Story
I wanted to share the story of a family who came to 100 Families seeking help with an overdue utility bill—just one of the final hurdles before they could move into a place of their own. This family has worked incredibly hard to get to where they are, doing everything they can to create a stable, safe home. Through their perseverance, they were able to secure housing. However, the space was small and couldn't accommodate all of their belongings. They’ve since been renting a storage unit, doing their best to make monthly payments to hold onto what little they have. Unfortunately, they’ve recently fallen on hard times and are unable to make this month’s payment. The storage facility has notified them that unless the payment is made by the end of the day, their unit—and everything in it—will be lost. This family is doing everything they can to get back on their feet, but right now, they need a helping hand. Losing their belongings would be a devastating setback at a time when they’ve already come so far. If there’s anything we can do to support them, even in a small way, it could make all the difference.
