This family consists of a single mother and her two young children. She currently lives in a public housing unit where she is struggling financially and emotionally to support her family. She successfully enrolled in a free CNA class in order to obtain her Certified Nurse Assistant certification. But she is not able to afford scrubs as a uniform. A few pair of medical scrubs in a size XL or 1X will help this mother continue her journey to strengthen herself and her household.
A single mother and daughter are both disabled and have a very limited income. They are in need of women's shirts size 2XL, a sofa, a queen size mattress and queen-size bedding. If any of the items could be provided to them, it would improve their quality of life.
Great Grandmother has received full custody in efforts to close the case I am requesting a baby bed that converts into toddler/day bed then to a twin a bed. The Great Grandmother is on a fixed income but she does not qualify for much assistance. Anything to ensure that this baby girl has her own space to grow and thrive would be a great benefit for this family unit.

A father and mother of 5 children are struggling to sustain in their household. The family car got repossessed. The father and oldest child are looking for work. The mother is mentally ill and unable to work. While the family can use public transportation, having a vehicle would help with the job searches, commute to work, and transport the family for their day-to-day needs.
I have an open investigation involving a 16 year old boy and his parents. The conditions of the home are deplorable and the child has been diverted to family. There are concerns regarding structural issues of the home and rat infestation as well. I am requesting a vacuum cleaner for the family as they are need of this in order to clean.

A biological family who was a victim in the hazardous conditions in James Crossing have obtain new housing and is needing furniture items to make their new home feel home like. This need will benefit the family due to their children currently being in foster care and one of the main concerns has been housing and getting out of the current environment. The family has worked with DSS and has been working with service providers to address the concerns that brought the children into care, and the items would really help this family at this time. Anything will help this family. Thank you!

I am currently working with a kinship family who is needing to get some home repairs completed. It is a grandmother and her granddaughter who resides in the home and her grandson and his friends have been extremely kind to offer their services to help fix the repairs in the home. The home is an older home and they are needing to replace the flooring in the home and due to this, the grandmother and her grandchild or having to leave the home for it to be repaired. Grandma is looking at some airbnb homes for them to stay while the home is being repaired. Grandma is expecting the repairs to take a few months and believes the airbnb will cost her about $3000 and is just asking for a little help if possible. If this need is met Grandma can continue to live within her financial means while caring for her granddaughter and buying supplies and materials to have her home repaired. Grandma can also continue to provide a safe home for her granddaughter.

I am currently working with a mother of two 15 year olds who needs assistance with their electric and water bill. Mother receives disability and is working hard to catch up on her bills. The family has been without utilities and food for a couple of weeks. Any assistance with these bills would help the family get back on their feet and encourage them to continue to work hard to provide.

Single mother of 3 girls, ages 3 and 1 year old twins. Mom is a victim of DV, has filed a PO and is facing financial difficulties. The oldest daughter has a genetic condition, lateral menegocele, and the twins have hip deformities. Mom is behind in her rent ($1500), her light bill ($462.93) and water bill ($41.25) as she has no source of income and the childrens' father is not allowed contact at this time. Mother is also in need of diapers and wipes. Pullups size 3T and diapers size 5/6.

1 year old has been removed from his mother's care due to concerns regarding the cleanliness of the home. She presents with hoarding tendencies and has diminished protective capacity to keep the home clean and appropriate for young children. She has diagnoses of schizophrenia, anxiety, bi-polar, hoarding, and intellectual/developmental disability. The mother has had multiple CPS cases and has not been able to retain custody of her other children. FSS feels that a vacuum would assist mom with adequately cleaning the home, removing choking hazards and addressing other safety concerns from the floor to work toward reunification.

