Dear Careportal Family, I hope this message finds you well. I want to share a heartfelt story about a remarkable family from our Southeast Middle and High School Campus. Recently, a parent reached out to us after bravely leaving an abusive relationship, taking only the essentials they could carry. This family is at a turning point with the mother securing approval for an apartment, but they are currently staying with a friend and face the challenge of moving in without many belongings. Once they settle into their new home, they will have to make do with sleeping on the floor. We are reaching out to seek your support in providing some necessities for this family as they begin to rebuild their lives. Your kindness can offer them not only the essentials they need but also a sense of peace and a glimpse of a positive environment during this difficult time.

We are looking for a compassionate, bilingual volunteer to help support a single mother of two young children here in the Boise area. This mom is in need of critical resources and support to care for her family, but a language barrier is making it difficult for our team to connect her with the proper support.

We are seeking someone who is interested in volunteering as a Family Coach with Safe Families for Children to assist with translation and serve as a bridge between this mom and the support network she needs. This includes assisting our Safe Families team in completing an intake to discover how we can support her family's immediate needs and connect her to long-term support to keep her family together.

The volunteer will be connected with our Safe Families for Children team and trained to serve as a Family Coach — someone who walks alongside families, offering relationship, encouragement, and assist families in meeting their goals.

Mother was granted unsupervised with her child. She needs a car seat for the child so they can safely travel in a car together:

We are seeking urgent support for a family with two children at risk of losing stable housing. The family is currently facing eviction, with a balance of $3,587 due. If the balance is paid before the court date, they will be allowed to remain in their home. The mother is actively working side jobs and may be able to contribute a portion of the amount.

This support request is focused on preserving housing stability for the children, ensuring they are not displaced and can remain in a safe, familiar environment. Assistance toward this housing need would directly prevent trauma and disruption in their lives.

Please consider helping keep this family together and housed.

Again, we are out of beds with the other recent arrivals and the funds that were normally given to the refugee resettlement agencies being stopped. For these two families again, we need beds (always) and another coffee table.

Glocal has already provided through community donations other furniture that they needed along with household goods. always feel free to inquire more about our programs .

Although it may seem unlikely, we are still seeing families arrive through the refugee process. They come with basically nothing and through Glocal, we provide them new and gently used items donated through the community to help them get started in their first home in the Treasure Valley. We have one large Afghan family of 9 that we have in temporary housing and will move into two apartments in the near future. We are short beds and tables for several families. this request is for the larger family that arrived a few weeks ago. To keep things less costly, they will need to put several children in one room and bunk beds will help. they also could use some coffee tables and end tables. Glocal has been able to provide them with their other needs through earlier donations.

Please if you can help with a gently used bed (clean mattress/box spring) or a table, please reach out!

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.
