Seeking assistance to support a trial home placement of a 5 yo non-verbal autistic child. Services are limited in the area for the child & his developmental needs (non-verbal autistic) has added an extra layer of stress to the family. For the last 8 months, the parents have been traveling for services & visitation each week. The mother is stay-at-home as the child cannot be placed in daycare. She is wanting to get out in the community with the child; however, the financial strain they endured over months has made it difficult. We are seeking a variety of items to support the family. Once custody of the child returns to the parents, they will be able to access additional support like SNAP; however, they cannot do so while the child is on a trial home placement. Items needed include: baby wipes (child is not toilet trained), cleaning supplies (disinfectant, paper towels, Swiffer wet clothes, trash bags, dish detergent), toilet paper, paper plates, gas cards, sponsorship for pool pass for 2 (child and mother), and a kid's sensory body sock (he wears a child's size 10). Regarding cleaning supplies, the child often throws items around, pours things on the floor, etc., creating a significant amount of cleaning for the family. They could also use laundromat funds as their apartment does not have laundry facilities, including laundry detergent.

This family is the product of a broken marriage and subsequent move of the mother and daughter in with the elderly grandmother. This family's cell phone bill is past due. Service not only includes the cell phone for the child but also her only internet access from home which she uses to complete school work.

Single mom is having a hard time meeting her needs. She has a 14 year old child, and another child who recently and suddenly passed away. She is under extreme stress and is in currently in school. To add to the stress, her home refrigerator broke and all of her food expired. Her landlord is working to fix the refrigerator, but she is in need of food in the meantime. Mom is aware of your services through her church. Mom also states she is in need of an AC unit. Can you please assist with urgent needs?

D, a 5yo non-verbal autistic child, recently started a trial home placement with his parents. Both parents have worked to meet service plan goals and the placement has been determined to be safe. Unfortunately, resources for children with developmental needs are limited in the area as well as child care options. For the parents to continue to meet their service plan goals, they must participate in mental health services. The father works outside of the home and the mother is a stay-at-home parent. To support this trial home placement and its long-term stability, the Department is looking for assistance with the following:

1. Someone to provide childcare for 1-1.5 hours every week or every other week to D. while his mother participates in counseling services (Volunteer would need to complete background checks w/ the Department). While the weather is nice, this could be provided at a park or similar. This is needed now through August when school starts.
2. Any suggestions on resources for a child with this level of needs. He has Medicaid and is open to FAPT and CSA funding. For ABA therapy, Compass has an up-to 1-year waitlist. He has an IEP with the schools and will be assessed for VIA; however, there are no summertime options identified at this time to provide respite to the mother &/or behavioral support. So suggestions for any in-home providers for ABA or other intensive therapies, any camps or supportive day services, behavioral supports, etc., would be appreciated.

A family of 3 children and 5 adults are living without power and unable to afford their past bill to reestablish services. Due to not having electricity, the family is unable to access their well water leaving them without a way to bathe, use the bathroom, and prepare food.

This single mother of two children ages 8 and 2 needs help with car repairs. The family of three lives in income-based apartments and Mom is unable to work due to not having childcare. Mom shared that she has had to cancel several out-of-town medical appointments for herself and her 8-year-old son due to her car malfunctions. Mom shared that sometimes her car won't go over 30mph and the rpms don't work correctly. One of the sons does have Mental Health and Gastro appointments which requires frequent back and forth to appointments. Mom is also working with the school to get her son the help that he needs which also requires a need for transportation to and from the school for meetings. Mom shared that she has tried to take her car to the shop to see what is wrong, but the dealer wanted $300 for a diagnostic fee. We are requesting help with the diagnostic fee and then help with whatever is wrong with it. Receiving this help would allow mom to take care of her health and her children's health and everyday needs. The $300 request is for the Diagnostic fee; we will not know the amount for the repair request until it is diagnosed.

This request is for a single mom with two children aged 7 and 19. She is stable in recovery since May 17, 2021 and has been steadily rebuilding her life since then. She has held a full-time job since September 2022 and is finally moving into her own 3-bedroom apartment with her two children. This is a big milestone for her as she has been dependent on family for a long time. washer/dryer hook up and water is included in the rent, but the cost of the equipment is outside of her reach. The washer and dryer need to be stackable. Please consider helping out this amazing mother who has come so far for herself and her children.

The family is in need of payment for their electric bill. If not paid, the electric will be cut off. Mom works but does not have the money to make this payment of $271.83. Assistance for this family is requested as she has 4 elementary school children, no car, single parent. (This request was picked up by a church in another county and we've not heard back from them, so we are re-opening the request! The full amount is still needed).
