale that can keep track of each of his weights and the results will be sent directly to Children's Mercy. The family is overwhelmed with current bills and the donation of this scale would improve their lives drastically, and make reporting to all their child's doctors so much easier. Any assistance to this family would be a huge blessing, thank you! If you are able to assist I can forward an amazon link of the appropriate scale!
A single working mom is so close to reunifying with her three children (9 months, 2 years and 3 years). Mom is a survivor, and incredibly motivated and hard-working. She is bonded with her kiddos, and is an active parent who loves cooking for them, and playing outside when the weather is nice. The team wants to start mom and kids on overnight visits, however she is needing beds in place for the children first. She has been trying to save, ask family for help and find low cost items locally but has had no luck. We need a crib frame, mattress and bedding for baby. The two year old would do great in a toddler bed and needs the frame, mattress, sheets/blanket/pillow. Lastly oldest brother needs a twin mattress, frame, sheets/blanket/pillow. Mom has been very focused on providing for the kids, and is looking forward to celebrating their reunification soon! Thank you for your consideration to help this family, God Bless!
A widowed mom is working hard to provide for her three sons, however their budget is very tight with her current job. Benefits are pending, and mom needs immediate assistance obtaining clothes for her growing boys (ages 10, 7 and 1 year). G. wears size large shirts, size 12-14 pants for his growth spurt. Middle brother, L., needs boys shirts and pants size 6/7. Lastly baby brother, L, wears size 2T clothing. Diapers in size 5 and some wipes would also be a huge blessing (any brand, no allergies). Any assistance to this mom who worked hard to reintegrate her family back home, would be a tremendous blessing. New or gently used items are welcome. Thank you!

X. (age 15) is a young lady placed in foster care. Sadly the foster home had an electrical fire that started in the attic, just above her bedroom. The damage from the fire destroyed her bedroom and all her belongings. She has endured a lot of stress and loss just being in foster care, and now has lost the possessions she has. Her foster parent and St. Francis are working to help replace her items, as well as a pending insurance claim. However, she is still in immediate need of clothing - including shirts, sweats, leggings, bras, socks and shoes. A gift card for shoes would be easiest, as various brands fit differently. X. and foster mom are currently staying in an extended stay hotel, and any support during this unexpected and difficult time would be a blessing. Thank you, God Bless!

Mother of 6 children is having some struggles within the home. Her husband works full time while she cares for the 6 children which includes to and from school. 3 of the 6 are in therapy and services. The youngest is extremely special needs and requires a ton of dr appts. Mom relies solely on the only vehicle she has that is acting up to get her children to their appts. Her vehicle is a 2005 Chevy Suburban 5.3 L and one differential is leaking, leak in gas line or fuel pump and have to put antifreeze every 2 weeks, oil leak somewhere. Family is also in need of some groceries such as toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, and health items.
Healthy Families Newton needs your help. We are in need of some basic supplies for families. We are looking to gather diapers, and wipes. All sizes of diapers are welcome Newborn to 4T-5T pull ups. We are also in need of diaper ointments, and baby hygiene items.
According to babybasicsinc.org 33% of families struggle to afford diapers. $120.00 is the average amount of money spent on diapers per baby per month. That is an average of 10 diapers a baby needs per day.
Without consistent diaper changes, babies run the risk of infections, diaper rash and other significant health problems; problems that require medical attention and can put additional financial strain on the families. Which increase stressors and can potentially increase the risks of child abuse and neglect.
Help overburdened families in need by filling a pack n play. If you are interested, we will bring over the flyers, pack n play and sign and will leave it at your organization for 2-4 weeks (you chose). We will then come by and pick it up when it is full or when your designated time is complete.
A single, motivated and resilient mom is needing help furnishing her family's apartment. She has three children (5, 9 and 10). This bonded family has overcome a lot, and they are all thankful and appreciative of the services they receive in home through their therapeutic worker. At this time, the kitchen is needing fully stocked with the basics of cups, plates, bowls, silverware, pots and pans and cooking utensils and a kitchen trash can. The bathroom still needs a shower curtain rod, liner and trash can. The family has bed frames, but they need assistance with two twin mattresses, four blankets, four pillows and two sets of twin sheets. Lastly, a couple curtain rods and curtains can help the family keep the house warmer, and cooler as needed and provide privacy. This little family would be incredibly grateful for any help. Thank you for your consideration!
