This family recently became involved with the Department and kiddo was placed with kinship. Kinship providers have been wonderful with meeting with the Department, engaging with services, meetings, and everything requested by the Department. Kinship providers recently stated that they had some unfortunate news with one adult recently being diagnosed with cancer. As the family remains positive and determined to beat the cancer, they are asking for some additional help this month with groceries. With the doctor's appointments, work, and the Department's requirements the family is overextended. I am requesting three, $50 gift cards to help with their expenses. The client has recent escaped a long-term domestic violence relationship. She has recently reunited with her family and is trying to regain stability. She has custody of her youngest two children, one is living with a relative in an undesirable circumstance and her oldest was lost to DCF system. She is currently saving to move back on her own and provide basic necessities such as food, clothes, and personal care products. She has transportation and is working on getting employment and childcare within the program. The family is ratioing food and resources to stay afloat but could benefit from baby supplies, personal hygiene and care products, food, and move fees to secure housing.

This family has been working with the Department for a little over a year now. Recent exciting changes have happened, including moving towards adoption! With this exciting news the family was getting all medical, dental, and vision appointments taken care of. It was discovered that the 6year old is needing extensive dental work including 7 fillings, 1 crown, and 4 extractions. child will need to be put under anesthesia for this procedure. Medicaid has covered most costs other than the final $150. The family has stretched their savings as much as they can but are hoping to have some assistance for the dentist appointment. We have a foster family of 7 with a baby due on May 3rd who is in need of help deep cleaning their home. They have a house full of teenage boys who do a good job on chores BUT they are teenage boys after all... These parents would love if an individual or group would be interested in doing a super deep clean so they can have a healthy, clean home for their baby's arrival. The weekend of April 26-27th would be ideal.

We want to take a moment to celebrate the growth of Sherry, Cameron, Kaya, and Kennedy over the past 8 months, made possible by your generous support. Cameron was juggling two part-time jobs and feeling uncertain about his future. He secured a full-time job at an extermination company and gained confidence and developed new skills. Kaya was a college freshman working at a sandwich shop. Since then, she started a new job at the YMCA in after-school childcare that has brought her joy in student teaching and she bought a car. Kennedy was a high school junior working at a sandwich shop; she has enjoyed school events like homecoming and winter formal. Staying in their home this last year allowed her to complete her childhood there and graduate high school. Sherry was facing financial stress, managing transportation for the kids with only one car. Over the last several months, she took a temporary job but as of recent she now offers in home care to another senior for a few days a week. Most importantly, thanks to you, she has had the time to guide and prepare her grandkids for their next big step in life. Their next big step has arrived, their home of 13 years is being sold, and they must move out by June 31st. Summit, one of the daughter's of a Summit member has had a very difficult few months. She has been sick for several months, and she moved into a rental duplex that has issues with efficiency. With the last freeze, it was difficult to keep the duplex warm without running the heat continuously. She is trying to get caught up, but she has a balance due on Monday of $537 (we received this last week, so it is my fault I'm just now sending this out), and her rent is due on the 1st (which she will pay).
