Critical Request
We have 3 children who are in a very unique situation. Due to the condition of mom's home, the children were removed for their safety. All items in that home is not available. Mom is currently in jail and we are scrambling to keep these kids from coming into DCF custody. The father lives in another town and is unable to shift this way just yet so the children are going to grandma's house but needs items to continue forward while they are in limbo. Children need clothes but we don't know sizes. Children also need hygiene materials.

DCCCA is serving a family who is in need of housing due to domestic violence in the home. Mom has just started a new job and does not have the full amount needed to pay the deposit on the new apartment she found for her family. She has paid as much as she can and just needs assistance with the remaining amount as the apartment complex will not hold it for her without it being paid entirely. The family is currently homeless and bouncing between friends and family homes. This donation would ensure stable and safe housing for the family and keep the family unit together. A contribution to this family would be incredibly meaningful and help them get started in their healing.

H, 4 and V, 3 have been separated from their father since 2020. They have had very limited contact with their father up until April of 2023 due to court orders. Father has completed every task put in front of him without any problems. Visits have been going great and the family is rebuilding the bond between them. Father has been fighting for the girls since they were removed from his care and is very resilient. This case has lasted longer than usual at no fault of the father as he is more than compliant. Unfortunately, the court process and been a slow one. Father has a room for the girls set up with toys and a couple of beds. However, due to the length of this case the beds that Dad previously bought the girls are no longer the size the girls need. He has a crib that turns into a toddler day bed and a toddler bed. He does not have the funds to get different beds and a set of bunk beds would be ideal for the girls. We are hoping to get the girls home at the start of the new year. But with the holidays coming up we would like to do our best to relieve some of the financial burden Dad will face. Father is looking forward to the holidays coming up as it will be the first time in about 3 years he will get to be with the girls. I know he is especially looking to Christmas. He is a single father and all the help he can get would be greatly appreciated. If we could just take one thing off his plate it would mean the world.

The Wichita SFM Office has an annual Trunk or Treat event on October 31st. This provides a safe environment for the youth to dress up and have some fun with people who care about them and their well-being. We would love to be able to provide lots of candy and small prizes to give out to the children when they are there. Can you please help us provide some of the candy and small prizes? Thank you for anything that you are willing to donate. Even if it's just one bag of candy, if everyone donated one bag of candy, there would be plenty to go around. We have the best CarePortal Churches and we are so grateful that you help us make a difference in the lives of children and families. Special Instructions: These donations can be dropped off at the SFM Wichita Office at 4155 E. Harry St. Wichita, KS 67218 in care of Angie Tucker for the Trunk or Treat Event. Thank you all so much!

DCCCA serves family with a variety of resource needs. Some families are food insecure and need access to food banks, while some parents need employment resources. The barrier to accessing community resources by families in need is their lack of transportation. In order to provide more immediate assistance DCCCA is asking for a few bus pass donations to keep on hand so we have them readily available for our families in need. This will help improve the safety and well being of the household by meeting family's needs immediately.

Family of 2 Mother and son have undergone financial difficulties and housing instability. They are currently residing with an adult sibling for the foreseeable future while mother builds up some stability financially. Mother and son are currently sleeping on couches in the living room - the family is in need of two beds (twin or full-sized) and sheets/blankets/pillow to promote the safety and well-being of the caregiver and child. Child has struggled with some mental health concerns that have resulted in self-harming behaviors in the past, a lockbox or some sort of small safe to keep medications and other items stored away in prevention of further harmful behaviors would be beneficial for this family as well. The family has communicated the need for towels and hygiene products (shampoo, body wash, and deodorant) and clothes for Child (Size Adult Small).

High Urgency Request
This young lady recently moved into a new apartment and was formerly in foster care so she does not have a lot of support available to help her out. On top of that, she is a mom of a one year old boy and is expecting another baby in December of this year. While she works full-time and lives with boyfriend/father of the children who recently became employed, they do not make enough income to pay for their living costs and purchase items for their baby and new household. The family would be very appreciative of any assistance offered to them!

Foster mom is caring for 9 kids total (some bio, some she's a kinship placement for). She is also taking care of her mother who recently had a stroke. This family's most recent home had a major mold issue, forcing them to move as well as get rid of many of their belongings. They could use help re-stocking home items, specifically kitchen gear, linens, bunkbed frames, and bedding.

DCCCA is assisting a mother raising two children on her own has been diligently working 1-2 jobs to ensure their financial stability. Unfortunately, the family's refrigerator consistently malfunctions, requiring frequent defrosting, which poses a significant challenge in maintaining the proper temperature for storing food, and they are losing perfectly good food. Complicating matters, this client resides in a home passed down from her father, leaving her without a landlord to turn to for fridge maintenance. The family would deeply appreciate the generosity of a refrigerator donation, which would enable them to continue providing their children with food kept at the appropriate temperature as the family lives paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford to take on this big of an expense.
