Urgent Request: Help a Homeless Mother and Son Recover Their Towed Vehicle

A single mother and her young son, currently experiencing homelessness, have been living between a local shelter and their car. Tragically, their car was recently towed, resulting not only in the loss of their only means of transportation but also many of their personal belongings, including clothing, hygiene items, and important documents.

This situation has left them devastated and without the few resources they relied on for stability and daily life. The mother is working hard to regain footing for herself and her child, and recovering the vehicle is a crucial step toward rebuilding their stability and independence.

We are urgently seeking support to cover the cost of the vehicle release, which includes towing and storage fees. Your generosity could make an immediate and life-changing impact for this family.

A mom has recently, courageously, left an abusive marriage with her 10 year old son. She has secured employment and has found a small apartment to start over. Mom and her son had to leave everything behind so are starting over to furnish their new home. She already has beds and a dresser, and someone has helped provide needed items for her bathroom.

This family still needs a couch, small kitchen table with 2 chairs, broom with dustpan, Swiffer wet mop, small vacuum for laminate flooring, pizza cutter and other kitchen utensils, dish drainer, spices, a coffee table and small bookshelf.

Mom is walking with a friend and Pathway member back to a healthy environment for her and her son.

Father is trying to secure employment to better his families living conditions. Needs clothing for job interview.

Family of five, three are children, lost their home in the Eaton Canyon Fire. They are still living in a hotel. They have needed to change hotels 4 times since the fires. The week after the fire, the mother had to be rushed to the hospital where they discovered a blood clot in her leg and lung.

With all of these challenges, the father has been trying to keep them afloat from his job, but it is all costing them more out of pocket than they anticipate, especially with the additional hospital stay.

They are requesting financial assistance to help them be able to buy groceries and other essential needs while they are still in the hotel.

This request is for a $50 visa gift card for a family living at a homeless shelter for help with transportation. The mother and child use an out of county bus to get around so the county bus pass does not work. This gift card will help the mother take the child to therapy and get to appointments out of the county. Any help for this family is greatly appreciated.

The family in need of assistance includes a legal guardian who is caring for 2 children, a boy in middle school and a girl in elementary school. She took in the children and was financially responsible for them for several years before receiving any assistance. They are on a tight fixed income as the guardian is retired, but she has recently returned to work to try to keep up with the family's bills. The children's dressers are all broken/in disrepair. The faces of the drawers are missing, some don't pull out, etc. Therefore, they are not able to utilize the full storage capacity. Some clothing has to be stored in garbage bags in the room. The legal guardian is hoping to find some new or gently used dressers to replace the ones currently in the children's bedroom. The hope is that this will help alleviate some of the clutter due to the better storage. The children would benefit from the organization in their bedroom. Tall dressers would be preferable due to the space. The guardian asked if it was possible to get 4 new dressers (2 to put into the closet and 2 to be in the main bedroom space) but would appreciate anything she can get that is in working order. She doesn't have the money to purchase new ones and has been unsuccessful in finding any other donated ones. Thank you for your consideration to help this family!

A mother with four children who was homeless for over a year found housing and is in need of two bunk beds, mattresses, and four bedding sets. The mother and children are very happy to have stability after being homeless for so long. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Due to illness, the child's mother was unable to work and fell behind on her rent. She needs $400 to complete her rent for this month.

We have a father in need of furniture to furnish his new apartment he just moved into. By assisting him with furniture we are providing / improving well being for him and his family.

Recently, this mother made the courageous decision to leave a long-term, mentally abusive marriage to seek a better environment and home for her 11-year-old son and herself. She has also started taking college classes to get her degree to provide future support. She is participating in Pathway's DivorceCare where she is building supportive relationships as she starts this new journey with her son. She is moving into her own apartment and is needing some essential items. Their favorite color is any color of blue. Her son is also a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Her bedroom set is the queen size and his is the full size.
