This household with a single mother of 4 children were housed about a year ago in our housing program after their father passed away. They have been fairly stable and a wonderful family to work with. The mom has some physical limitations, which limits her ability to gain employment and are currently living on limited income. The mom' twin daughters recently started college, which motivated mom to also go to school. Mom's goal is to graduate with an Associate's Degree, which will help her while she job seeks despite the mobility limitations. In the meantime, their dining table became unusable and are in need of a new one that can accommodate a family of 5 - however not too large since it's a smaller apartment. Mom would also like a regular rug, or a play rug for her 4 year old daughter.

Family had a case of bed bugs and is in need of a full-size mattress and box spring for a teenager. Family consists of a single mother raising four children, with minimal support. Mother receives minimum wage and is unable to afford to refurnish the teenage child's bed. The teenage child's room was the most affected.
The client is a single mother in her 30s. She is raising 2 biological children (ages 9 and 5yo) and her 4yo grandson that she adopted. While the client does receive survivor’s benefits for her grandson, overall the client receives very little support in terms of financial aid for her kiddos. Though the client works full time, she is still struggling to make ends meet. Recently, the client had the opportunity to move out of the 1 room she was sharing with her kids, and into their own apartment. We were thankfully able to help financially support the family to get them into their new housing! Now, however, we are no longer able to financially support them. When they were sharing a room, the family was just sharing 1 large bed. Now that the kids have their own room, they’re in need of beds! The client already owns a bunkbed for the 2 older kiddos, but still needs 3 twin mattresses and 1 twin bed. The client is also asking for a $250 Target gift card to get the kids new clothes/bedding/etc (basically money that can go towards the everyday household needs of the family). The client has expressed her gratitude for any and all support that she and her family receives.

Christine:
We are happy to help! We can provide bed frame and mattresses. We will contact client and ask what bedding the kids would enjoy and we will provide those as well, eliminating the need for the gift card.

Mom has had to leave the home due to safety concerns. She has filed 2 restraining orders and has a pending case against the children's other parent. She is unable to return home. Mom is caring for three small children, ages 5, 5, and 6. Mom recently lost her job and has fallen behind on her car payments. She has been doing Instacart and DoorDash in order to make rent and pay for emergency dental services for one of the twins who has treatment coming up to get 8 teeth taken out next week. She is really worried that her car will get towed and repossessed again, especially if she's in the hospital or trying to make rent money. If she can get help with this it would be greatly appreciated and help with so much with her stress and worry.

Three children living with a single mother (girl 5 years, boy 14 years, and boy 17 years. They are working in a Family Maintenance process. The 14 years boy just started attending school after a long time of absence. It would be a great incentive to get the sports shoes.
The 5 years girl: Shirts size M, pants size L and shoes size 2.
The 14 years boy: Shirts size L, pants size L and sport shoes size 8 (He would like to get Jordan's style).
The 17 years boy: Shirts size L, pants size L and shoes size 8.
After the need is met, children will be better dressed for school and feel more comfortable attending school; and the oldest boy looking for a job too.

A single (widowed) mother has been struggling to maintain her sobriety resulting in her reunification services being terminated. The child, 10-year-old male, is in foster care with the goal of adoption/legal guardianship; however, at this time, there is not a family who is willing to provide permanency for this child. The mother is willing and ready to accept support from the faith-based group, Harvest Church, in order to participate in the Celebrate Recovery program, and/or a similar program. The mother is employed; however, her support system is limited. The mother would benefit from the community support provided by the Celebrate Recovery program and her participation/service role in this program would assist with her accountability for remaining clean and sober.
The child would benefit from his mother's sobriety in that, should the mother demonstrate the ability to maintain sobriety, the mother's attorney may be able to file a Request to Change Court Order (JV-180) requesting the mother's services be reinstated. Further, should the mother maintain sobriety, they may be able to request liberalized visits with the child.
The mother' car is unreliable; therefore, she would benefit from community and perhaps some transportation to and from the Celebrate Recovery church events.

This family is a Mom and her two daughters. One is an 8th-grade student and the other is a 10th-grade student. Mom lost her job and has had to move back in with her parents. Mom is having a difficult time getting the children to school due to lack of money for gas. The 8th-grade student is already attending an independent study school. The 10th-grade student is also attending an independent study school but needs to come to school once a week, and thus far, has been unable to. Gas money would allow her to get her daughter to school when needed and help her look for employment.
