A Family in Need of a Lifeline

We’re reaching out on behalf of one of our client families who is facing a difficult season. The father recently lost his job, and although the mother is working full time, her income alone isn’t enough to sustain the household. Despite their best efforts, they are struggling to cover basic needs—gas, rent, and utilities—and are in urgent need of support.

This is a hardworking family that isn’t looking for a handout, but a hand up. They have been actively engaged in our parenting program, consistently attending classes and using their earned baby bucks to purchase diapers and wipes. Their commitment to growth, stability, and their children’s well-being is evident.

The mother’s love for her children is inspiring. She is currently pregnant with her third child. She has an 11 y/o daughter and 3 y/o son. She faithfully brings them to the center, including her sweet pre-teen daughter who adores her baby brother. They are doing all they can—but right now, they just need a little help to bridge the gap until the father can secure new employment.

Financial support for an expecting single mother with a 14 year old son. Client lost her job and the father of baby is not in the picture. Client is struggling to pay rent and needs rental assistance.

This month, 6 children (7 year old Female, 6 year old female, 6 year old male, 4 year old Male, 3 year old female, 2 year old female) were placed in a relative placements home. As this family took in 6 children, funds became tight and they are struggling to provide size 6 diapers, size 6 pull-ups, baby wipes and food for the family. By meeting this need, it will help preserve placement of the children in their current home.

A family who just reunify back together into their new apartment just dropped and broke their television. They are in need of a new one, hopefully something between 48-55in TV. They share their bonding time together by watching their favorite movie and would like that bond to continue.

Two grandparents have been caring for their granddaughter for the last 5 years. Recently grandpa has been struggling with his health. He has been in the hospital for an extended period of time and will require additional time in a skilled nursing facility. He has been unable to work and now grandma, who is not working, is having to figure out how to pay their bills. We are hoping to gather some grocery gift cards to alleviate some of the financial burden they are facing. Grocery stores near them are Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Raley's and Walmart.

The number of youth in CWOP have increased and DFPS has requested assistance with building Busy Boxes for the youth staying in local hotels.

A single mother of three young children (ages 10, 6, and 4) is in urgent need of support. She has been diagnosed with cancer and has undergone multiple surgeries, which caused her to miss numerous days of work. As a result, she has fallen behind financially. Her car was recently repossessed, and she has received an eviction notice for her apartment.

Although she works full-time and receives state assistance for food and medical coverage, she is unable to catch up on her rent and car payments. The stress has also impacted her children’s education, as transportation issues have led to school tardiness, putting their charter school enrollment at risk.

Meeting this $3,000 need will help her recover her vehicle and stabilize her housing situation. It will provide her the ability to continue working, transport her children to school and medical appointments, and keep her family together in their home. Your support will bring much-needed relief and hope to a family in crisis.

Despite these challenges, she has been actively applying for jobs and is determined to get back on her feet. Currently, she is behind on her car payment and in need of assistance with groceries. More than just financial help, this is an opportunity to surround her with care, encouragement, and the connection of a loving church community.

With 7 kids, clothing can be very expensive. This family is requesting gift cards to Gabe's or Walmart so they can purchase clothes for their kids. Four of the kids are teenagers and would love to be able to pick out their own items with a gift card.