I am currently working with a kinship family consisting of a single grandmother caring for her 4 grandchildren ages, 4, 11, 13, and 16. She was blessed with the opportunity to send the three older kids to Hat Creek Camp for an overnight summer camp! However, she is in need of transportation to get them there and pick them up. We would be grateful if someone would be willing to drive the grandmother, the 11 year old, and the 13 year old to the middle school camp for drop off on July 16th and for pick up on July 21st. Since different age groups attend on different weeks, transportation would also be needed for the 16 year old: drop off on July 23rd and pick up on July 28th.
Drop-off can be as early as 2pm, but they must be there by 3pm. Pickup on the last day of camp includes a 45-minute presentation by the campers to highlight what they learned that week to their caregivers. We ask that whoever brings the caregiver up the last days would be willing to wait for the grandmother to experience that. The presentation starts at 10 a.m. and campers must be out by 11 a.m. Thank you so much for aiding this grandmother and helping her grandkids experience camp this summer!
The family is in risk of losing their housing if damages in the home are not fixed. The landlord has agreed to complete the repairs but at the expense of the tenants. There is only one person in the home that is currently working due to childcare restraints of two young children. The family is struggling to focus on completing tasks required of them by DSS due to the stressors of maintaining a home. FSS has received a list of the repairs and the cost of them.

There are 10 students in need of support to help improve their well-being, strengthen them, and assist in preparing them for their future. As a part of their summer internship program from June 5-June 30, and the students will be placed at locations where they need STEEL-TOE boots. Many of the students come from low-income households. Thus, the additional support helps to alleviate stress on students. In addition, the goal is to provide students with everything they need to be successful without having to burden their families. All students are either rising juniors or seniors at their respective schools. The sizes are listed as follows (adult size shoes): Women size 9 needs two pair, Male size 12 needs two pair, Male size 10.5, Male size 9, Male size 11 needs two pairs, Male size 8, and Male size 9.5. PLEASE keep the receipts in the event the shoe does not fit.
A single mother who is in poverty is in need of a bed frame for her two girls. She is also in need of 2 dressers to put their clothes in. Having a bed frame would allow the girls to sleep better and having a dresser will allow them to have a place to put their clothes to better organize the home and declutter.

Two of the 3 children are in need of a bed. Child 1 needs a twin size bed frame and child 2 needs a twin bed. Also, no one in the family has a dresser to put their clothes in. They all have their clothes in totes. This family has only been here for 6 months and are struggling to make ends meet. If the children have beds they will probably sleep better. Also, if you all can provide 4 dressers they can all have a better place to put their clothes in and their rooms would be more organized. Thanks for your help!

Mother and her two children. We are in the process of returning one of her two sons to her in the next month and hopefully the other son within six months (he has more needs and we want to do this one at a time). Mom has steady employment, has left a toxic relationship and has no plans to return to it. She has signed a lease for a year on the apartment she is in. DSS is helping her to obtain a car as the one she has been using has had a lot of issues. DSS is helping her with childcare during the trial home placement. She could use some material items, and social support. So there are material needs which will be listed below and community support needs as well. This will help this to be a successful placement. She is wonderful with her children, and is in a much better place than when she came into care, but being a single mom to two children who both have various special needs is a challenge, and we want to do whatever we can to make this return home successful. She has bought a bunk bed for her children, but she is concerned about her oldest being on the top bunk when he comes home, so she is interested in a daybed with trundle at some point. She did ask for a toy organizer. Her oldest son is high on the Autism Sprectrum. she stated having the kind of organizer with drawers/baskets would be most helpful for him - I have listed this under 'baby items - other. Her past home had become infested with roaches and mice and what she did have there is no longer fit for use.

A kinship caregiver is caring for her three nieces ages 12 years old, and two are 10 years old. Her three nieces are high-energy and love to be kept busy. This caregiver could really benefit from a volunteer that spends time with the girls while she runs errands, goes grocery shopping, or completes household chores and sometimes transporting the girls to the activities they are involved in. This volunteer would be a great help for this caregiver, as her family lives out of state and she has expressed a desire in building her support system. A definite schedule can be coordinated with the kinship caregiver but this volunteer engagement would be around 10 hours a month.
Mom is asking for assistance to receive items that will assist in her youngest child physical therapy. The child has a weaker side and it requires him to have physical and occupational therapy. In order to ensure that she is able to work with him after therapist leaves for the session she will need certain items such as an activity gym with no wheels, push toy, weighted balls, thick foam mats, and extra large gated play area. If any of these things can be gifted to her it will assist in reliving a financial burden as well aid his mobility.

Mom has worked diligently with LDSS to complete the task that was requested of her and her children were returned home to her. She is still in full compliance with LDSS, working full-time and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Mom is only requesting a stroller for her youngest child. FSS is requesting that she also has assistance with getting the children summer clothes as well.
