Help Improve a Child's Well-being

Normal Request
The organization is needing help providing a 14-year-old male, placed in DCF custody, with a dental procedure. The child is needing a root canal re-done and his health insurance will not pay for the procedure. The procedure will repair the child's damaged tooth and the child will no longer be in pain or have sensitivity issues. The child does not have a parent that would be able to assist in the cost.

Father has recently completed in-patient treatment and now his children have moved in with him. They are currently staying with a relative where their available space is limited but they currently do not have a kitchen table. The boys have stated they would like to set a table to be able to eat together as a family instead of in their separate rooms. The family has requested a folding card table with 3-4 folding chairs to best accommodate the space they are in because they don't have enough room for a full kitchen table. Thank you for any help to this family!

This grandmother is taking care of her three grandchildren, ages 9, 10, and 12 years old. They have quite a lot of laundry to do each week and it gets so expensive and time-consuming for grandma to go to the laundry mat while working full-time to support her household. She is spending over $120 a month just on the laundry mat in order to make sure they are clean. Can you please help them with a gently used washer and dryer? This would be such a blessing and they would all be so grateful. Thank you for anything that you can help with.

37yo Mother who was relocated here from Wichita after their apartment burnt down. They lost everything in the fire before they were relocated to a shelter here. Mom found housing and a job. Then Mat. Grandma passed away. The family has been through so much. 8yo Female and 10yo Male need winter coats, and a couple Christmas gifts for under their tree. Mother has recently lost her job due to having to deal with her Mother's death and having to spend time doing end of life things. The Mother is grateful for whatever they can be given. Mother is currently working with the GOALS program with DCF to get back to work. The children also had many bouts of illness which has been hard on Mom financially as well. This family would do better if you bought the Christmas Gifts and gave them directly. As for coats I would say the same. Mom struggles with budgeting, and she has been under a lot of stress. Please email or call this CPS(###) ###-#### Jaylene Burge

A is a 12-year-old male and he does not have a bed. He has two younger sisters and his mom is doing the best that she can to provide for them. Mom recently had a baby and just returned to work after being off for maternity leave. His bed would be located in their living room so if someone had a daybed they would be willing to donate, that would be great as well. Thank you for anything that you can help provide, it will be so appreciated and the family would be so grateful.

A recent single mom of a 2 year old and twin 9 month olds. Mom is struggling to stay on top of things after placing a temporary PFA on the dad to the twins who became threatening in a homicidal way towards mom and girls. The oldest has reintegrated back home to mom and is due to be fully out of DCF custody in December. Mom has maintained her sobriety for 3 years now. She has a great fear that she will lose all her girls due to the new report and all that has happened even though she has taken the protective measures she has needed. Mom is financially struggling with some things. This is due to the dad of the twins shutting her electricity off and mom had to get it back on; dad destroying the car she drove for work which was repo which prevents her from getting to and from work. Mom is needing assistance with some clothing items for her and her girls. Her food stamps are not yet active and is struggling with food as well. The twins are size 12 months, the oldest girl is 2T-3T. Mom doesn't know her size, she goes in and sees what fits. Everyone needs coats, shoes, and socks. The twins are still on formula - similac sensitive. And she is getting low on that. Even though she has WIC, she has to wait before she can get more.

This mother of 5 left everything including her support system, in order to take care of her children. She worked hard and was able to save up and get a place that would meet the qualifications for her big family finally so they could move in with her. They are rebuilding now and desperately need some help. She works full-time and is doing the best that she can. They only have a small mini-fridge for their food and their only source to cook their food is a crock pot, which they are grateful for. Do you have some gently used appliances and dishware that need a new home? Anything that you can help with, this family would be so blessed by your generosity. Thank you for anything that you can share with them.

A single, working mother has successfully reintegrated her two children home, (ages 10 & 7). The family is stable, and working well with aftercare services. The children and continuing to grow and thrive with mom. At this time, mom can only wash clothes in the home, and they are in need of an electric dryer. This busy mom works hard to find time to go to the laundry mat, but a dryer in the home would be a tremendous help for her and the children. Mom works full-time and her budget is tight. Any assistance would be a huge blessing. Thank you in advance, God Bless!