A who is a 14-year-old male, and his brother, L, who is a 16-year-old male are living now with their great-grandmother. GG was living in a studio apartment before the boys lived with her. Now she has moved into a 2 bedroom apartment so the boys could have a bedroom. GG is a single grandmother on a fixed income. The family is in need of a stackable washer and dryer for the apartment to make laundry easier and save money. They have been spending up to $60 a week going to the laundry mat which is very stressful on the great-grandmother and taxing physically. New or gently used would be such a blessing and they would be so grateful. Thank you for anything that you can do.
T is a 6-year-old adorable little girl who loves school and enjoys her teachers and friends. Her little brother, J, is 4 years old and loves spending time with his friends at daycare, his toys, and trucks. They are very excited to go home to their mommy and daddy who are working furiously towards reintegration and counting the days until they will be back together again. Can you please help the little ones with a few outfits? New or gently used clothing is such a blessing and they will all be so grateful. Thank you for anything that you can help with. Our CarePortal Churches are amazing!!
This is a very sad request that we are desperately needing help with. K who was a very young boy passed away while in foster care. Thankfully Saint Francis Ministries has been able to help the family with the cost of the funeral services. This heartbroken mother would like to be able to purchase a headstone where her little one was laid to rest. The cost of the headstone is $1774.13. If God moves on any of your hearts to help provide this need, it would be such a blessing with this life-altering event. Thank you so much for your empathy, prayers, and generosity for this mom in her brokenness.
This family includes four children (11 year old female, 10 year old male, 7 year old male, and 4 year old male). S. (age 18) is an incredibly driven and resilient young lady. S. is a responsible high school student, who has plans to attend community college before transferring to a university. Her goal is to be a traveling nurse. She currently is working a part-time job at a local fast food chain. She has endured a lot in her life, has been in foster care multiple times, and will sadly be "aging out" of the system. She is passionate about helping others, and we would love your help getting her car fixed. She has obtained a quote for repairs to her car. She is needing new rotors and brake pads on the front and rear of the car. Total estimate with labor is: $1,260. Any assistance is appreciated. If you are mechanically talented, or if you can help with this car repair cost, it will go a long way toward helping S. maintain her job, and future as a college student. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
A single, hard-working father is engaged with family therapy services with his son, who has autism and developmental delays. A former step-parent who was part of the family, moved out of the home, and took many items the family cannot afford to replace at this time. Dad works two jobs to provide for his son, and they need some help to bring a sense of normalcy back to their home. Dad sleeps on a recliner, while his son uses a couch. They are using disposable plates and cutlery. The family would be incredibly blessed to recieve a queen size bed for O. (teen), with bedding. The kitchen also needs cups, bowls, plates, silverware, pots and pans. They also need some dish towels, and bath towels in their home. They would be very grateful for any help, and we appreciate your consideration!
A single, working mom has worked hard to reintegrate her three children (ages 4, 5 and 7). The children are very active, and happy to be home. Mom is working to make ends meet, but needs assistance with obtaining items for her kitchen. The family needs help with plates, bowls and cups. They also need help with cooking utensils like spatulas, and silverware. Lastly, stovetop pots and pans and dish towels would be a tremendous blessing to this bonded family of four. Thank you for your consideration, God Bless!
The agency (DCF) is needing extra resources to help clients. Towards the end of the month the agency will run out of bus passes for clients. These bus passes help clients get around in the community (work, school, store, doctor appts). DCF can benefit from the extra bus passes and UBER/LYFT gift cards.
C. (age 2/Male) is a sweet and energetic toddler in foster care. He is fortunate to be placed with his loving Aunt and uncle through the kinship program. C. loves playing and running around with his cousins and family, and is doing well. At this time, the kinship home is needing assistance with obtaining a crib OR toddler bed for C. Even better, a crib that converts to a toddler bed that can grow with C. would be amazing. This family is a two parent household, however income fluctuates and is the budget is not flexible. Any assistance meeting this need would be a huge blessing, thank you!
D. is a young man who has an intellectual disability. He is going to be "aging out" of foster care, and has a rough past year. He is now approved to be placed with his sister under a kinship placement. His sister was previously in foster care as well, and she is doing well for herself. She is going to help him and become his adult guardian after his release from state custody. D.'s sister was able to obtain a donated full-size bed and box spring, but they still need help obtaining a full-size bed frame. Any assistance would be a tremendous blessing to these siblings. Thank you in advance, God Bless!
