Hello everyone, we have a wonderful family from our Lead Neelys Bend Campus. One of our students requires help with a new pair of glasses. Unfortunately, while on an educational adventure, the student had an incident with their glasses and they broke. Despite efforts to fix them, the damage has increased. The parent took their child to the eye doctor, but unfortunately, they ran out of warranty for a replacement pair of glasses. The earliest the student can get new replacement glasses with insurance is next April. This is causing a problem for the student as the glasses are not staying on their face properly. Therefore, we are reaching out to see if anyone could support this family in getting a new pair of glasses for our student. Thank you in advance for any support that can be provided.
We have a family of 5 that is needing a washing machine. In the home is dad, mom and 3 school aged siblings. They have been in Dunlap for about 1 month.
We have an sponsor who is able to donate up to $400 for a washing machine. We need assistance locating a working washing machine and delivery and set up.
Mary:
I have located a washer that can be delivered to the family in need. Men from The Vine will complete the install. I just need details of obtaining the funding that is available and how to set up delivery. Thanks!
Good Afternoon. I have a mother who experienced a water leak in her home. The leak was under the house. She was unaware of the leak. It caused her water bill to go up to $1,600. She was able to pay a portion of the bill but she is still in need of $500. They are threating to cut of her water if she does not pay the reminder balance

Good Afternoon. I have a single mother who is at risk of being homeless. She has two children and she does the best that she can. She is behind on rent due to losing her housing voucher. She is barley making ends meet with all the financial burdens she is responsible for. She owes 3600 in rent and court fees. Please help her keep a roof over her head and a warm place for her and her children. If you are unable to pay the full amount anything helps. She has been granted an extension but may be kicked out as soon as Tuesday of next week.

CPS/DCS is working with a mom who lives in Lawrenceburg who is in need of a washer and dryer. She has three boys and is divorced. Unfortunately she is not getting any childcare support payments. They are financially struggling and getting a washer and dryer will make a big difference for them. A working second hard washer/dryer is totally OK.

This momma has done a 180 degree turn around in her life since we met her and she chose life for her little ones. She has hit a snag, however, and needs a little help. We want to provide her with gas cards so she can transport her children to school. She is not working at the moment because she is on a waiting list for day care, but plans on working as soon as she can make safe arrangements for the baby's care. She never asks us for much, so let's bless her with her transportation needs. Transportation is so important to create an attitude of independence and accomplishment. Let's help her continue to move in the right direction.
One of our moms needs help paying her rent. We helped her find safe housing for her and her three children as they exited an unsafe environment. We are so proud of the steps she's making to step into motherhood, provide for her family, and be all that God has called her to be. Unfortunately, she lost her job because her children got sick and she had to miss work. Praise report though, is that she has another interview tomorrow - nothing is keeping this courageous mom down! Let's show her that she made the right decision not to abort her baby, and that she can make it! Help us pay her rent for December so they can continue living in the safe environment they now have.
When we met this amazing momma, she had only a vehicle to her name. We met her when she decided not to abort her baby, and have since helped her deliver a beautiful baby girl and get on her feet. She found employment, a place to live and is providing for her children. She recently had car issues, could not get to work, and consequently lost her job. Proud to say she has found another one, but needs help to pay for gas to get to work. You can support her by helping us purchase gas gift cards for her. Please help her cross her finish line with grace and dignity.
Two years ago, this sweet woman thought abortion was the answer to her problems. She changed her mind and we are proud to say that we are helping her find real solutions to her problems since then. She has come so far, but is struggling paying her rent. She has a full time job but they are only giving her part time hours and she cannot. make ends meet. Please consider showing this mom she made the right decision by helping us pay her rent. She is a single mom raising three children and doing a beautiful job of it. Let's encourage her to finish strong.
I have a heartwarming story to share with you today. There is a wonderful family that attends Lead Cameron Campus, and earlier this week, we received news that they were going through a tough financial situation. The parent had to travel across the U.S for a family emergency, and as a result, she had to miss work for eight days. Now that they are back, the family is struggling to make ends meet, and they are facing the threat of being evicted because they don't believe they'll have enough to cover the rest of the rent.
It would mean the world to this family if anyone could provide any help towards the goal amount. We at LEAD Public Schools believe in the power of community and supporting one another in times of need.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
A Nashville mother, father, and son recently lost everything in a tragic condo fire. They are working toward rebuilding their lives and are in need of assistance. We are looking to provide the family with gift cards to help with basic needs (clothes, toiletries, bedding, furniture, etc). Any help would be much appreciated.
DCS and the Wrap Around closet in Giles County are helping a grandmother gain full custody of her two grandchildren. The children have been in a total of 8 foster homes over the last several years, so things have been very rough for them. The children will be moving to Giles County from Ohio two weeks before Christmas. We want the grandma setup for success as she is taken on the responsible to love and take care of these kids.
The are in need of bedroom furniture for the kids, they need winter coats and grandma needs help getting the cabinets stocked for their arrival. The Wrap Around Closet is also helping with Christmas presents and school supplies. Please help us wrap around this grandma and these kids!

DCS and the Wrap Closet in Giles County are working together to support a biological family. The family has four children, but unfortunately they only have their beds to sit on. We are hoping to provide this family with a couch so they have a common space to hang out together in their living room. Either 2 couches or a sectional would work great for the family. A second hand couch is totally OK.

Last week through the amazing responses on CarePortal a veteran dad was able to secure housing. He moved into his new place and is getting things together for his kids to come home. He has most of the furniture setup in the home but is still in need of some items for the kids. His kids are 9 (girl), 10 (boy) and 12 (girl).
Second hand items are OK, he just needs these final pieces to finalize the process and get ready for their return.

DCS in Wayne county is working with a family to try and keep them together. The parents have had a lot of trauma in their childhood and they are trying hard to parent them better than when they were parented. The mom also has significant health issues. The parents were able to buy queen mattresses for the kids after a bedbug problem early this year, but those mattresses are currently on the floor. The family would love help with a queen bed frame (one with no box spring required), sheets and a mattress protector.

AGAPE is currently serving a teen mother who is an alleged sex trafficking victim from Guatemala. Approximately a month ago, her 9 month old little boy died. Since the infant wasn’t in foster care at the time of his death, the State of TN was not required to pay for a funeral. AGAPE is taking on all costs for this funeral so that this teen mother can honor her son and bury him according to her wishes. Any financial assistance to pay for these costs would be a tremendous blessing.
