A dedicated single mother in the final five weeks of RCC’s nursing program is seeking assistance with summer clothing for her two children. As she prepares for the upcoming expense of licensing fees required to begin her nursing career, she is currently unable to afford these essential items.

Her 14-year-old son wears a men’s medium in shirts and size 14 in pants. Her 10-year-old daughter wears size 10/12 tops and 11/12 pants, she is tall for her age.

I am working with a young 19-year old NMD mother of an adorable and smart 2 year-old little boy. She is a good mother who ensures her son has all of this needs met. She is trying to better herself and her education in order to obtain a job/career for the future of her family. Initially, she saved up and enrolled in Phlebotomy school in Riverside, she completed 4 of 12 classes, but had to stop for a time because of childcare issues. She has since worked on securing childcare and wants to re-start, but now does not have all of the funds needed to complete her program, although she has saved some. She is on a limited income of $500 a month so saving anything significant has been a challenge for her. She is asking for assistance of approx $500 to be paid to the school. The referred family is requesting assistance of $150 for child’s glasses. The child has behavioral outbursts in which the resource parent has reported that child often breaks his glasses when upset. Resource parent reported that Medi-cal only covers one pair of glasses per year and she has had to purchase extra pairs for the child when he breaks his glasses. child has severe vision impairment and has been diagnosed with primary seizure disorder, Congenital nystagmus with sensory abnormality, Refractive amblyopia, and bilateral, congenital cataract of both eyes and Pseudophakia of both eyes, developmental delay, and regular astigmatism of both eyes. Resource parents are requesting financial assistance for reimbursement of 150$ spent on another pair of glasses for the child. This assistance will also help support child with remaining in current placement, as he presents with behavioral challenges, which is difficult for the resource parent at times, because child continues to break his glasses when engaging in a behavioral outburst. Child cannot see correctly without glasses for vision support. The family would be appreciative of any help and want to explore all options to make the child as comfortable as possible at home

Child has grown up in and out of foster care. Child was raised without knowing who his father was. In 2023 Mother named a man, after DNA results, in Dec 2023- the child found out who his biological father was. Much to father's surprise, as he was informed he could not have children. Father quickly began visiting and getting to know his son. Over a year has passed since they have first met and things have dramatically changed for father and son. They attend family therapy together and are building their relationship. Father was displaced after breaking up with his girlfriend who was not welcoming to the child, after the breakup father was set to move to a home in Pasadena in Jan 2025. Sadly, the home they were supposed to move into- was burned down by the Eaton Fire. Father found housing in Glendora. Father is in need of a couch, dining table and even a TV. Child loves to play video games and uses video games to escape and get his mind off of things such as the emotional toll that visits with his mother and siblings. Father has worked so hard to be able to find a stable place that court can release the child to, and despite his initial home that burned down; he did not give up and did not let that bring him down.

A counselor at a local high school shared a need for a local family. The family was displaced, and did seek a motel voucher from the district. Thankfully they're back in an apartment, but the mom shared they're in need of a stove.The oldest a senior at the high school and there are two younger brothers. The family is requesting help in getting a gas stove.

I have a student in my school that is going through a hard time. His family will be experiencing housing uncertainty at the end of the month. My student's main concern is not having enough food to eat or any clothes to wear. The single mom is doing the best she can to work and provide for her two children but has fallen on hard times recently. My student comes to school emotional and worried. Filling this request would enhance well being for my student, his little brother and their mom.

I am asking for a grocery card for the family. A pair of shoes and some underwear, plain shirts and pants for the each boy. Also some clothing items for mom if possible.

The case came to DCFS attention due to boyfriend’s brother sexually abusing one of the kids. Mother and children were court ordered to move to grandmother’s home in Anaheim. This caused a lot of distress for mom since the home was not suited for a family of 4 and the 4 of them slept on the couch and floor. The mother and grandmother's relationship is not good, so mother's partner was able to get a place in San Bernardino for them. The family currently has been on a tight budget for rent and food, due to using monies to relocate. Also certain services have not transferred from LA County to San Bernardino County. The DPSS case is still not fully transferred over to SB county yet so mother has no income of food support yet. The mother wants to work but she reports her current mental state and anxiety is not stable enough. Financially the family is struggling, and the social worker has exhausted all resources and has been denied since the children are home with their parent. Grocery assistance is needed due for the family. Daily the mother looks for deals of the day to feed the family. They are also in need of a gas card to assist them due to 1 child's therapy services still being in Fullerton. Mother also has to drug test as well, and the closest testing site is in Pomona. DCFS has requested case to be transferred to be SB County so family can receive proper services, but Court keeps extending court date.

Single mother who is living in a motel is in need of a pack and play for nine month old baby. This will provide a safe place for baby to sleep and play when needed. Mother is out of work and needs assistance with this item to show the social worker mother can keep the child safe. Thank you.

The student and family is currently homeless. The family will be moving into an apartment in a day or 2. The family is in need of (4)dressers, (1)toddler bed, couch, coffee table, dining table, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, and blender.

I am reaching out on behalf of a single mother with six children who is currently in need of support. The family was recently displaced from a room they had been renting and, thankfully, has now secured their own apartment. However, they are in need of essential household items to help make their new space livable and comfortable. Some of the immediate needs include: Microwave, Dining table, Pots and pans, Plates and utensils, Towels and blankets. A dedicated student who will be graduating this June from Riverside City College with her RN certification is a single mother who has shown remarkable commitment in managing her academic responsibilities, parenting, and limited work hours. Due to the intensity of the RN program, she is currently working reduced hours, making it challenging to cover the costs associated with the licensure process. Assistance with the following expenses will enable her to obtain her nursing license and begin employment as a registered nurse, with starting wages around $40 per hour. This will greatly enhance her ability to independently support herself and her son.

This is a resilient family of five who have faced significant housing instability throughout this school year. They have been forced to move four times, often living in doubled-up situations and renting single rooms from strangers. Despite these challenges, through determination and hard work, they have finally secured a home of their own. As they begin this new chapter, the family is in urgent need of several household items to help them settle in safely and comfortably. Their most immediate need is a baby gate to keep their twin toddlers safe. Additional items that would greatly help include a blender, a dining set, and plastic reusable drinking glasses.
