I am seeking financial support to help fund driving lessons and a driver’s test through Drive Safe Driving School for a resilient 19-year-old young adult who hasn’t had the opportunity to learn the essential skill of driving due to significant life barriers. This young man, his mother, and 11 year old brother have been living in a temporary unstable housing situation in rural Douglas County. Transportation options are severely limited. His mother does not have a valid dritver’s license, and there are no family or friends available to teach him how to drive. This young adult has navigated life under the weight of chronic instability and poverty. Getting to essential services is a constant challenge and vital resources like food pantries are often inaccessible. Despite challenges, this young man is working closely with community services and making great strides toward independence. He is committed to earning his GED, having been disconnected from the education system since 8th grade, and he is highly motivated to gain stable employment. The opportunity to drive would be life-changing: it would open doors to jobs, education, and essential services, while also giving him a sense of dignity and self-worth that comes from achieving a goal so many of his peers take for granted. Financial funding may contribute to giving a young adult who has faced overwhelming obstacles a real chance at building a stable and successful future.

I am currently working with a teen who has gone through many traumas in her life, starting as a baby, who is now facing more adversity. This teenager has been working very hard in her education, her mental health, and substance use treatment and has even been awarded employee of the month at her job this past month. This teen has been through a lot + is still facing a lot and her accomplishments deserve to be celebrated. This request is for a $50 gift card to target for the teen to know her hard work doesn't go unnoticed and to be able to celebrate her success in treatment and her employee of the month award while going through difficult emotional and legal tasks.

A single mother and her two children recently moved into their first apartment alone. Her children are 9 and 2. The nine-year-old has significant mental health needs and has a seizure disorder. His sister is in need of a bed frame and only has a mattress currently. The mother is requesting a dining table for their kitchen, a toddler size bed frame, two dressers for the children's clothes, and any seating options. There are significant financial barriers due to unemployment and the family does not have transportation.

DHS is currently working with a family that is living in a homeless shelter, and the biological parent is experiencing some health problems. Due to these health problems, she is not able to help take her daughter to and from school every day, and is having her stepfather help out with transportation. Due to the biological parent not being able to work, the family is requesting some financial support to help with gas money. A gas gift card is being requested to help offset the cost of travel every day for school.

The child in this family is back home with her mother. The mother is very young and has never had a license or a car. This mother recently got a housing voucher and moved to the Longmont area. This mother and child are in an apartment building that is very far from everything. This mother is requesting a bicycle and a trailer for the child as well as a helmet for both of them if possible. The child is approximately 18 months old and is female. This request will help this mother be able to get her child to daycare in a more timely fashion and be able to look for a job as well.

I am working with a mother who lost custody of her child. She is working on getting him back, but she is struggling financially. She does not have much food in her home despite going to food banks. She is making it by on minimal groceries for herself, but she does not have enough food to supply to her son. She is working full time and is doing the best that she can. I am hoping to get her some support through a King Soopers gift card so she can purchase some groceries for her son. He is 3 years old and is very picky on what is being received by the food bank.

I am currently working with a single mother of two who is a survivor of domestic violence. She is currently doordashing as her primary job, but she is struggling to afford the amount of gas that goes into doordashing. She has a 4 year old son that she takes with her since she cant afford daycare. I am asking for any help in assisting mom with some gift cards for gas so ensure that she can continue to doordash while caring for her two children. The father is currently out of the picture due to a recent arrest for domestic violence against mother. I do not want mother to feel as though she needs to reply on her abuse to provide her for herself and her children.
Thank you!

A single kinship provider had taken in his 15 month old family member. He is working so hard to provide a safe and stable home for him and continues to be met with financial barriers. He is requesting a dresser that he can bolt to the wall, this can be used in good condition or new. He is currently using plastic bins but the toddler loves to climb and he is very concerned he will climb on it and it will fall on him. He has explored other dresser options but the ones he can afford are too flimsy and unsafe for this child. Thank you so much for considering and your help!

A devoted grandmother has taken in her teenage granddaughter after a sudden family crisis, providing love and stability. They’re making do with a mattress on the floor, but a queen platform base would offer them a more dignified, restful space as they rebuild their lives together, and your support could bring them one step closer to healing and hope.
