Story
My client is a single mother urgently seeking employment after having to leave her job due to a lack of childcare. Her brother, who previously cared for her 8-year-old daughter, moved out of state. With no family support and work hours that extended past daycare and aftercare availability, she was forced to resign to care for her child.
She came to CareerSource Palm Beach County for job training and assistance, determined to improve her situation. However, she is struggling to find work that aligns with childcare hours, and without income, she cannot afford basic living expenses.
She is now at risk of eviction, owing $2,100 in rent due April 1, and fears becoming homeless with her daughter. Immediate needs include shoes and clothing for both of them, feminine hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and bedding.
No other agencies have been able to help. Providing short-term support will allow her to stabilize her home and focus on job training and employment that will lead to long-term financial stability.
Requested Items: Child (Age 8): Shoes (Size 2), Socks (Size 11–2), T-Shirts (7/8) Mother: Shoes (Size 4½–6), Socks (Small), T-Shirts (Small) Other Needs: Cleaning supplies, hygiene products, bedding
