A single foster to adopt mother of two plus an adopted child in the home, has been having to take time off work (unpaid) in order to get one of the foster children psychiatric help. Due to the loss of income and due to the extra expenses of having to travel to the facility weekly where the child is inpatient for family therapy, the foster mother is struggling with meeting all her monthly financial obligations. The foster mother is committed to engaging in all that is required in order to get the foster child the help needed. This permanency worker is advocating for grocery assistance to help lessen the financial burden on the family. Any assistance in meeting this need will be greatly appreciated by the family and DHS.

Hi there! I have a non-paid kinship placement that is in need of some financial assistance. They have fallen behind on some bills and would greatly benefit from any help that you may be able to provide. Again, this is a non-paid kinship placement and they have been such a blessing to the girls placed in their care. Any help you may be able to provide would immensely appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for your time and consideration!
This need is for a mother and child who have recently reunified. The mother frequently rides her bike or takes the bus. This one child bike trailer/stroller would allow her child to not have to walk so far to catch the bus and enable her to take the bike when necessary. The one that I found to be the best bargain is at Walmart and is the Allen Sports Deluxe 2-Child Bicycle Trailer & Stroller. It does not need to be this specific brand and can be donated one that is donated rather than purchased new.
We have a family, whose children have been put into a kinship placement. Two of the children are school age and to be able to get them from their kinship home to school, which is about a 45 minute drive each way, they need monetary assistance in the form of gas cards.
Please help strengthen this single mother of two. Mom has separated from the father of her children, and is gaining her independence. She does not have a driver's license, and is in need of driver's education. Please bless this single mother by paying for driver's ed course. Blessings.
Hello there. I have a family who is in need of some assistance paying their water bill. Two weeks ago, one of their children (he is 2 years old with a birthday coming up in April) came down with a very bad case of RSV. He had to be hospitalized for 3 nights. As he began to recover, the rest of the household became ill. As a result, the family has faced some unforeseen financial hardships (caregivers missing work, multiple doctor's visits, paying for medications, etc.). This family would really appreciate any kind of help you may be able to provide at this time. Thank you so much in advance for your time and consideration!
Hello there. I have a family who is needing assistance with some bills. They have had some unforeseen financial challenges over the past month and could really use some help. The family is currently in trial reunification and they have been working very diligently to become a happy, healthy, successful family unit again. Any assistance you may be able to provide would be immensely appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
A local group home would love to make a day trip for a teen very special. An outing in February is planned for this teen and the GH staff would love to make this a day just for him. They plan to attend an event he is very interested in; the Monster Truck Jam. They also plan to go out to eat, buy souvenirs, and just make the day very special for him. This young man has been in this home for a number of years and he has formed many friendships. Some of his group home peers have moved on however, and they're move has put a damper on his spirits. The staff at the GH would really love to make the day very special and just for him.

The children are in need of Toys for ages 1-10 yo and pull ups size 3-4. Thank you for all that you do!
Hello, I have a family that is starting reunification with their children. It is two parents and three teenagers. The mother is paralyzed and in need of new bedding, and currently only has an old hospital blanket to lay under. The mother stated they did not have sheets and blankets for the beds in the home. The children are also in need of new bedding. This family is trying hard to get back to their normal and I wanted to try and help with a little of the stress by allowing them to be able to sleep on new sheets and blankets. Thank you in advance for any help out there, and always know OKDHS really appreciates all the help we receive for our families.

The natural mother does not have her own means of transportation and would be greatly benefited by having a bus passes to attend visitation and services.

Family in process of moving into a home and start of reunification. Single employed mother of 3 under the age of 10 is in need of 1 twin size bed, 2 twin size mattress's, 1 full size mattress. Mother had to leave most of her belongings at previous home when she left. Mom has worked diligently in obtaining consistent employment, and successfully correcting the conditions that led to the removal of children.
Mother of two boys has been working hard to correct conditions that led to DHS involvement and have her children placed back in her home. She has been attending and fully engaged in services to address the concerns of domestic violence and the two children are now in Trial Reunification with her. During her previous domestic violence relationship, she was not allowed to obtain a Driver's License, car or a job despite her desire to do so. The mother is now able to demonstrate to DHS her understanding of how domestic violence effects her independence, parenting abilities and the behaviors of her children. Mom has been successful in gaining employment and obtaining a residence for her and her children away from the batterer. She is now in need of a Driver's License enabling her to legally transport herself and her children from place to place, however due to limited income and housing costs, she is unable to take the driver's exam. A service in Owasso, OK provides the class, test and exam all in one day at a cost of $150. Once she obtains her license, she will be able to enroll the children in daycare allowing her to work more hours for an increase in income for the betterment of the family.
Help this family reach their blessing. A foster mother was fortunate enough to find a home with enough space for herself, her teenaged son, and two foster children to live comfortably. This mother also has medical equipment she has in the home that she needed to increase the home’s space for. While the mother does receive Section 8 and her voucher will cover her monthly rent expense, her voucher doesn’t cover the required $1300 deposit for the apartment. Though this mother works full-time, she receives limited welfare assistance so she’s not able to afford a $1300 deposit by herself. Any assistance that could be offered to this family would greatly and immediately benefit the family.
A mother and 4 children are needing assistance with furnishings for their new home. After escaping a domestic violence situation, they have nothing left. The mother has worked tirelessly to achieve her goals, including obtaining employment and obtaining housing. But, now they are in need of furnishings. By providing furnishings, this will help the family feel safe in secure in their new home.
