Help Strengthen a Bio Family
The mother of the family is needing phone card due to hers no longer working. This would allow for the mother of the children to be able to communicate with her providers, attorney and caseworker to ensure that she is following her court ordered treatment plan. It has been difficult for the mother of the children to report when she is going to miss her appointments or other treatment without having a phone. Thank you!

Help Reunify a Bio Family
Parents have found an income based housing that does have an opening for them to move into. Parents have discussed being able to afford the ongoing rent moving forward but are asking for any assistance possible so they can cover the deposit and buying furniture for their new apartment. Parents are currently homeless, and staying with friends. By getting into a stable residence, they could have a safe and stable living environment and have their son returned to their care.

Help Reunify a Bio Family
This request is to help a mother who is requesting assistance with her rent as she is staying at Oxford homes. This will allow for stability for her so that she may get to work, and establish income to move out on her own.
In an effort to submit rent requests with a better success rate of fulfillment, we have capped the amount requested to $500. The rent or mortgage amount is in total $700 (to include the $500). Whether you are able to fulfill the capped or full amount, we greatly appreciate any support you may offer!

Help Preserve a Foster Care Placement
A dedicated and newly certified foster mom has just welcomed her very first placement into her home. One of the youth’s wishes is a membership to the YMCA, where they can engage in pro-social activities, build healthy habits, and find a safe, supportive community. We’re seeking a generous donor to help cover the cost of this YMCA membership. Your support will directly empower a young person to participate in positive and life-enriching experiences! Thank you!

Ms. Bell has been working with a truck repair shop to get her only mode of transportation fixed so she can carry out the tasks in her treatment plan. She wants to maintain compliance with substance use treatment and live a drug free lifestyle. The truck repairs total $2000. Mom is able to pay $500 and DHS will assist with $600.00. The truck repair shop has agreed to take a loss of $417.65. That leaves another $900.00 to be requested.

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing
We are currently supporting two incredible teens, F (from Guatemala, age 17) and B (from Honduras, age 16), who have recently moved into a new foster home. As they begin adjusting to their new environment, they’ve expressed a desire to make their shared space feel more like home.
We are kindly requesting:
2 sets of LED or decorative bedroom lights to brighten and personalize their room
2 Intake breathing therapy devices (over-the-counter style) to support their well-being
Your support would go a long way in helping these young men feel safe, comfortable, and welcomed in their new home. Thank you so much for considering this request and for being part of their journey toward healing and stability.

The mother of the child lives in a very rural area of the San Luis valley, and this keeps her from participating in meetings, and advocating for her child. She needs a cell phone she can use to talk to her lawyer and the DHS team. If she gets a new phone she will be able to attend meetings, advocate for her child, and schedule visits with her son.

Help Preserve a Foster Care Placement
Description of Need: A teenage boy in foster care, who has been out of his home for 6 years and 8 months, is seeking support from the community to help meet two specific personal goals: obtaining an adult-sized bicycle, safety equipment, and enrolling in beginner guitar lessons. Who Needs Help: This request is for one teenage male in foster care. What Do They Need: An adult-sized bicycle for local transportation and increased independence. A set of beginner guitar lessons (virtual or in-person) to help him learn to play and build confidence through music. Why This Matters: The youth has expressed a strong interest in music and a desire to be more independent in his daily life. The bicycle would allow him to safely get to school, appointments, and extracurricular activities. The guitar lessons would give him a creative outlet and provide a sense of accomplishment and joy during a pivotal time in his personal development. Impact of Meeting the Need: Meeting this need will help the youth build confidence, reduce isolation, and promote healthy outlets for emotional expression. It supports his healing journey and personal growth while showing him that his community values and believes in his future.
