Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing

A mom of five needs new shoes for all five children and clothing for one of the children. This family arrived at Raleigh Rescue Mission a few days ago, coming directly from the Salvation Army. The oldest child told his teacher here that he was so happy to be here. He said the family didn't get to shower often at the Salvation Army because their names were at the bottom of the list of who got to shower, and the care workers had a fixed time limit for showers.

This boy is very large for his age (age 10), and his feet are very wide. I have not seen the shoes for his siblings, but his shoes look as if they are about to burst open because they are far too small.

Shoes sizes needed: Please get sneakers for all the children.

  1. Child 1, boy, age 10 - men's size 7 wide
  2. Child 2, twin girl, age 9, size big kid 2
  3. Child 3, twin girl, age 9, size big kid 3
  4. Child 4, boy, age 7, size big kid 13
  5. Child 5, girl, age 5, size little kid 9c

Child 1, boy, age 10 needs clothing because he wears a men's size small. The largest children's clothing we have onsite is too small for him. He prefers athletic clothing (t-shirts and basketball shorts) and loves to draw.

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing

I am reaching out on behalf of a family in need of support. The family consists of a devoted elderly woman who adopted her niece as a baby, stepping in to provide love and stability when the child was at risk of entering the foster care system. Now a teenager, this young woman is preparing to begin her senior year of high school—grieving the recent loss of her father while continuing to thrive academically. Despite the challenges they face, the teen has maintained straight A’s and has her heart set on attending Louisiana State University to pursue a career in forensics. She would be the first in her family to graduate from high school and attend college—an extraordinary milestone made possible by her resilience and her adoptive mother’s unwavering support. Due to her age, the adoptive mother is unable to work and lives on a very limited income, making it difficult to manage the growing expenses of senior year. However, she is determined to give her daughter the full experience she’s earned so she can feel the pride and joy of her accomplishments. I am requesting a $150 Visa gift card to help cover some of these expenses, including school supplies, a senior ring, and graduation items. This support would not only help ease a financial burden but would also be a meaningful investment in a young woman’s future and a celebration of all she has achieved.

Help Reunify a Bio Family

In Teller County, a sweet and resilient 15-year-old girl is in urgent need of support from our caring community. This teen has faced more than any teen should, including mental health trauma, running away, and foster care placement. She has recently begun the difficult journey of healing and she is working hard every day to rebuild her mental health and create a better future. School has been a challenge due to the trauma she’s endured, but she remains determined to succeed. Right now, she needs a few basic items to help create a sense of stability in her life: a plastic dresser (under $40) and a laundry basket (under $30). These may seem like small things, but for her, they represent comfort, organization, and hope. Any support you can offer whether it’s a donation, a shared resource, or simply spreading the word, can make a real difference in helping her move forward. Thank you for opening your heart; your generosity will bring much-needed relief and encouragement to a young girl who is working hard to overcome unimaginable challenges. Thank you so much for considering this request.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family

I've been walking alongside an incredible single mom of 5 kids for about a year and half. She successfully completed a program at Leah's Hope (who helps women with children at risk of homelessness.) She has made many sacrifices and exhausted all of her resources to provide for her kids. She's maintaining employment and making progress in her life, but recently, her sister was incarcerated, so she took in her two nephews so they wouldn't have to go into the foster care system. The cost of supporting two additional children has caused a strain on her finances and she has fallen behind on her car payment. Her car is at risk of being repossessed if she does not make a payment of $413. If her car gets repossessed, she would not have transportation to and from work, so she would also be at risk of losing her job. Any help for this amazing mom would be greatly appreciated!

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing

Hello! Church, we have an opportunity to come alongside a single mom who is a member at Wildwood & help support her as she cares for the older bio siblings (brothers ages 9 & 12) of her adopted son. The brothers are still in foster care and need care for a period of 10 days in July. To say yes, the single mom needs childcare for the boys while she is at work. There are openings at a local day camp for both boys. The cost for 7 days of camp for both boys is $700. Please keep this family in your prayers - pray specifically for the time the three brothers will have together. If you feel led, please consider giving financially so that we can help support this family, allowing all three siblings to have 10 days together this summer. There are two ways to give financially:

  1. Financial contributions can be made to Wildwood's CarePortal Fund by clicking on this link and selecting the green button that says "Give to our CarePortal Fund." Go To Link
  2. You can contribute online at Wildwood's giving page and in the memo line put "Adoptive & Foster Care Ministry": Go To Link

Please reach out to Naomi at ******@email.com with any questions. Thank you for your support of the Adoptive & Foster Care community at Wildwood!

Alleviate Food/Essentials Insecurity

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to serve two families in our community. While our assistance was very much appreciated, it does not alleviate the on-going need for these families. Both families have young children who are home during the summer months. To ensure that they have access to hot meals during the summer while they are out of school, Heartland is initiating a request to provide food gift cards to each family throughout the duration of the summer.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family

A father at Point Church has recently regained custody of his three children and could use some clothing items for them. He is in need of a few shirts, a few pairs of shorts, a pair of pajamas, a few pairs of socks and underwear, and a pair of shoes for his 5-year-old daughter (clothing size 5-6, shoe size 11-13), 7-year-old daughter (clothing size 8-10, underwear size 10-12, shoe size 12-13), and 10-year-old son (clothing size 14, shoe size 5). Secondhand clothing in good condition is fine. It would be a blessing for them to have these items by July 11.
