Mother of three children needs urgent assistance by 05/31/2025 as she is currently homeless after being forced to leave a shelter and having been robbed by someone she trusted. The family is currently staying in a longterm hotel while mother waits for her voucher to come through or finds another shelter where she and her family can stay. Mother is working but had to use her last paycheck on her car. and the first week at the hotel. She will not get paid again until 06/16/2025

The amount requested would cover a full week. Children's Division is seeking additional funding at this time and mother is reaching out to other providers but if she does not have the necessary funds by 05/31/2025, she and her children will be out on the street.

Single mother of 5 children with a 6th child on the way. Father of the children is incarcerated. The family has overdue utilities and rent. They are currently homeless and unable to apply for living due to the overdue balances. She has tried utilizing community resources but all are unable to help. She is working with Big Brother Sig Sisters and the Jackson County Prevention Team. The overdue amounts are large, but anything would help get this family back on track.

Older youth could use assistance with an uber or lyft gift card. He is set to age out of care in a few weeks. He is in supported housing and applying for new jobs. He has an interview scheduled this weekend, but transportation is an issue. He is still trying to learn the local bus system and his Medicaid has denied him transport to interviews. A gift card could help give him an immediate transport option while we work with him and his program on other options for getting around in the future.

Good afternoon! I am requesting community assistance to support a pregnant older youth on my caseload and help get her Laptop for professional and educational use. My youth in question is 19 and in care of the MO Children's Division. She is presently living in a transitional apartment program in Kansas City and working on how to live and work independently. My youth works part time and is wanting to apply for new jobs specifically ones that involve the ability to work from home and in order to work from home she must have a decent computer. Given my youth's limited financial means we are asking for community support to help with obtaining a laptop my youth can use to apply for jobs, complete work from home, and eventually use for college schoolwork. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

We are in need to re-stock multiple items in our food pantry, and are seeking your support with items needed for families. DCCCA families who are currently houseless, are in dear need for the following items: Protein items, such as 10 packets of chicken nuggets, 6 packages of tights/drum sticks, 8 small packages of ground beef, 10 packages of hot dogs, 5 bags of apples, 5 bags of mandarin oranges, 5 boxes of ramen, 5 bags of frozen veggies, and 4 boxes of hot packets. Other items needed are baby wipes, and mac & cheese. All of these items are essential for those struggling with food insecurities, your help will make a huge impact among the families we will distribute these to. Two small children that have been in custody for a couple of months are disrupting from their foster placement this weekend and KVC has last minute been able to approve a relative placement. The home is in need of one 5 point harness car seat and two mattresses and bed frames(two twins or one twin and one toddler). These children will move likely on Sunday or Monday and while the relative can borrow the car seat for a week or so to go with the one they already have they will be giving up their bed for the kids to sleep in until we are able to locate beds for the children. Any assistance is appreciated, and the placement has a truck and is willing to pickup the beds from anywhere in the KC metro area on Sunday or Monday.

Sleepyhead Beds downtown has graciously offered a twin mattress and toddler mattress for the relative placement and another donor has provided a twin bed frame. The home now only needs a toddler bed frame and one five point harness car seat for a toddler.

The client was joyfully celebrating her nephew's birthday who passed away, surrounded by family and friends when the unimaginable happened, gunfire erupted, and she was struck in her left leg. What should have been a day of love and celebration turned into a life-altering tragedy. Due to the severity of her injuries, she has been unable to return to her job at FedEx, leaving her unable to keep up with rent payments. She is now at risk of losing her home. More than anything, she is fighting to provide a safe and stable environment for her one-year-old son—a child who deserves comfort, safety, and a sense of normalcy in these difficult times. her rent is $800. she has $400 of that and is needing another $400.

Combined family received a shut off notice for their electric service. Family has reached out for assistance but needs a bit of immediate help so they don't lose their refrigerated supplies and AC. Family is working and should be good for the future once this bill is taken care of

Mom has just got her daughter back in the home after being placed with dad for a while. The family has been through a lot of trauma. Mom is struggling to maintain food and utilities in the home. She is needing help with getting food and paying her utility bill.

This will help to alleviate concerns of feeding and nourishing the child. Making sure she can have access to food every day.

Children's Division is seeking assistance in supplying a kinship placement provider with the necessary items needed to raise a new baby until the goal of reunification can be obtained. The provider has children who are grown adults; therefore, it has been years since she has needed things like diapers, wipes or burp cloths.

The provider is in need of a baby monitor to ease her concerns while the child sleeps at night, and to ensure he is healthy throughout the night. The provider is also looking for the basic essentials such as size 1 diapers, wipes, blankets, burp cloths, and a sling that could be worn to carry the child on her chest. Children's Division has supplied this kinship provider with a new bassinet, a play mat, diapers, formula, and other essentials, but as anyone might understand that babies grow QUICKLY and the baby has already sized out of the newborn diapers he was wearing. Children's Division is seeking for supplies from our own office to make this possible but also would like to reach out to Care Portal to see if anyone can help in supplying other essential items. I would like to advocate for a young mother who has recently escaped a domestic violence situation. It is crucial that she receives soy-based formula for her baby, as other formulas provided by Children’s Division could cause adverse reactions, including rashes. This mother is facing significant challenges in supporting herself and her child, and we are actively working to secure her a place in a domestic violence shelter. Your understanding and support in providing the necessary formula would make a meaningful difference in their lives during this difficult time.

There is a single Mom who has a medically complex child with feeding difficulties. The Mom is currently looking for a job but at this time she is using her food stamps to provide food for herself and two kids. The hospital is recommending Mom make the child high protein smoothies at home in order to help the child gain weight but Mom said she truly cannot afford a blender at this time. This blender on amazon is $36 if a church is willing to help purchase Mom a blender then it could benefit the child getting additional nutrition which would be very beneficial!
