We have a mother who needs financial assistance for her rent. She recently experienced severe property damage and had to use her funds to address the issue. Fortunately, she was able to resolve the damages, but now she is at risk of not having enough money to pay her rent. The mother and her children are seeking financial support, as well as two beds or bunk beds. Your assistance could have a significant impact on their safety and well-being.

KINSHIP. The caregiver is the Legal Guardian of two of her two grandchildren. The family was temporarily displaced due to the LA Wildfires. The caregiver and her family are now back in their home, but she is need of assistance as they are adjusting to the devastation that the wildfires caused. Currently, she is requesting assistance with groceries, cleaning supplies as well as clothing and shoes for the two children in her care. The caregiver will be able to sustain as she currently is but being that they had to dispose of food and clothing and other necessities this request will be beneficial to the family. The caregiver has stated that she shops at multiple grocery stores for different food/items and would like the grocery gift cards as follows: $300 to Vons, $150 to Ralphs and $150.00 to State Brothers. However, it may be beneficial for the responder to contact the caregiver to verify if this is still her request.

We are requesting your assistance in helping a family in need. The family consists of mother (15 years old) and her daughter (1 year old) who currently lives with maternal grandmother and her two siblings ages 17 (M) and 13 (F). Maternal grandmother is the sole provider for the household and is unable to afford services that are needed in the home. The home is currently infested with bed bugs as why we are requesting your assistance to help with pest control services.

Taking care of the bedbugs will help improve the children's living condition and alleviate the issue.

Dad works, but employer has been cutting back on hours, and this has left the family struggling to pay their bills. Family is on payment plan with AEP and the amount to get them caught up is $617. Power will be turned off on 4/22/25. Dad is sole earner, as Mom stays home and homeschools their three kids.

A 17-year-old girl who recently underwent a heart transplant is moving into a new apartment with her father. This family has faced a great deal of hardship over the past year—while she was hospitalized for several months leading up to the transplant, her father traveled back and forth between the hospital and home to care for his aging parents. Sadly, one of them passed away during that time. Their move-in date was unexpectedly moved up to tomorrow (Thursday, 4/17), and they are in urgent need of a $700 security deposit, as well as a few essential household items: a queen-size blanket, vacuum cleaner, towels, and washcloths. These items will help the family settle into their new place and have a sense of stability.

After surviving abuse and escaping her trafficker, this survivor has a chance to start a new life. Nine years ago, she became homeless after losing her job and being evicted with her young son. With nowhere stable to go, she sent her son to stay with a friend temporarily. During this vulnerable time, she fell into the hands of a trafficker. That same friend later convinced her to sign over guardianship of her child, which became permanent. After suffering a brutal assault at the hands of her trafficker, she was determined to break away and rebuild her life. Despite her securing employment, the cost of child support and housing costs, made reuniting with her son difficult. She entered the Orange County Rescue Mission, completed court-ordered therapy, parenting classes, and drug testing, earned her GED, and enrolled in college, all while fighting for custody for her son. Today, she has been approved for Section 8 housing and finally has a safe, stable apartment. However, before she can move in and receive custody of her son, she needs a few essential items: a refrigerator and a mattress. With your support, we can help provide these basics, and with them, restore hope, dignity, and the foundation for a fresh start for her and her son.
