Our school nurse is in need of items she would like to distribute to students in need. Items include mini hair brushes, lice treatments, and children's underwear (sizes 4 - 8), sweatpants and leggings (sizes 4 - 6), and a pack of thermometers. We have students whose hair is not being comb and they are developing knots on their hair. We also have started to see lice in some of the children's hair and some of our families cannot afford to pay for a lice treatment. As for the children underwear and clothing items, those are use when our students have an accident and they do not have a change of clothes. These items are used on a daily basis and it is difficult to maintain in stock. Lastly, the thermometers will be used for our nurse to hand out to our families when their child is sick. Some of our families do not know when their child is running a fever and our nurse would like to provide some education on how to use a thermometer and what is consider to be a safe temperature to send students to school. These items will help our students be successful in school and provide aide to our working families.

I have a family that is need of an air purifier . The child is a one year old and super cute and playful, but the child struggles often with getting sick. To combat the environment and help prevent the child from getting sick often, the doctors have recommended that the family get an air purifier for the child. The foster parents don’t have the resources to provide this for their child, so we are reaching out on their behalf to ensure the child can grow up in a healthier and more protective environment. The air purifier will help the child greatly and combat the sickness he is dealing with. Thank you for partnering with Oklahoma’s families!

Mother has asked for assistance in getting 3 sets of twin bedding. The family is moving into a housing facility where the beds are provided but the sheets are used. There are two young girls who would love to have some girl themed sheets and pillows. The mother could use some solid color sheets and a pillow. The girls also like stuffed animals and journals or coloring books. They do not have much and are starting over.

We are serving 1 newborn male child, who was displaced and has now entered foster care (with 3 foster siblings in the home preceding him) with only the clothing, hospital blankets and bottles they were given by the hospital. The family is in need of all clothing necessities including about zip up sleeper onesies, baby blankets and bottles as soon as possible. The child is currently in newborn and 0-3 month clothing. The foster family has purchased all other necessities. The foster family is willing to accept clothing or whatever is given to them at this point. They just want to make sure this child's needs are met.

Burmese Family #2
Catholic Charities will welcome another Burmese refugee family in December. This family is parents with an 8 year old. We do not have beds for the family and would welcome help providing the family with beds. I do not have a firm date for when they will arrive in December, but we will set up their apartment on December 4th. Then after they are welcomed at the airport, they will go straight to their furnished apartment with their case manager! It is always a joy to see the family's peace as they enter their new fully furnished apartment.
Gender Neutral Items are best.
Catholic Charities will walk with this family thru immediate case management for 3 months after their arrival. We will help with apartment set up, legal documents (like SS#), job placement, establishing medical care, enrolling their child in school, and much more. Helping the family with household items is a huge way to help the family get established in Tulsa!

Please help us continue to keep children safe and comfortable by assisting with getting beds for three children, ages 5, 9, and 11. These children live solely with their father, who is working to provide a safe home for them. The father is working to find employment, and has managed to get the children mattresses. The 9 and 11 year old share a mattress in their room, while the 5 year old has a mattress in her room. The father has put the needs of his children first, but needs an extra amount of help in order to improve his children's' lives. We appreciate any help given to this family. Blessings!

11 year old female is currently placed in a traditional foster home and is receiving Enhanced Foster Care services due to her behaviors. Prior to the child being placed in the home, the foster family made arrangements to fly to Orlando, FL for Christmas. The family wants the child to travel with them so that she does not feel left out. The kiddo has some behaviors and the family is concerned that respite will not be a good idea, especially since the family will be gone for Christmas and the child really wants to go with them. They are concerned that her behaviors will be escalated and that the respite home may not be able to handle her. The family is asking for help with purchasing a round trip ticket to Orlando, FL in the amount of $450.50 so that the child is able to remain with the foster family during the Christmas holiday.

Child is currently in a shelter in southern Oklahoma. She has the opportunity to be with a previous foster home placement for the holidays, so she is not in the shelter alone. The family need help with expenses in order to transport the child. The child has a good relationship with this previous foster home, and it would be more like being with family, if she could spend the holiday with them, and not in the shleter.
