I have the privilege of working alongside a resilient and courageous client—a single mother of four, with her youngest just 5 months old. Over the past year, I’ve witnessed her endure an overwhelming number of hardships. During her pregnancy, she experienced homelessness, living out of her car while tirelessly seeking shelter, all without success.

Through her determination, she was eventually able to secure stable housing. Unfortunately, due to a recent incident of domestic violence involving the father of her children—who had been her only source of financial support—she is now facing eviction for nonpayment of rent. On top of this, she recently lost her car, which has made it impossible for her to work and maintain financial stability.

She has been reaching out to shelters for over a month, with no success. Thankfully, she has finally found a temporary place to stay that could offer her and her children some stability. However, she needs to come up with a $500 deposit to secure it.

Any support, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated. It will not only help her secure safe housing but also mark a crucial first step in rebuilding a stable and hopeful future for her and her children.

Support a Family During Kidney Transplant Recovery

A family of four is in urgent need of support. The mother has been unable to work for four years due to severe medical issues and is finally receiving a long-awaited kidney transplant after seven years on the donor list. The father works full-time and also serves as the primary caregiver. He is driving 2 hours each way to get his wife to hospital appointments, putting significant financial strain on the family. Their only bathroom is unsafe and unusable, and the children have been displaced due to financial hardship.

We are requesting $3,500 to help: Cover gas and travel expenses for transplant appointments, Repair the bathroom floor to create a safe recovery space, Reunite the children under one roof during this critical time.

Let’s help bring healing, hope, and stability to this resilient family.

Mom is recently a single mother of 6 children, and she has been temporarily unemployed. She has had to move due to case circumstances. She has secured day care for the children but has gotten behind in the weekly payment. She pays $47 a week for all children. She owes a balance of $274. This will ensure the children can stay in the same day care where they are comfortable and familiar.

The family recently moved to Dallas, and they are living in a hotel room. The hotel room doesn't have good ventilation and it's causing air Quilty issues. They are a one income household. Mom does keep the room clean. She is currently savings up to move out of the hotel, but this request would help with the temporary placement she has now for her and her daughter.

This family is a single parent low-income household with two intellectually and developmentally disabled children that need constant care and attention from the parent. Mother is unable to have a full-time job to have the financial ability to provide the adequate furniture that is needed in the home. Mother does not have a lot of support from the community and the school has not been favorable of the mother which limits her access to resources. Medical care for the children is expensive and she pays for it out of pocket and her family helps her financially to pay the bills for the home.

Single mother recently moved into one bedroom apartment with 8-year-old daughter. The apartment does not have much furniture, and they are both sleeping in the same bed. Assistance would help stabilize the residence and help make the apartment feel like a home for the child. The Mother is on her own in Texas and is doing her best to provide safety and wellbeing for her child but does need help. Childs favorite color is pink and loves to play with toys. Age-appropriate books would be beneficial as the child struggles with reading. Child's favorite book is the princess and the frog. Family is requesting a twin sized bed to alleviate having to sleep in the same bed, sheets and pillows for bed, a frame, a dresser, and possibly a tv for the living room.

The child is 15yo in 9th grade. The family moved from Irving to Dallas and He was no longer able to get to school in Irving. The local school in Dallas requires uniforms with the school logo and the mother is unable to afford. The child is in men sizes.

Hi, I’m following on the uniform shirts in this request. Dallas Community Partners were able to fill the request for uniform pants and shoes. We are still needing financial assistance for school uniforms purchased from the school with the logo.

Low-income single mom is requesting assistance with obtaining 2 mattresses for her younger children. They are all currently co-sleeping on 1 bed. The Department can provide air mattresses, but we are hoping for a more long-term solution.

Upon completing a home visit, CM noticed that there was no furniture in the family's living room and one of the bedrooms was completely empty. Our current client, a 16-year-old girl, shares a queen size bed between 2 other family members, while her caregiver sleeps on the floor. The family has 1 adult currently working while the other is forced to stay home and care for their 8-month-old baby boy. The family is financially limited as to how much they can spend. Our client needs her own bed to have a little bit more space and privacy.

The children in the home need beds to help with safe sleep. The mother is a domestic violence survivor and a single mother who has been placed into a new home with little to now help with furniture for her children.
