A 12 year old sixth grade boy is currently at a kindergarten level academically due to never starting school until this year, full time. He needs lots of tutoring, but that comes with many expenses. The bill for tutoring this month is $1125. Any donated contribution to that bill would be helpful for this child, his 1 year old brother, and his grandparents who he lives with.

Children: 200 Adults: Up to 50 Hello Community Supporters! We are holding our annual Kinship/Foster Parent Appreciation Celebration in June 2025! Kinship families are unique in that they take placement of children on an emergency basis who they have a prior relationship with in order to prevent children from being placed in the foster-care system. Placing children with family or friends often reduces the trauma children go through when separated from parents and it strengthens the natural familial and community supports they already have in place. Families do this with little to no ongoing financial support, yet they make it work everyday for these precious children. Foster families are such a need in this community and they open their homes to children with no where else to go. These families selflessly get licensed knowing the need in our community. They have to complete a rigorous process to open their home and cooperate with several agencies and the court system as well as be an advocate for the foster child in their home.The Kinship/Foster Care Unit is hoping to be able to provide gift cards through a raffle to each family at the event in the amount of $50 for grocery stores, Walmart or Target, or other locations in town where items for the family can be purchased. Another option is to provide specific items to raffle off to the families such as fun activities for the children or gift baskets, be creative!

Maternal grandparents (MGPs) now retired, have gained full custody of their four grandchildren. They have a busy schedule with the children ensuring regional center appointments are met and accessing ongoing support services.

Two of the children currently share a small-frame bunk bed, which they are quickly outgrowing. Due to the limited height of the current bed, it is no longer suitable for their comfort or development. The Grandparents are requesting new bunk beds, that can be separated into twin beds as the children continue to grow. They are also in need of twin mattresses to accompany the new beds.

This loving grandmother is caring for her autistic grandchild, who has sensitivities to certain fabrics and requires special clothing and cloth diapers to ensure comfort. Although the child is not potty trained yet, the family remains joyful and supportive, embracing the unique needs of their little one. She is seeking financial assistance to help cover the cost of these essential items so her grandchild can remain safe and comfortable under her care. Any resources or help that could assist with these needs would be greatly appreciated.

The kin placement of a 8 month old girl is in need of assistance with food. The money allocated for food on the EBT card was stolen as well as cash assistance the family receives. They have reached out to their benefits worker and they are not able to give back the money for food and have to process the case assistance to refund it. They are going to go to food pantries but the other child and the baby in the home will not eat food that is provided by them. The aunts do not have extra income to cover the loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A mother in San Francisco has recently begun her trial reunification with her three boys. She has worked really hard to get her boys back, but has very low income. Our hope is that with some tangible support, to ease some of the financial burdens, this reunification will be successful and they can begin to move forward from their time apart.

All three boys love the colors red, white, and black. Gently used items in good condition are welcomed.

A family recently arrived from Africa fleeing their war-torn community. Dad, mom (who was pregnant with twins), and 3 children (ages 11, 9 and 6) travelled 2,500 miles, a good portion of it on foot, praying that they would be able to stay together and would be safe. The family was given refugee status and brought to America. They are in an apartment and do not know the language yet. Dad and mom are trying to set up a new home with their 5 children and have received assistance from His Helping Hands for furniture.

A Pathway member has met some of their other needs as she walks with them and one of their twins who has special needs.

Their current, most immediate needs are for a double stroller for the twins and preemie diapers. Thank you for supporting this family.

A single mom with 5 children (age ranges of 2 to 13) is struggling and could really use some support. She has had heartache after heartache over the past few years. The children's father is unable to work and be in the household due to mental illness and prior to all of this she was a stay at home mom. She has been actively trying to find work but the cost of child care has made it nearly impossible for her to do this. The primary vehicle is a large suburban which is expensive to fill up-a gas card would help with this as well as a gift card to Walmart to help with groceries and other essentials. If anyone knows of a legitimate work from home job, a job that would allow a mom to bring children or affordable child care near Valley Center or Park City, please reach out in the comments.

A mother who recently left an abusive marriage is needing help with moving from a house to a two-bedroom apartment where she and her 11-year-old son will be starting their new life. She needs help moving on Saturday, April 12. She has already rented the U-Haul and really needs help with the muscle! Everything is on the ground level and there are no appliances needing to be moved. The bigger items being moved will be 2 couches, end tables, TV stand, TV, mattresses, dining room table and boxes. The move will start on Saturday at 10:00 am. Our mother and son attend Westlink campus.

A mom has recently, courageously, left an abusive marriage with her 10 year old son. She has secured employment and has found a small apartment to start over. Mom and her son had to leave everything behind so are starting over to furnish their new home. She already has beds and a dresser, and someone has helped provide needed items for her bathroom.

This family still needs a couch, small kitchen table with 2 chairs, broom with dustpan, Swiffer wet mop, small vacuum for laminate flooring, pizza cutter and other kitchen utensils, dish drainer, spices, a coffee table and small bookshelf.

Mom is walking with a friend and Pathway member back to a healthy environment for her and her son.
