I have a young lady who is from Guatemala and is the victim of trafficking and currently in DHS custody. She was removed from her home and we have been unable to retrieve any of her personal belongings. She will be starting school and is in a foster home and has been provided with basic necessities but still needs some extra things- a winter coat, hygiene products, extra shoes and more winter clothing. She would also benefit from being able to purchase her own accessories, make up and other items important to fitting in as a teen at school. She is struggling to understand why she is in our care and fearful for her future and giving her the ability to make choices in some of her personal items and having the freedom to purchase things without asking the foster parents would mean a lot to her.

A single mom with three young children is in need of little toys such as Hot Wheels, toy balls, bath toys, craft activities, sensory toys, and balloons for her children. This mother has recently started therapy with her four year old son who has been grieving the loss of his father. The mother and son are making great progress so she would be appreciative of any help to fund the "treasure box" reward system she started for the kids at home. This single mom is working hard on healthy communication with her children and this treasure box helps reinforce positive behavior with the children. Any monetary donation or donation of these items would be greatly appreciated by the mother so she is able to continue to work with her children at therapy and reward them for all they've done.

I have a female youth who has been residing with a kin like provider for the last year. The kin like provider, his four children, and female youth have been evicted from their apartment. The kin like provider and four children are currently residing in a hotel while the female youth is living with a friend. The kin like does not qualify for any assistance and have been struggling financially to consistently provide for a six people household.
The hotel they are residing in cost approximately $560 weekly, which is $80 daily. A $80 donation could maintain a room for the day. Any donation to preserve the hotel until a solution is determined is appreciated.

This family is in need of some support for their housing. There is a single caregiver and a youth in the home. The youth recently started school and is doing very well. The caregiver recently started a new job which allows them to be more available and take better care of their child. The caregiver has been able to stay on top of their mortgage, but this past month had some major setbacks. The family vehicle needed some major repairs, preventing the caregiver from working their full hours. The caregiver has put money into the vehicle and has been able to return to work, after some expensive repairs and lost wages.
The caregiver recognizes that this is a large amount to ask for help with, and any amount would be greatly appreciated. This money would help them get caught up and not fall behind with their basic needs. This caregiver is very resourceful and resilient.

The male child 10 years had borrowed a bike that belonged to the group home he had been at, but could not take it with him since it belonged to the group home. The child had never had his own bike and was sad that he could not keep it.
Walmart has a Huffy 26-inch Rock Creek Men's bike mountain bike, blue that he could ride since he has gotten taller since he was placed in a new foster home.
The child would have lots of fun outdoors on his very own bike.
